Permission issues key on the remote desktop session host server

Morning all,

I tried to fix a few problems that we wanted on our new Office Server remotely.

This is a new server that we have put in place a few days ago and is now on the site in a remote and ready to leave office.

We moved a few users on the server yesterday to begin to test it, but met with some major problems that we have not seen before.

Server 2008 R2 and is the host of the session, and server roles installed licenses, as well as services (search and file server roles) of the file.

The problems we have are:

  • Trying to configure Outlook 2010 exchange account using the automatic configuration, we get the error code: 0 x 80070057
  • When you open MS Word, we get: "your AutoCorrect file, \MSO2057.acl, could not be saved. The file may be read-only, or you do not have permission to modify the file.
  • When Word is closed, we get: "cannot save or create this file. Make sure that the disk you want to save the file on is not full, write-protected or damaged. (C:\normal.dotm)
  • Some users have managed to get their Outlook account settings, but get the same error code in the point 1, when you try to open or to move an e-mail message
  • Windows search is also a problem, as in the start menu search returns no results, and clicking on "see more results" gives an error: Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. May not permissions to access you the item.

First impressions, wherever the registry for AppData folders by user settings, have not been defined properly, which means that files that are trying to write, try saving in the wrong place.

I didn't know how to check this in the registry, but all the environment variables look be ok compared to our running Server 2008 R2 RD.

If anyone can offer suggestions or advice, that would be greatly appreciated.

See you soon

  • Losing keyboard focus when the remote desktop session

    Hello

I have several computers Win7 it remote to the server of a hosting company. Our users will register in the servers of the hosting via remote desktop. The question that arises is that the keyboard stops working after a locking of the user, the computer, then returns after a short period of time to continue working. The remote desktop session will remain functional when the computer is locked. After unlocking the computer, the keyboard does not work in the remote session. The mouse is not affected by this and minimizing the session, the keyboard works fine on the local session. Sometimes, you need to restore down and then restore back or minimize the RDP session several times to get the keyboard works within the remote session. A few times, close the RDP session will cause the keyboard work again. Someone at - he lived it and have a resolution of this problem? This issue seems to occur more frequently and we have already created on the remote server user profiles, but nothing helped. Thank you for your help.

  • I have problems connecting to the remote desktop on Windows Server 2008.

I have many positions of work XP trying to connect to our servers to Server 2008 Remote Desktop, but get the message, "because of a security error, the client could not connect to the remote computer".

When I check the version of remote desktop it uses, it is 5.2.3790 in program Files\Remote Desktop

Now, if I go to Windows\System32, I find mstsc.exe and can connect to the same server perfectly.  But if I go to save the connection, RD is up to version 5.2.

How can I remove the old version and just use the newest one?

    Thank you.

  • Not being able to have the remote desktop session ssh in putty

I have cisco ASA and I have configured the ASA to have connection remotely from remote offices as well.

I used the command ssh 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 outdoors where outside is my external interface in ASA.

But, whenever I try to access the ASA of PuTTY, I get this error "network connection closed unexpectedly server."

What can we do to solve this error and get access to the cli of my ASA.

In the same way I did for my GUI access in the ASA using the command

http 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 outside and I have the ASDM access that works well but not ssh.

I have to open the ssh ports using static nat and access list? Even the port check tool says that my port 22 is open.

Help, please. Thank you for your comments.

Is it possible to call the lock of a host machine screen remote desktop without interfering with any active session on this host?

The host machine might have been locked by someone who just walked away from him or the host computer can be used remotely by its regular users.

  • Remote Desktop sessions fail with the error of data encryption

All my remote desktop sessions attempts fail with an error of bull data encryption *. It seems that half of the world has this error and no one can provide an answer. Before binding you to an answer without value, it is all my clients servers with Windows Server 2003-2011 everything, cannot RDP to any of them.

Most suggested answers a problem of router or server specific problem or suggest disabling large unloading on the network card.  Well, this problem hooked 30 + servers I've tried lately.  I tried with unloading defined on deactivate and activate.  I tried ethernet and wifi.  I tried to do different internet connect, work, home to various customer sites.

In other words, I can no longer use RDP to connect to servers on ANY connection.  It simply doesn't work anymore.

I run Windows 7 32 bit and this couple suddenly some days ago.  Before you start, no virus, no updated drivers... blah blah blah.

The first day, he started, he wouldn't let me RDP via VPN but if I went through the external IP (mapped ports).  Then, it only works if I was on ethernet, not the wireless.  Then he just decided it wouldn't work at all.  Today, that I even tried to get back into the work remotely via RWW and the RDP ActiveX... did not work.  Tried both servers a SBS 2003 to 2008.  Nope.

XP has a ten years more of life.  Win7 has done roughly three years, now it starts to fall apart.

If you can fix this before moving on to Windows 8, and without having to wipe my whole PC, it would be much appreciated.

    I'm really stuck on this.

All clients connect to the server by using Remote Desktop Session of work.

The condition is now, I want to connect internet connection server.

I use Pro 8.1 and I'm sorry but stopping and restarting do NOT appear when connected via a RDP session and you click on the key Windows + X (or right click on Start).  The options you get are (ironically) "stop or d├⌐connexion" > "Disconnect" or "disconnect".

