Photosmart 5524 - value accidentally system Chinese language

Well, as the title says, I managed to install the printer in chineese, or another language that uses the kanji (which is the proper term? Nevermind, derives from the problem at hand...)

So now I'm sitting here, trying to figure out how the hell to get back to English. Is anyway to reset the system? I can't even install the printer to the computer correctly since I have no idea what the screen tells me what to do...

Some guide here on hp.com said to remove the power cord for 15 seconds, but that did not work.

So if anyone has an idea to solve the problem, that would be greatly appreciated.

I'm sorry if spelling is wrong, the English is not my first language.

Sincerely, Tobias

Hi Tobias,.

Please follow the steps below to change the language of the printer:

Since your front panel of the printer, click on the settings icon, key located at top right of the screen:

Select Preferences , which is the first option in this menu.

Then select Set Language which is the first option in this menu.

Select the desired language and confirm the changes.

Kind regards

    Thank you
Refresh your PC and try again. You might have conflicting desktop applications that are the cause of the problem.
    Here's what will happen:
    • Your files and your personalization settings do not change.
    • Your PC will change back to their default values.

This may take a few minutes, and your PC will restart. Plug your PC before you start.

When I try to get online HP drivers, it does not recognize the photosmart 5524 and offers no upodated software to download. Can I get the software update also? Drivers listed in the HP Web site must be compatible and will help you to install the printer. However suggest you try to install the printer using the provided disks. Unplug the printer, and then run the disks, only when you receive a prompt to connect the printer to the computer using the USB connection or wireless and complete the entire upward. • need to connect hp photosmart 5524 to mac 10.58

It is possible to install a software for printing on my HP Photosmart 5524 since my Mac OS 10.58 runs? The mac is too old to run any OS later

    Hey @chrisc9,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand you want to be able to install your HP Photosmart e-all-in-one 5524, printer on your Mac OS X 10.5.8 OS. Unfortunately this product is compatible with Mac OS X 10.6 or more so you will not be able to install the drivers and HP full feature software.

However, you can try a different driver. I can't guarantee that it works, but you have nothing to lose. Another single driver will give you print capacity.

First of all, you need to get your product on the wireless network. There is only a USB wireless installation for your printer if you would need to install the printer on an operating system supported to get on the wireless network.

Once the printer on the wireless network, on your Mac OS X 10.5.8 computer you can:

    1. Click on the Apple on the top of your window
    2. Select System Preferences
    3. Select print and fax
    4. Under printing and fax more click the (+) sign to add a printer
    5. You should see your product in the list of devices. Select the printer, and then manually select the driver of the Photosmart C5200 series.
    6. Try to print!

The C5200 is only a suggested driver. You can try another Photosmart driver but it's the driver that seems to have worked for other users. Once again, this is not guaranteed and will not support if you need assistance in the future.

If you need to scan, you can configure the HP Eprint Mobile scanning application.

    Scan to email app

To summarize it all, your printer is not supported on Mac OS X 10.5.8 OS. However, you might try another driver for printing and scanning to email Eprint app for scanning. The other pilot is not guaranteed to work and will not be supported by the HP Technical Support if you need assistance in the future.

    Good luck!

  • Notepad - cannot display Chinese language

When I was still with the home version of vista, I have created thousands of Notepad paper using the Chinese language.

However, when I migrate to the use of windows 8, all of these documents could not display correctly.

I visited the Web site in Chinese and when I copy the Chinese character in a new file in Notepad, the document can be saved and reopen correctly in Chinese.

My question is how to display the document that has been previously created?

After trying several different solutions, finally I got the right answer for this, here go us...

    1. go in Control Panel, click on "Clock, language and region"

    2. click on 'Change location' under the heading 'Region '.

    3. go in the "Administration" tab, then click on «change system locale...» ", then select"Chinese ".

    Fact!

This solution also seems appropriate to install Chinese Basic applications, but I have not tried.

  • Photosmart 5524: 5524 Print Duplex

Hi, I already bought HP Photosmart 5524. I had a problem with printing and double-sided scanning. After you print the first page, the printer pulls the page and it does not print. If I change manual double-sided printing option, the printer will work correctly.

    Hello, @marek30 - greetings!

