  Lumetri Panel/workspace in PrPro is designed as a quick Fixer & able to mainly simple elements you may need to. And it has some limitations so built-in types experienced low editor/colorist can't screw up at all times of their videos. If this tool has everything you need, so it is very convenient. You do not need to learn a lot of ranking 'thought process', just look at your scopes & your program monitor.

  If, however, you'll need to tell secondaries 'Key' on some shades at certain levels of brightness/saturation to change just THE color, hue, brightness, saturation data, or a number of other things more important to the image, then SpeedGrade would be necessary. For me, I use the Lumetri Panel on the simple things, but... as Jim pointed out, if I want to hit secondary or make major changes, I'm more the Sg. Because after I learned that the app rather... unique... minimalist... UI, I'm actually able to move quicker on things over there than in the Lumetri Panel.

  SpeedGrade is not the same as applications other colorist/ranking, didn't say the vast-toolset of determination... but link Direct saves a TON to prepare sequences & projects on XML/EDL out and return & tel. If you go to work with her, I suggest strongly to e-book by Alexis Van Hurkman "Adobe SpeedGrade."... Getting started» It is still CS6... BUT... It covers quickly and directly how SpeedGrade works and how to do things you want to do, better than anything else I've seen. The big change is in the CC versions using the Direct link that you don't have any EDL input/output, and as all the scenario changes you make through PrPro, both the chronology controllling/replacement parts of Sg is grayed out in a project of direct link (directly using a project file PrPro). The interface... different color... is almost identical to the versions CS6.

  In addition, there are some good programs on service tutorial lynda-dot-com, and some that are quite useful on SpeedGrade in AdobeTV that will give you the look more recent Sg and Di-link process. Maybe you spend a few hours in watching & playing around, but once you get this thing is pretty easy to use.

  I do not recommend having a ramp... a block of neutral gray tones will generally from left to right black (0) to white (100) that you can put on a timeline, see to the Sg, and then look at what is happening where when you change what... so that you get a feel for say overall "initial" three color wheels/luma sliders , which left elevator control, controls gain way Gamma and right hand do... and you need to see that the elevator is * not * the shadows... and then, when you change moves on the shadows, mediums and highlights and always looking three combos of luma/color controls, now what region they change? What control on how these controls affect the image data pivot controls provide?

  It sounds more complicated than it needs to use, really... you just can't guess what they are doing and being puzzled at the first/frustrated when things do not respond as you expect. A few graphics and several simple explanations & examples... and you'll be off and running.

  What I want to do: save file on an external USB drive and an internal HARD drive history.

  Why I want to do: I'm paranoid about some virus removal/encrypt the content of all my discs.  With an external drive that is kept offline my important documents are kept safe.

  OneDrive, or any other cloud storage, is NOT an option.

  You can create backup using the file history on one of the drivers on your computer and you can copy and save it to the external hard drive. Or, you can create a backup manually on both disks one after the other. There is no setting through which you can simultaneously save the backup on two different disks.

• Long startup and save time for CF

  Sound has almost 5-7mins to open my file FXP (file 256 MB size). I think Im running a machine pretty decent Intel Duo Core 2.4 GHz, 2.4 GHz with 4 GB of memory.

  He has also take a long time to save the file - almost 7mins. And often the CF instance crashes with memory and Java null pointer errors.

  I know this is beta version, but if you can give me some advice on how to reduce these long time will be greatly appreciated.

  CF seems to save all versions of the exit in the fxp file. I had an fxp project where I did like 20 "export to swf. The FXP file size looked like 150 MB and open and save some time was about one minute. CF has also begun to bug a lot and have never spared etc. So, I switched to 'CODE' mode and deleted all previous versions. File size fell to 4 MB and the check in was fast. It worked for me.

• Do you have a list of 'global' tab to save time?