  • Screen 5600ea - completely black HP Omni 10 after crash while on the remote desktop connection

I hope someone can help me with this.

I had updated my Omni 10 to Windows Pro 8.1 so that I can Office remotely on my tablet on my work lan to get the benefits of the 2013 Office (we have not this version to work) on my work PC.

Anyway, while it is connected to my 10 Omni via desktop remotely my Omni 10 crashed after connecting a USB drive that is powered via a USB OTG adapter. I used the front adapter without any problem with the USB card readers bus-powered and also the Lan USB card so I know it works, and the outlet powered USB hard drive works on my PC without any problem.

The Omni disconnected from the remote desktop, and I guess it crashed, but the screen is black even when I hold down the power button and wait for the vibration (which usually means that it is set to zero).

There is nothing displayed on screen, my work PC is unable to connect via Remote Desktop, and any number of power cycles seems to relive.

I tried with the attached Omni 10 charger and without.

There is no HP logo involve restarting at any point, but the Windows key infiltrates a vibration when I push on it.

While enjoying the fact that the Omni 10 comes with the base Windows 8.1 and not Pro so I changed the configuration it worked fine for a few weeks since the installation.

Pointers on getting this thing to life would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

I returned to the store that I bought, and they sent to HP for warranty repair.

28 days ago so I went back to the store and they gave me a brand new boxed 10 Omni processor.

When I got home I installed the driver and Windows updates. I noticed that the WiFi reception was really bad, even right next to my router, and the cameras had lines on the screen and the pictures that I took.

The next day I went back to the store and they said all that and they initially said that I have to wait another 28 days, while it went for repair. When I said that this was not acceptable, they gave me a full refund of the amount that I had paid and used that to purchase a Pro of Microsoft Surface.

The Microsoft Surface Pro is fast, well doneand more importantly everything works.

TAKE NOTE, HP - IT IS HOW A WINDOWS TABLET SHOULD BE.

I'm done with lag, unstable and downright unreliable HP products.

  • Remote Desktop Session Authentication connects to Active Directory

  • How can I put an end to a remote desktop session?

    Original title: "Incoming connections"

My Vista 32 bit Pro is configured to accept incoming connections.  How to break the connection to the client computer?  For example, if I plugged in to my box from a remote site, returned to the Vista Pro machine and realized I forgot to unplug then on the remote site?

  • Taskbar "won't go away" during Remote Desktop sessions more

Hello.  A few weeks ago, I noticed my taskbar is more 'disappear' when I connect a desktop session remotely.  It's my phone, I always used to log in my work computer at home.  When I do that and going full-screen remote desktop, my taskbar to the laptop would be hiding and this would be my taskbar to work down as if I was sitting at my desk, normal work normally as I always knew, even when I used to use XP.

A few weeks ago, I ran updates system and when I did, this behavior started (or stopped, depending on how you look at it).  I don't want to go through the pain of having to turn autohide on and off whenever I use my laptop to connect my system of work.

Is there some sort of option maybe turned it while updating that I'm missing that would cause this happening now, and more importantly, that I come back to it back.

    Thanks in advance.

    I just fixed it.

I don't know if there was an update that conflict, but I had to go to the properties of the remote desktop, make sure that it is set to "open like a normal window", click the Advanced tab and then select it to always run as an administrator.  That fixed it.

  • screen resolution of the remote desktop: fonts and icons of the remote desktop window are so small they can barely read.

    Remote Desktop screen resolution

I've recently upgraded to a Windows 7 laptop from a computer in Office XP.

On my old machine, I use a VPN clent and Remote Desktop connection to use my work computer (my company uses XP on their machines).  If I try to connect from my computer Windows 7, fonts and icons of the remote desktop window are so small they can barely read.  Change display options in the settings of remote desktop doesn't affect the size of the window, not the resolution.

It is a problem because I am stuck using my old system to work remotely.

    Any ideas?

All you have to do is to reduce the resolution of the screen that you use to connect to your Remote Desktop Session.  More the higher resolution and the characters will be on your screen, and when you connect to Remote Desktop.  In my case, I lowered the resolution of my screen to the House for the resolution of the screen in my office.  It works perfectly.  To reduce the resolution follow these steps:

    1. click on start

    2. click on Control Panel

    3. under appearance & personalization - click on adjust screen resolution.  You may get a message indicating that your resolution is not at the optimum, but don't worry you will still be able to see the letters on your screen.

I have a dual boot Media-PC with XP Pro and Windows 7 Ultimate edition. This PC is part of my stereo and not convenient to do lot of keyboard work, as optimizing the WMP music library.

Thus, historically I use XP Pro using remote desktop sharing. This brings well the contact Office of the Media-PC to my laptop. When I finished with my combination of media-computer, I connect to the PC Media. The laptop Remote Desktop connection breaks and the PC Media connects...
I just installed Win 7 Ultimate and got the remote desktop connection works if I can bring my Win 7 Media PC interface to the laptop. Works very well. However, when I connect to the PC Media, to complete connection RD, basically the system hangs during the process of the Media PC connection... I waited 15 minutes and not able to connect. I have voltage in order to regain control of the PC...
... Anyone know what is happening?

I found that if I explicitly lock the computer before shutting down my terminal session (actually unplugged), so I'm able to get a login screen when I arrive at my physical office.  If I disconnect without locking, then the screen is blocked.
