  Select the ringtone on the PC, you will get a dialog box open or save the file.

  Save the file. Close the connection. Right click on the file on the PC and send it to an email address on the BB.

  Which means that, all tones exist as well on my hard drive and in my settings-> sounds on my iPhone.

  Now, recently I reinstalled cleanly Windows on my computer and one of the few things I did NOT backup.

  were my ringtones in the music library, trusting that I could re - upload to my PC from the iPhone (in the form of files .m4r, of course, as they should be).

  It is, I did not do it, because I don't know how to do (you can even still hoping. But we know all Windows and iPhone are not the best of friends).

  Unfortunately, tones (and audio books) is a download-only single from the store.  You will have to redownload them (and pay) If you do not have a backup.  Alternatively, you can try this technique to create tones to your library of free music:

  Open your media icon > Menu > explores. Look in your device memory > ringtones and if there, delete.

  Tones are a unique download only, you will have to pay if you want to re-download them - don't you have copies in the tones of your computer's iTunes library section (or on your backup of your library of downloads /), so that you can synchronize your new phone? Or maybe you have you old phone so that you can do file > devices > transfer purchases to copy on to your computer's iTunes library?

  using dropbox, I was able to import ringtones to my z 10. I am able to use by browsing through files, but only for all contacts as a group.  When I try to assign a downloaded ringtone to a specific contact I'm unable to access my new downloaded files. In the drop-down list there is no link to other music files.

  Should I save to a different folder? If Yes, where and how? I need different ringtones for different contacts, but the phone does not come with enough acceptable options. Help, please.

  Download from your drop box, to any folder on your device or sd card, you can use the file manager to move the folder to a location had hoped.  Contacts select your contact, change, select phone rign tone, it will pull down all your sound files you z10, including music files.

  Hello.  I bought the storm yesterday.  My carrier is Verizon.  I went on the BlackBerry 101 on the site last night and he said to go in the media, then under the ringtones option there, choose "download ringtones" in the menu.  I tried which... but this option does not exsit in my menu.  Then... How and where can I go to download ringtones on my Storm?  Mobile.BlackBerry.com tells me to download the same way.

  Does anyone else have this problem?

  You are right to not see this option - blackberry manuals can be very ambiguious due to the fact it operation of the 'general' device of overviews... not specific to the carrier verisons...

  If you want ringtones?  You can use your own music from your computer!  If you have installed the Blackberry from your Inbox user Tools CD, you will see that, in BB, Bishop Office is an icon called Media Manager.  If you go here, you will see you can drag "/" drop "the files in a folder pre-designate ringtones on your memory card support.

  Better yet, there are programs out there in stores and on the web that allow to cut snippets of your songs and create your own ringtones!  As long as they are in a compatible format, you should have no problem...

  If you want to re-download them then Yes, you will need to pay again - tones (and audio books) is the only unique downloads of the store. If you still have the ringtones on your phone you can copy them on to the iTunes library on your computer by connecting the phone and do file > devices > transfer purchases (they should copy on the tones of your library section) so that you can take a backup copy.