  I use Firefox for years and I love it so much that I opened it tons of tabs at the same time, which is 90 +, and I hate closing and reopening/conclusion. It's really, really a lot of time to come back after that browse the Internet for awhile to have a hard time finding one tab in a + 90 tablets, like 20 + windows (although the list has scrolling), grouped together. Would have been nice to have a list on the 'global '. I know that we have the "switch to tab" what to type in the address bar and a list of 'local' tab (one stop shop) already. But I don't know if we still have that 'global'. Also, I think that the "finder (duplicate) tab", using the address bar, not a not "bottom" search all tabs in all windows. I have already suggested the feature earlier just in case. Maybe there is already a plugin for this? Please let me know if I missed something. Thanks in advance for your help. I appreciate it.   I need to free up space on my iPhone 5 s. I realized that most of my space consumed comes from 4.4 GB of saved text messages and images/videos shared through these texts. I love being able to scroll through all the pictures and videos (see the text message, click details), but I know that's where the space is consumed.

  Here's my question: if I change my settings to text message to save the texts of "forever" to "1 year", are all the images and videos associated with the thus deleted text messages?

  I guess that Yes... this second part of the question: is it possible to easily save these images or access it through a manual backup to the computer?

• Auto Save Time Increment inconsistencies

  In Adobe Premiere Pro, I put the auto save preference to save every 5 minutes.  In a project that has been opened for 3 hours (sometimes inactive, sometimes actively used), I noticed in the log files that the auto save timing is sporadic automatic backup, and not always in increments of 5 minutes requested (see list below).  In fact, there is a duration of 15 minutes... who can be a lot of work when dealing with the production of commercial television for 30 seconds.

  I see auto save happening sometimes when I'm working on a project, so I'm curious - what specific activity delays the auto backup feature?

  AutoSave works in a project "unregistered".

  The 15 minute interval could reflect that you did a manual save

  (or more) during this period.

• Is this OK to clone brand new machines to save time?

  I bought 4 new HP Probook laptops. Each has its own Win7 and Win8 installation media. I didn't have to use the restore canned image, so I installed Win7, installed the drivers, ran Windows Update and installed other programs required on laptops. It took more than a day to complete the installation, so I want to clone the laptop and apply the image cloned to 3 other machines. Is it OK? This would invalidate OEM, COA, or something else? If I clone the other 3 machines, how then install the license key from the installation media supplied with laptops?

  We cannot clone Image of HP operating system for multiple units, unless you have a microsoft volume license key

• Using Preview in the workflow files Proress do not save time

  I just cut together a dramatic scene with some P2 files a friend / colleague gave me to see how the PRI would manage the project. That's what happened.

  1.I created a custom sequence which the parameter overview were Prores 422. The rest is the size / image format and pace of the clips.

  2 import the files and started cutting immediately. Playback was smooth. A nice creative process carefully.

  3. after the minute.piece Cup 3, I went back to fix the colors. I prefer 2 Colorista MB for this kind of work. The sequence of course would not be reading to FULL or HALF and QUARTER resolution was not acceptable for viewing. So, I made the sequence.

  4. There were approximately 35 cups in the room and each clip was cc. Make it to Prores took about 10 minutes.

  5. After reviewing the, I exported the sequence. I selected "Match sequence settings" and "use realized." I figured since all clips have been made like Prores and my output format was Prores would zip along. Export took 10 minutes.

  Can someone explain to me why using the codec rendered Prores files (in 10 minutes) seemed not to expedite the export process using all these clips overview. Im a little confused and discouraged.

  Well, there you have it. No smart rendering in PrP. This explains why the export function is slow compared to the CPF, although ingestion and more quickly (because of no transcoding required). I can't say that Im not disappointed. There is nothing a client like less, after a long edit session and then to hear "' Oh, it will be ready in 2 hours... it must always return. '" This could be a real problem which eventually limit the use of PrP for many people.

• screen saver does not work with sierra

  now, my screen saver shows a few pictures then go to sleep. It has always worked perfectly before upgrade of Sierra. Please notify

  Check both your screen sleep and sleep timers.

  Go to: Apple > System Preferences > screen saver and watch the time which is located in the lower left area.

  Go to: Apple > System Preferences > energy saving and air at the time where it is set to sleep.

  If they are the same, then you can set the sleep timer for a time greater than the screen saver timer.
