  Eager to start using plug in Camera Raw for PS CS6, I find that it is not active. (1) in Bridge CS6, ACR in main menu icon is gray.   My attempts to activate Camera Raw involve (1) download DNG Converter 8.7.1 and (2) try to download ACR 8.3... Update from Adobe. That second effort failed, receive this error code: "Camera Raw 8.3 (CS6) U44M2P7. I currently have AdobeCameraRaw7.0ALL and AdobeCameraRawProfile7.0ALL installed on a Mac under OS10.7.6.

  I don't know what else to do. Please tell me how to activate Camera Raw using Photoshop CS6.

  When you re-installed Photoshop, you also re-installed the version of Camera Raw comes with Photoshop - in other words came back you to an old version of Camera Raw, which does not support the D5100.

  In Photoshop, click Help > updates to update Camera Raw.

  Do not convert the images, try to open them directly in Ps CC 2015

  D500 is supported in the latest camera raw 9.5 so, you should be able to openthem directly.

  If you have CS5, there goes that Adobe Camera Raw 6.7 and you need to 7.4.

  There is a free way out. Convert the raws in DNG format to be able to open them in 6.7

  First download and install the DNG Converter.

  When I try to open a gateway or Explorer cr2 file, where there is usually the image I get a blue surface. I can open the file directly in PS, but not in DEM Raw. I work with CC and everything is updated. A few days ago I installed CC with Lightroom and since then this problem occurred.

  Make sure your drivers are up-to-date (site of the GPU manufacturer). Adobe introduced to ACR 9.0 GPU acceleration and some have experienced this problem. For the most up-to-date drivers fix it. In case of failure, disable the GPU acceleration in Camera Raw preferences.

  I use a Mac computer with Photoshop CS5 work installed on it.  I've been shooting RAW images on a Canon 6 d, but the. CR2 files will not open on the installation of Camera Raw.  Photoshop is version 12.0.4 x 64.

  I tried updates following, but to no avail:

  your need cr 7.3 or better.

  PS cs5 can only update cr 6.7.

  AE opens EXRs very well.   You would normally add an effect to your EXR (exr image sequence) on the timeline for the color correction.  If you are on the last AE... Discover the new Lumetri color effect in the effects & Presets (he is hidden in the utility folder at the bottom of the list).   It of really great for those who like the types of controls that you get in Lightroom (or camera raw).

When I try to open my RAW file in photoshop it says that it cannot open the type of file, check that your updates are up-to-date. I did and it says they are set for Bridge and Photoshop. I checked to make sure that my camera is on the compatibility list and that is. Don't know what else to do. I have a PC and Adobe Photoshop CS6. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

  I have CS6 I've updated. I also downloaded and installed a new version of Camera RAW plug in V9_1_1 and still I can't open my new Panasonic DMC_TZ80 RW2 files. I can open my GF1 Panasonic RW2 files.

  I don't see this camera listed under ACR9.4. No, Adobe won't do an update for CS6. They stopped for CS6 to 9.1.1 ACR ACR update

  CC says that the camera raw editing is not activated and that a product calling it must have been launched at least once to activate this feature. I don't understand because I used it for a year and I used it this morning. (I got a new laptop last week, but I used a cab on it every day).

  Thank you, but the next day that pop up that prevent me from using CAB went and everything returned to normal.

  I have a Canon EOS 6 d, a desktop computer running Windows 10, Adobe Photoshop CS6 and I've already updated my Camera Raw to 9.2 (the latest version as far as I know) and I only need 7.3. I just downloaded the zip file, extract the file, ran the .exe and went to photoshop to open my Raw file, and it says it is not supported. Am I missing a step? Any help would be greatly appreciated!   ACR 9.1.1 is the last and one for the CS6. However, CC ACR features are disabled in CS6. Camera for CS6 support | Adobe Customer Care Team

  9.2 the cab is for CC, CC 2014, 2015 CC and bridge CC.

  I added to my previous answer, so take a look at it and see if that helps.

  You can still use the preset in Camera Raw - quite simply, you have a Camera Raw filter in the menu of tax filers. That said, Raw files will always open in ACR, and you can set JPEG and TIFF images to open in ACR, if you want to, then you can apply your preset:

  

  In my previous answer, I mention setting ACR to open as smart objects in Photoshop you can change again once, if you wish. So that's all good solutions.
