  If you did an upgrade and not a clean install, they must remain on your drive. Do a search of *.jpg, *.jpeg and see what you get. If I remember correctly, you will have a folder windows.old that they appear in. You can use Windows Explorer if you want to look in your records in the Windows.Old directory.

• Epson Stylus Photo RX420 with Vista printer driver problem

  I have an Epson Stylus Photo RX420 Series all in one printer, copier and fax machine which worked perfectly on my old Windows XP computer.

  Unfortunately this XP computer has failed recently so I've upgraded to a new PC running Vista.

  When I try to install the Vista printer recognizes the device and research initially drivers preloaded to find the printer driver.

  He says so I need to use Windows update to download the right driver which I allow then (which is consistent with the information available on the Epson site that says I need to use Windows Update to get the correct driver).

  Windows Update, then go online and find the pilot, but finally errors saying installation fail due to a timeout problem.

  I have no other problems with Windows Update install the patches, fixes, etc. They all have download and install correctly and they should be larger in size than the printer driver.

  Any thoughts on how I can get the correct driver for this printer, download and install?

• I am trying to open a database of the thumb that is located in a folder with no photos inside, with Vista Home Premium.

  I read in the answers of the forum, that Vista does not use miniature db, but another file. I have some files on an external device that has files both XP and Vist. I found this db in an empty folder in the contrary case, the hidden, and tag with an unknown program that opens it. I read the text portion of the db and it was different from the more thumb db because a lot images had repetitive ads and plans a new folder locations. The message he gave me was to the effect that the other folders and files exist, there is no pictures in this folder to display. Authorities were for everyone and the HA attributes.

  The thumbnail representation of a file may not work correctly in Windows Vista. This problem occurs because Windows Vista cannot update the thumbnail cache. Mayreset hide thumbnail and check if it helps.

  To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Click Start, click all programs, Accessories, click System Tools, and then click on Disk Cleanup.

  2. If you are prompted, clickmy files only.

  3. in the list offiles to delete , click thumbnails.
  Note Configure other options you want.

  4. clickOKand then click delete files.

  (1) what is the brand and model of the computer?

  (2) whose restoration are you referring? Is the system restore or the factory restore of the laptop?

  You will need to contact the manufacturer of the laptop computer to restore the computer to factory settings.

  Note: Make a backup of the data before you reset the laptop.

  System Restore does not affect personal files, such as e-mail, documents, or photos.
  You can use your favorite search engine and try to find examples of photos from Windows Vista. Or you may need to restore your computer to factory settings.

  Please report if you are still having the problem. I will be happy to provide you with the additional options that you can use to get the problem resolved.

  I use photo library in Vista Enterprise. I can only print in grayscale using Epson ink jet and laser color HP. I can't find anything in the photo gallery for this problem. Point properties of the printer for color printing.
