  You can combine catalogs by opening the 'master' catalogue (the one that you want to contain ALL your photos) and then using the command file-> import from another catalogue and pointing to the catalog on the other.   iPhoto (the beloved and only) has a great power in its ability to custom folders full of full of albums etc. subfolders directories several levels deep, with photos that can be duplicated in different albums, folder & file size info, etc. Unless this can all be kept in the Photos, there is no point me upgrading until Apple gets serious on the needs of demanding photographers, who want the custom control and want as their stuff protected in their hard drive and not on the cloud. Automatically generated 'events' and 'albums' are things of grandmother-and-the-children, useless for people like me. I need a custom control over making inventories of multiple folder levels based on my own custom categories, categories or undated events Apple thinks we should have. Home, school, family, travel, etc. just does not cut it!

  Someone really aware with this situation can help me get clarity? Promo stuff on pictures Apple responds to virtually none of my questions.

  I would like to begin by asking in the forum of Photos, but until you do, you need to specify your terminology. iPhoto offers events, Albums, and smart Albums for the organization. Thus, by "directories" I can only imagine say you you have files of records nested within other folders? If so, you can do with Photos. There is no need to use the features of cloud Photos. They are not mandatory in any mode.

  Regarding your comment, if you're a serious photographer why you use iPhoto? Make sure you used Apple app for photographers, it was called Aperture. Now for photographers you use applications 3rd party - Lightroom, Capture One etc.

• Photo 'missing file '?

  I didn't move from iPhoto to Photo because at the beginning I did not like Photo. I continued to play with it and as I became used I finally decided to make the change. Groovy, until recently, when I try to open some of my images, I get:

  

  Obviously, the file CAN be opened, as it is here. Full scale and resolution full... The info file is description, if Photo can access this information and open an image that seems to be the original... image where it is? I assume that it exists in the library, which apparently (and absurd) are not directly accessible. Such seems to be the case with almost all of my images. Fortunately, I had not yet emptied the trash in iPhoto so I can still get the pictures... I guess the question is, what I need to keep a file with all my images? The originals will continue to disappear from the picture (which mysteriously open again the size of the file in its entirety even if the "original file is offline or cannot be found."?)

  Photos can expand the file and displays the information in the info panel, even if the original file is missing or is not accessible.  Photo library has also decent size of postage stamp files and stores the metadata of your versions of the image.

  Try to find out, if the original file is really not found or cannot be accessed inside the library of Photos because of permission issues or similar.

  FindAnyFile let's you find the files inside library packages where Spotlight will not look.

  Start FindAnyFile, and then type "0 1 Bowie" in the search field.  Your original file missing can be found?

• HOW TO OPEN A NEW FOLDER ON DESKTOP PHOTOS & MISSING FILE DOCUMENTS

  I created a new folder on the desktop storage of photos of the documents"" folder.  When I try to open the folder, I wonder "what program I want to use.  should what program I use?

  -Did you make changes on your computer before the images of the missing documents?

  I recommend you change the programs that Windows uses by default and check if that helps.

  Also, look for documents lost (photos) after completing the steps in this article.

• Sketches & Photomix App: picture/Photo missing from the toolbar icon

  I recently downloaded applications above on my ipad Pro with Comp.  Photo/Image icon is missing from my toolbar on sketches and Photomix but he's there in my Comp app.  I want to insert drawings or pictures of my selection and can not.  I notice on You Tube tutorials, the icon of the image is there in the space bar, and they show how an image can be downloaded.  Help!

  Photo image icon was in the previous version of the sketch (and online tutorials have not yet updated). Here's how to get a picture in your work of sketch:

  1. When you open a new work of sketch plan, you will see a layer draw in front of Toolbox.

  2. tap on the + just above him to open a dropdown menu with the choice of the drawing layer and Image layer.

  3. tap on the Image layer

  4. then choose where you want to import the image (on my iPad, take a picture, the files of my CC, market, stock [Adobe], paste the Image); Now, it is not possible to put images of Dropbox.

  I spent from PC to Mac and Apple move my data. I know it was a big mistake. I have my catalog recovered except for my collections where all the pictures have the exclamation for missing photos. If I understand correctly the collections affect the original photo and does not have another copy. If I use find missing photo and add it to the collection, I am afraid that I will get a copy of the image. Any suggestions on how I can add the missing photos in my collections?

  Once you have all your folders or images related to Lightroom, you won't have to make changes in the Collections.

  It will automatically remove the exclamation point (File Missing symbol) in your collection.

  I'm running on Windows XP SP2. There are several databases installed in this machine. The basic version is 10 gr 2. I want enable auditing on one of the databases.
  
  When I checked for the audit_dump_dest, this parameter does not exist on this database. The adump file was not created in the admin directory, where other dump directories. I created a file pfile from the spfile and no audit_dump_dest was there.
  
  Can I just create a folder adump and then add the audit_dump_dest to the file pfile parameter. Then, create a spfile based this pfile to set the audit_dump_dest parameter in the database so I could move forward in the implementation of audit for this server?

  If this folder does not exist, you can create and change the setting. But enable auditing will be the effect on space and performance since you have an instance 3 make sure that everything will work Ok.
