Photos crash when deleting location

On his return from holiday, I imported hundreds of photos from my camera Panasonic ZS40 in Photos. The ZS40 has a built-in GPS receiver and embeds location information in each photo if available.

Seen in Photos, many (but not all) imported photos appear to have incorporated location information (the little icon 'card' is displayed in the corner down left), but photo location does not appear on the map in the information area.  A map appears, but there is no bug. On the other hand, the info box displays "looking for information about the location..." This opinion never disappears, and location of the photo never appears on the plan (which is not relevant to where the photo was taken).

I suspect that the ZS40 had not yet acquired GPS lock when these photos were taken. Maybe he wrote by default (or defective) lat/long coordinates in EXIF data structure embedded in the JPG file.  In order to correctly assign to the right place in the Photos, I clicked on Image/location/delete location, with the intention to then manually add the location where the photo was taken.  Photos promptly crashes as soon as I click delete location.

This happens every time. I have tried on dozens of different relevant photos, with the same result: pictures of accidents.

There seems to be a coding bug in the program of Photos (I don't like any more whenever I use it).

Can anyone suggest a work around with (or without) photos?

Can anyone tell me the location of the actual JPG image file which Photos has hidden somewhere in its database? (With iPhoto, it was easy to find the actual file...). If I can find the JPGs, I might be able to inspect (and perhaps correct) defective lat/long data in the EXIF data with a geo-tagging 3rd party utility.

1.3 photos

10.11.3 OSX

Try to manually add the correct location before removing the current location

You can export the unmodified original (menu, file == > export) and then import the corrected photos and remove all original with Photos photos, as it should

The original files are in your photo library in the Masters folder - you can see by clicking on the photo library and shows the contents of the package

BUT, be VERY well sure, you have a great current backup

It isn't really a good idea to waste time in it - there is no serviceable parts by the user in the photo library, it is not designed for human interaction and there is background and iCloud library current operations that may cause problems or even damage your library - it has never been taken in charge are smart to waste his time inside the library and with pictures it's very dangerous

and there are a few user scripts to deal with GPS - they might be useful in determineing you have or even fix - Photos for Mac

First of all, try to disable the GPU: https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/kb/lightroom-gpu-faq.html

What type of GPU do you use?

  • Photo Story 3 crashes when previewing recorded audio or while "Audio Mixer" during save

I use Photo Story 3 on a 32-bit Windows 7 computer (I actually tested on several machines of Win7 32 (business & professional) of various brands & manufacturers).  All of the documentation I found said that Photo Story 3 SHOULD work.  As long as I do not use the microphone to record, that's fine, but if I do (and I NEED to), it crashes when I saw the clip or the finals of the registration phase "audio mixer".

I followed all of the suggestions I found online.  I tried to run it in WinXP SP3 compatibility mode.  I tried to run it as an administrator.  I tried them both at the same time.  Nothing seems to work!  I even went as far as deleting (OK, deactivation) Windows Media Player & Center as a recommended person.  I use Setup PStory.msi setup program Setup.exe only installs a version of a limited use of the trial that I can't use.  FWIW, I tried the limited version that comes with the setup.exe and experienced the same problems!  Can anyone shed some light on this for me?

Thanks for the suggestion. I have been in Event Viewer and took note of a conflict with a DivX codec installed last week. I uninstalled DIVX and rebooted.  It works fine now.

Apparently I have a problem with a DIVX player/converter/CODEX had installed and has been using the video of movies at home.

    Thanks for the suggestion!  Solved!

Start Safe Mode removes the system caches that can help.

Upper left corner of your screen, click on the Apple  > Shut Down.

After your Mac stops, wait 10 seconds, then press the power button.

As soon as you hear the startup tone, hold down the SHIFT key. You must press the SHIFT key as soon as possible once you hear the startup tone, but not before.

Release the SHIFT key when you see the gray Apple logo and progress indicator.

Once you are in Mode without failure, return to the menu Apple . In the drop-down list, click: reboot

Then try to delete an e-mail message.

Where is the help from Adobe!

    Hi MHtemkin,

    Please follow the Solution below

    1. Go to edit > preference > Performance > uncheck "processor chart use" If this does not solves the problem then,
    2. With Lightroom closed
    • Access

C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom\Preferences    (Where AppData is a system folder / hidden so you may need to enter the name of the folder directly into your browser's address bar or activate hidden folders / system in the Internet Explorer view folder options.)

    • Open the file LightroomPreferences.agprefs
    • Locate the line use = True autobahn (press CTRL + F)
    • Take Autobahn use = False

    After save the file

    Restart Lightroom

    3. also refer to that link and update GPU if you use AMD map

You can move the inserted text to a different location on the picture, if yes how?  How can I put the character and the Panel clause up in the photo shop when you type test?

Yes.  I find it easier to type text, and then use the move tool (shortcut V) (looks like an arrow) to place it where you want.

To bring up the character and paragraph panels go to WINDOW > CHARACTER or WINDOW > PARAGRAPH.

    I hope this helps.

As you can already read in your crash report - the crash has little to do with Photoshop and everything to do with your Nik/Google SelectiveTool plugin.

Disable this plugin and contact Nik/Google for an update that fixes bugs in this plugin.
