Photo disc does not open on my laptop under XP, but open on another computer laptop runnig Vista

I am running XP Home Edition SP3 and just received my photo of my football photos drive two sons. The photos are burned on a DVD-R. This disc opens on another laptop running Vista but not on my own XP parents. I can open any other CD, DVD, CD - R, CD + R, DVD - Rr, DVD + R, but not this one. It gives me just this error message; Windows cannot read this disk. The disc's might be corrupted or it could be in a form that is not compatible with windows. I know that this disk is not corrupted, because I have it open on his laptop, but not on a XP computer. Thanks for any help!

Any help out there?

I wonder if it is possible that the creator of the DVD
doesn't not close or finalize the DVD? See the following topics