Welcome to the HP Forum! It is a wonderful location to converse with the community, get help and advice.

I understand that you need to configure printing double-sided with your Photosmart printer.  Please follow the steps mentioned below and check:

    • Go to control panel - devices and printers.
    • Right-click on Photosmart 5524, then select 'printer properties '.
    • Select the tab "device settings".
    • Ensure that the "two-sided" is set to "Installed" rather than "Not installed" and save the settings.
    • Now, again give a right click on the printer icon and select "Print Options".
    • If a "Printing shortcuts" tab is available, select the option "Print on Both Sides" or «print double-sided (Duplex)»
    • If 'Print shortcut' is not available, click the "Layout", "Includes" or "Finishing tab", depending on which tab is displayed in your version of the driver.
    • Locate the "Print on Both Sides" or "duplex printing" menu or an option, then the option link or page flip depending on whether you want the document reads like a brochure or a Tablet and save the settings.

That should do the trick. Let me know!

    See you soon

  • Photosmart 5524: MGP1CN1610AR update the Firmware on HP PhotoSmart 5524 on September 14, 2016 broke wireless printing

I have a question which I believe is related to the MGP1CN1610AR firmware update that was released on September 14, 2016 and auto installed on my HP Photosmart 5524.  Since the update I can print is no longer my laptop Windows 10, or my iPhone with iOS 10.  I can, however, send an e-mail to my HPEPrint account and this shows with success - which proves that the printer is connected to the internet and WiFi.

My network is provided by my BT HomeHub 5 with BT infinity.  The status of router, the printer displays intermittently as connected then disconnected.  This is since the update of the firmware.

Is it possible to restore the firmware on the printer? OR is there a known solution to get my WiFi printing works again.

    Hi RTD_HPUser,

    Thank you for your answer!

I'm glad you found a solution that worked for you. About the firmware, as long as the Web service is enabled, you can select the icon Web Services, settings, and then select printer Update, then the update is automatic, and turns off. This will prevent the firmware update on the printer.

If you are unable to reach a resolution, please click on accept solution. If you appreciate my help, please click on the thumbs up icon. The two icons are below this post.

I hope that answers your question!

  • Photosmart 5524: Sweep ends only when go HP printer Asst. ; used to scan automatically

Just for the last 2 weeks or so, when I go to scan a document to my computer with a Wi - Fi, the message ' computer does not, check network connection is displayed. I have virtue to solve the problem and the analysis, after going to the Printer Wizard, manage the scan of the computer, and then disable and then allowing once again the analysis to the action of the computer. Why is this and I go back to auto scan the prinetr again? Is this something to do with the recent Microsoft updates?

    Hey @Palmyra3,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that you are not able to use systematically the "computer scan" function on your HP Photosmart 5524 e-all-in-one printer to your computer Windows 8.1. I would like to help you today with this problem of communication of intermittent scanning. Now, because you are able to go in and manually enable the option 'analysis of the computer' and it works fine (temporarily) we know that your software and drivers are correctly installed and that you have no such conflict of wireless communication. I think a background on your computer or a firewall program can cause the conflict of communication bidirectional scan.

To solve this problem today can I please have you click here. When the page opens you will be taken to the paper Support HP for a computer"not found" or an error message "Connection error" message.

The steps that I want you to pass by are going to be a little out of order that the document States. Please run through:

Solution 5: Search for critical updates, hotfixes, and firmware:

The only available for your printer update is update the firmware of the printer HP Photosmart 5520. If you click on the link provided you can upgrade the firmware for your printer and test again the front scan function.

Solution 6: uninstall the software, run Disk Cleanup, turn off background programs, configure the firewall and then reinstall the software:

Please start by step 4: turn off programs running in the background and again test the scan function. If everything works fine now that a program running on your computer background is at the origin of the conflict. You can leave your disabled if you want as the background programs. Programs on your computer will work fine, they just used automatically running in the background of your computer.

If the problem persists, please browse: second step: delete unnecessary files and folders with disk cleanup, step 3: restart the computer, and fifth stage: Configure the firewall under Solution 6

If the issue still persists, as the race through Solution 2: download a tool to fix the problem automatically

Please let me know if the steps I have provided resolve your problem of communication of scan. Good luck!
