    I have a PhotoSmart 5510 and a Toshiba i7 Quad 4 laptop running Windows7 with a Trendnet Wireless router.

My PhotoSmart 5510 disconnects when printing is generated.    All systems are go: online wirelessly connected wireless, does not not offline, set as the default printer, checkmark, etc..  Sometimes it will make an impression and disconnect and sometimes it will disconnect the first time and will not be printed.

If I run the diagnostic utility I can usually get it online.  But the said diagnostic utility it is disconnected and the problem is not "resolved".

It also has a problem with the USB.  If I've set up as a USB printer will crash the entire operating system and laptop computer will not restart unless the USB is disconnected or if the printer is turned off.  This does not happen with my laptop computer on the same Lexmark printer.

Wauw, buy a photosmart HP 5510 printer and you are very busy for Christmas together to print wireless?

Unpack your photosmart 5510 and install?

Well, it prints 1 page and then you get the message printer isn't ready if you want to print your next page.

1st day, I try with my own knowledge.

    Updates

    Reset the router.

Work with difficult IP put in the printer.

Change the IP address via the Web interface.

Change the settings of the router

Try to reinstall the software which is not even possible that most all do the manual says that it is.

Still 1 print and then nothing. Reset the printer or change the IP in the difficulty of the printer, labour, still 1 print or scan or 1 airprint but then nothing.

A lot of people, same problem, some struggle for 6 months, contact support without success.

And right now, it looks resolved advice and try to do the same. No results at all.

Day still no 2, but I can't download now...

Come on guys read it all, it seems that you are lucky, when it works. You must be a programmer if it works.

    My main question is;

-Is this or Steve Job knew this?  This product is in its Apple store, HP uses the Apple logo.

-Sell HP t - he produced cheap now and get the money back to test everything print and use the cartridges?

-Are there hope or solution let this work smooth with what the box and ads tell?

-J' just forgot a small no and someone give me the solution?

-In a lot of wine in these days of Christmas?

Hope someone can help me and get this Photosmart 5510 working (printing, scanning and airprinting it says on the box)

    Hi ShiomiL,

A tried these last few months, a lot of time to get the HP works as it should work (especially the airprinting and scan) without any success.  We used with IP printing/scanning, which wasn't a problem, but does not give us the full possibility of the HP printer.

Today I bought an apple Extreme airport, connect and a few seconds later all works perfect

In the end, so it was the TL-WR741N (the latter replaced by apple airport) that give problems.

I just wanted you to know and say thank you for the support you give.

  • Cannot install photosmart 5510 on mac 10.4

I just bought photosmart 5510 but cannot install on my Mac 10.4, despite the assurances given by the sales staff that it would be OK?

    Hello

I recommend you contact the retailer that the information provided is false.

The product requires Mac OS X 10.5 or higher, as you can find the system requirements specified below:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c02907978

One of the latest models requires Mac OS X 10.5 and above, however I think that you can always find some models of last year as 4500 Officejet, Photosmart C410 for example who make compatible with your operating system.

    Hi PaulEich,

    Welcome to the HP forums!

I see your message you have a Photosmart B109n you need to connect wirelessly to your Mac running 10.9. Absolutely, I'll do my best to help you with this!

I think that the software fails is because it has not provided be used with OS 10.9. At this time, HP does not have software complete features, you will need to install it via the Apple updates. Which leads to the next question, how do I connect the printer to your wireless network. To do this, we need to connect the Mac to the printer to get setup things correctly

Please follow this post that I did, that has worked for others, to get the printer connected to your wireless network. To restore the default settings of your printer network, please press the configuration option, then network, then restore default network, followed by Yes. So to print the Network Configuration page on your printer please follow the steps below:

    1. On the Control Panel, press the button ( ) next to Scan . The Scan/Wireless menu.
  • Photosmart C4780 wireless Mac connection failure

I, like some others I've seen messages on, will have exactly the same problem with my HP Photosmart C4780 of wireless connection to my MacBook.  I just bought this printer a couple of days with a new iMac (which I have not yet unpacked, yet).  I decided to see if I could go ahead and get the printer works with my Macbook.  Here is a breakdown of the specs, measures and tests.

    1 MacBook OS X 10.5.8 (Leopard) running.

    2. software is installed.

    3. to set up a wireless connection, the "Device unavailable" error appears in a dialog box.  This is the same error that others have had.  He continues with... "The network configuration has been correctly transferred to the device.  However, to continue the configuration of the device in the network, your Mac must have access to the device... ».

    4. I can load the page HTTP for my router (a Qwest Actiontec M1000) and see the IP address of the printer.

    5. I can successfully ping the the IP address Mac printers.

    6. I cannot correctly load the HTTP page to the printer via the IP address and the view that it is different pages.  I can even change some of the settings, however, apparently never really complete updates.

    7. After talking with HP support for more than 90 minutes (after waiting on hold for nearly 45 minutes, not a joke), we arrived at the conclusion that the modem/router must be the cause of the problem.  So, I was told to contact Qwest to get help.  Furthermore, technical support had me through many of the same steps I've seen on other items (for example, reset the printing system, uninstalling and reinstalling the software, reset my router, etc.).

