Stops Windows Live Photo Gallery (944221)
answer or does not start
http://support.Microsoft.com/default.aspx/KB/944221/en-us

For Windows Photo Gallery... just change the path:

%UserProfile%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows photo Gallery

After Renaming Pictures.pd4 you will need to re-catalogue
your photos and some tags may be lost. If the name change
Pictures.PD4 does not solve the problem... you can delete
the new Pictures.pd4 file and change the name of the
origin to Pictures.pd4 and the catalog file should
be restored.

In later versions of Windows Live Photo Gallery...
the name of the file is Pictures.pd5.

Vista and Windows 7 updated drivers love then here's how update the most important.

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system.
For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver,
Description, version, product name, company that created the driver and more.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - device - Graphics Manager - note the brand and complete model
your video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now, click on update
Driver (this can do nothing as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then right-click.
Uninstall - REBOOT it will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party
with their own software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now in the system manufacturer (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) site (in a restaurant), peripheral
Site of the manufacturer (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for
BIOS, Chipset and software updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after
    each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you actually install
presents itself. This is because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (sound card drivers
in particular that) so to install a driver - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat as
    necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW in the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER device - check
    manually by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

How to install a device driver in Vista Device Manager
    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/193584-Device-Manager-install-driver.html

If you update the drivers manually, then it's a good idea to disable the facilities of driver under Windows
Updates, that leaves about Windows updates but it will not install the drivers that will be generally
older and cause problems. If updates offers a new driver and then HIDE it (right click on it), then
get new manually if you wish.

  • Malfunction of Windows photo gallery

Windows Photo Gallery stopped at the display of photos once they have been selected from a folder even if it is the default view.

John, can I go to photos and all flders will come and I can click on any folder and all thumbnails will be displayed but will receive select a tile that all Iget is a white screen with the hour glass showing that it works, but nothing ever happens. In addition, not all the options at the bottom of the page is displayed. The rotate left & right & delete x appear in gray. Some commands in the top of the page are missing too. I think that this happened after a windows update has been downloaded. I tried to do a restore to a date prior to this but it wouldn't work, she just said recovery ccouldn can't be done due to the error has occurred. Ive tried twice with different dates, but I got the same message twice.

  • Windows live photos has stopped working on my LENOVO windows 7 PC.

When I try to open "Windows live photo gallery", the site becomes blurred, and I get a pop up saying "Windows live photo gallery has stopped working".

I clicked on "find an online solution & close program", and I get nothing. Under 'View problem details,' he said 'The problem event name' - APPCRASH: name of the Application - WLXphotogallery.EXE and a ton of stuff after that.
I downloaded all the latest security news, and that did not help.
Someone has any idea how to solve this problem?

I came across a somewhat acceptable 3-step solution to the problem of the photo library to break with the message, "Photo Gallery stopped working" shortly after the start. This workaround and the problem it addresses only apply to computers with AMD or ATI graphics cards.

    1. Use Windows Explorer to navigate to the following folder (Win + E).

      • %ProgramFiles%\Common Technologies\Multimedia ATI
    2. Rename the following files in a temporary thing. For example, add "-off" at the end of each name. Note: these files may appear without ".dll" at the end, depending on your system settings.
      • AMF-wic-jpeg - decoder32.dll
      • AMF-wic-jpeg - decoder64.dll
    3. Restart Windows.

AMD is rumored to have a fix on the way to a bug in the driver files. But, this work around 3 steps will be likely welcomed by fans of photos, until that day comes.

Note: After you apply this workaround solution your computer may encounter minor performance problems. And, if you update or reinstall video drivers AMD/ATI, the roar of the Gallery of photos can reproduce until you reapply this workaround solution.

I want to give credit to the one who first developed this work around. But I got used with no citation provided.

  • "Windows Explorer" stops working in Windows Photo Gallery

When I'm working with pictures in Windows Photo Gallery on my computer Vista laptop, 9 times out of 10 if I click tab to organize to try to drop his menu, a "ghost" of the tab appears just below and the system hangs.  It comes up with an error message window saying something to the effect that Windows Explorer has stopped working.  If I just right click on an image, a menu appears with the options similar to what I expect of the tab organize, and I can easily do what I must.  But try to let fall the tab menu organize sends the computer behind closed doors, and I have to Ctrl-Alt-Del to start.  This has been a problem for years, and I myself remember well I even tried reinstalling everything once without any positive result.

Research of Windows Explorer in Windows Fix - it goes nowhere;  It keeps articles posting on Internet Explorer, as there is no such animal as 'Windows Explorer'.

Thanks for your suggestions on how to solve this inconvenience.

I have not seen this site before. Just use the 27 that told you how to download. Vista is the end of it of life support. They are unlikely to be updated again.

  • How to stop all THE photos from windows photo gallery out when sending an email with a photo?

Envoy what I thought was a photo of photo of photo gallery / scanned and it showed my ENTIRE photo library! How you stop that?

It is in fact the import setting in windows live photos, which is to open the wlpg program when you import from any device, camera / scanner...

    Open wl photo gallery,

Click on the blue button at the top left,

    Go to the registration options

Import the section tab and check these settings.

As to why he gives full access to all your files, you must be jumping the party permissions or not noticing.

If you use outlook, you might think about changing your default Photo Editor / viewer of office picture manager so the issue is not returned.

Go to default programs in the start menu,

Click on associate a file type and Protocol in a program.

Click on types of photo files you have, jpg / jpeg... and click on change, search for default, Office Picture Manager by clicking Close will record the changes you have made.