8 next, before calling Qwest, I decided to see if I could get the printer runs on Windows.  Under WinXP SP2 on a platform completely separate (but), I was able to install the software correctly and successfully a wireless connection to the printer.  I rebooted the machine Windows several times and disconnected the power to the printer just to make the connection is when it was re-powered and rebooted.  And Yes, everything works perfectly on the Windows machine.  It tells me there is nothing wrong with the router (with a possible exception, which I will speak in a moment).

    9. given that the installation worked in the windows box, I decided to call HP.  This time I isn't that hold it for about 20 min.  I told them what the results were in the Windows world, and we proceeded to work on this issue with the Mac for about an hour.  We have made some of the same things, as for the first phone call, in addition to a few other checks.  It simply seems that software on Mac just cannot see the printer, which means that the HP software will be unable to see it as well.  It's very weird because I can still ping and also set up its Web page (on the Mac and Windows machines).  Now technology seems to think that this is a problem with Mac OS because it certainly works with a different OS with the same router.  I'm leaning toward the same conclusion as well.

    10. now for the question of the possible router I mentioned earlier.  I saw in another post where someone says hello.  Something the Actiontec only modems no routing of packets used by Hello.  I have absolutely no idea what the Hello devil is.  I tried to do a little research on this and am still confused as to what it is and what it does.  However, if Hello is something specific to the Mac and has nothing to do with the router itself, then it seems to me that the router had no knowledge of Hello (and certainly would not care).  Therefore, the ability of routers delivers packages for different platforms should not be affected by this Hello thing.  However, this does not mean the packets are not getting lost once they arrive at the Mac because of Hello (again, not knowing what it is).  Now if that's the case, then it seems to me that the problem would be with the Mac (in conjunction with this thing Hello), not the router.

    11. other positions reported this same problem wireless with this same printer using OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard).  If this is true, then when I finally unpack my new iMac, I expect to have the same problem... we'll see when I am near to it.  If he did not have this same problem, so maybe there is hope if I upgrade my MacBook to Snow Leopard.

If anyone has any other light to this problem, please let me know what might be the underlying issue, and how can I fix this (if someone already has).  Thank you.

Finally, problem solved!  Here is the solution, if someone else is facing a similar problem.

Since I found the IP address of the printer on the Web page of my router, I went in "Print and Fax" system preferences.  From there, I clicked on the sign "+" to add a printer.  Nothing appears in the default tab.  So, I went to the IP tab.  From there, I selected the Protocol for the "HP Jetdirect - Socket".  In the address field, I entered the IP address of the printer.  After a few moments, the printer was found and the field "Print using" is automatically filled with the print driver.  I clicked on "Add", and low and here's the printer now appears in my list of printers.

The second representative of HP I was working with me had to go through this same series of steps with one exception.  Never, we put the Protocol field.  He was left as default "Line Printer Daemon - LPD".  When this was done, nothing ever appeared.  So, I think that the trick was to change the field Protocol, as shown here.

I hope this helps those who have a similar problem.  Good luck.

    Hello

Thaks for the use of the forum.

    You can try the following:

Please download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor (PSDR) tool to diagnose and solve your problem

  • Photosmart 5510 - will not print in black ink

PRINTER HAS FAILED - CLOSING OF THE FORUM.

    {title of the origninal thread restored in order to make the more searchable topic}

This is a simple fast recommendation I would try.

Remove the cartridges from the printer. Once they are there, try a hard reset of the printer. Once the printer turns and asks the cartridges, then go ahead and implement what their return.

Follow these steps to perform a hard reset on the printer.

    1. press the power button to turn on the product.

    2. with the product, unplug the power cord from the back of the product.

    3. disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet.

    4. wait at least 15 seconds.

    5. plug the power cord into the wall jack.

    6. reconnect the power cord to the back of the product.

    7. If the product does not light by itself, press the power button to turn it on.

Try and let me know if it helps. If not, there is probably a more serious hardware with the printer problem. Especially if you have experienced already troubleshooting guides. There is still one thing, we can try, which requires a certain type of reset of the printer, but I will have private message you the steps to do this.

If I was helpful, or if you want to say thanks you can click the White Star under my name to give me congratulations.  I really appreciate it!

    Good luck

  • Photosmart c4780, I - Mac - printing Photos

When you print pictures, there are pale lines through printing. What is a cleaning problem? If so, how do I clean the heads?

You can pull the carts and see if they are blocked on the bottom with the ink and other things.

Check the ink levels.  When they become weak, some nozzles do not receive enough ink to the fire.

Check your print quality settings.  It should be the best in the pilot for maximum coverage.

    Finally, try different carts

  • Re: HP Photosmart 5510 - will not print using black ink

I received a WARNING ink level so I went out and bought new cartridges. When I put the new in, black will not print.

I followed all the instructions on my printer, all the instructions of the hp print & Scan Doctor and went out to buy a new black cartridge in the second.

    tracking of document Hp: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03425035

    Still no black printing.

    I cleaned the print heads.

So I have three cartridges of "True HP", two of them nine and no black print.

Are there any other instructions that can be followed to fix my printer? It is more under warranty and there is no way I'm paying for a repair on a printer who leave work when installing a new cartridge.

    @lcaughey

I'll me private message you on this (check in the envelope at the top right)
