Photosmart 6520: Miss username and password to access Photosmart 6520

Miss username and password to change security etc. by web app to the printer

I understand now. You are in the built-in Web server and can't access the Admin settings. In order to reset the password to the parameters, we need restore default settings of network on the printer, and then reconfigure the printer to your wireless network again. You can use the following steps to restore the default settings of network on the printer;

  1. Tap the icon of the small key (settings) you see in the upper right of the touch screen of the printer.
  2. Press the wireless Menu.
  3. Navigate to restore the default settings of the network.

Once restored, go to the Wireless Setup Wizard in the Wireless Menu and reconfigure the settings.

  • Machine Vista "frequently", but not always, ask user name and password to access the public folders on the XP machine.

    Location:

    4 x Vista computers
1 x XP computer acting as a server file, all the data in the "shared folders".

All 4 Vista computers were to access shared data on the XP machine for two years without problem. All of a sudden this week one of the Vista computers "Frequently" but not always ask for a username and password to access the machine XP - not only shared folders, but still a list of shared resources on the machine XP via my network places is the result in the box of "connect to" request credentials to appear. All 3 other Vista machines have no problem to access the XP machine, so the problem must be with the a Vista machine.

To put a spanner in the works as I have said in this case "Frequently" and by that I mean probably 9 of the 10 connection attempts. Let's say, you can see the name of the computer in my network places, you double click it and have asked for credentials, cancel the attempt and to repeat 4 or 5 times and then you could get display shared resources without going into the details of connection. For a few minutes, you might be able to access all the shared data and to navigate through the folders, but then all of a sudden have asked you credentials and can not access to anything, even the files accessed you seconds before.

Lets say you are able to access the shared folders, you navigate to the Parent folder, then under A folder, then a subfolder B, go back to A notebook, then try to access folder B even once and you get guest credentials, quit out of the network completely locations, navigate back to the XP via Network Places and this machine you not even be able to display all the shared resources on the XP machine.

I've also set up a shared folder on a Vista machine with matching username and password on the machines and the Vista machine with the get the problem exactly the same problem so this definatley Vista machine with the question and not sharing files on the XP machine.

  • The function of master password automatically enter other sites usernames and passwords when you access these sites, or that they are always manually?

Master password enter usernames and passwords automatically, or should the user still manually enter this info?

Yes, after you set a master password, you will be asked to enter when Firefox needs to access your stored passwords. It will "unlock" the usernames and passwords you have saved and Firefox will automatically added automatically in for you when you navigate from site to site.

When you are finished using the web, you can exit Firefox to "lock" your usernames and passwords.

Due to reasons of confidentiality, it is not recommended to get the username and password to anyone, instead, you can use some tools to control your doughter activities. It is wise to talk first with your doughter, I suggest to take a look at:

Inside of Windows 7 and Windows Vista, there is a feature called parental controls, take a look at:

    Hello

I just got a laptop with windows 7 on it and I want to connect to my other PC for it, they are on the same network through a router. the PC can see and access the laptop without asking for a user name and password but the laptop cannot access the PC because it asks me a username and password that I don't know.

If someone could answer this question, it would be great.

    Hello
    Maybe this can help.

Win7 when configured on the peer-to-peer network has three types of configurations of sharing.

Group residential network = only works between Win 7 computers. This type of configuration, it is very easy to entry level users to start sharing network.

Working network = fundamentally similar to previous methods of sharing that allow you to control what, how and to whom the records would be shared with.

    Public share
= network Public (as Internet Café) in order to reduce security risks.

For the best newspaper of the results of each computer screen system and together all computers on a network of the same name, while each computer has its own unique name.

    http://www.ezlan.NET/Win7/net_name.jpg

Make sure that the software firewall on each computer allows free local traffic. If you use 3rd party Firewall on, Vista/XP Firewall Native should be disabled, and the active firewall has adjusted to your network numbers IP on what is sometimes called the Zone of confidence (see part 3 firewall instructions

    General example, http://www.ezlan.net/faq.html#trusted
Please note that some 3rd party software firewall continue to block the same aspects it traffic Local, they are turned Off (disabled). If possible, configure the firewall correctly or completely uninstall to allow a clean flow of local network traffic. If the 3rd party software is uninstalled, or disables, make sure Windows native firewall is active .

    -------------

If you have authorization and security problems, check the following settings.

Point to a folder that wants to share do right click and choose Properties.

    In the properties

Click on the Security tab shown in the bellows of the photo on the right) and verify that users and their permissions (see photo below Centre and left) are configured correctly. Then do the same for the authorization tab.

This screen shot is to Win 7, Vista menus are similar.

The Security Panel and the authorization Panel, you need to highlight each user/group and consider that the authorization controls are verified correctly.

When everything is OK, restart the network (router and computer).

    * Note . The groups and users listed in the screen-shoot are just an example. Your list will focus on how your system is configured.

    * Note . There must be specific users. All means all users who already have an account now as users. This does not mean everyone who feel they would like to connect.

  • Username and password required to access the security settings

I have a HP5520e printer all in one. I'm putting it to scan to my computer. The instructions say I should activate Webscan from the administrator under settings and Security Options. When I try to access the settings of the administrator I wonder a user name and password. Should what username and password I enter here?

    gnomad899,

    Welcome to the HP Forum.

    Start with the standard:

    admin = admin

password = password (or leave the field blank)

This assumes, of course, you have not used EWS (built-in web server) and a password for her before - what you CAN do using the integrated Web server.  Once you do not set a password using the EWS page, whenever you want to watch some settings, set some parameters, you must enter the password that you set up.

EWS is simply the webpage to the printer interface - as if you use a web page to talk to your router software.  Same thing: sort of, except that you type in the IP of the printer on your browser instead of router, of course.

    ============================================================================

    If it won't let you

You can try to reset the printer.   Be aware that if you do this, you need to re enter all previously entered information (wireless settings, etc.).

You may be able to reset the printer on the front panel - settings > settings default (or similar).

    OR

Troubleshooting > troubleshooting > printer keeps no connection Wi-Fi

Fourth step: reset the printer and wireless router and then restart the computer

Follow these steps to reset your printer and your wireless router, and then restart your computer.

  • Access usernames and passwords on windows 7

I called my brother a computer-microbiologist. Whenever someone had a computer problem, it was the "Shell answer man". My problem is that he died and I need to access the information, please, stands at his computer. Is there a way to recover his usernames and passwords? He was well and past in his sleep, so he has left no clues for me. I am his personal representative with the authorization letter (executor in Michigan) and must be frugal, so its funding can be spent there where it is needed most. Clues? If I need professional help please advise me what to ask so I don't spend unnecessary money.

#3 when you say 'find password' you say ' physically where he wrote his password ' or 'find his password in the computer drive?

'Find a written password'. As I said earlier, you can't retrieve a password of Windows.

If you can, check if you can connect via webmail to determine if your email provider working properly on their end.  If you can log in via webmail, then try to remove your e-mail account, close WinMail and compact and repair the database (see www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/) then add your account to e-mail back again.

  • How to restrict access with usernames and passwords?

I'm an intern in a manufacturing company who hired me to do a series of tutorials using Captivate.  The goal is to have a handful of employees (scattered throughout the world) to be able to go to the company Web site and take the tutorials & quizzes that I do.  I played with the advanced options vary a bit to get a feel for them, but I'm not finding what I need.  The employee that the company chooses to take these courses online should be able to sign in with a username and a password for a page that contains the courses listed there.

Should I get our server/Web site managers to code all this, or is it easier (and it would make more sense) to make a presentation of Captivate referring to a list of the specific company e-mail address and allows them only these email address to have a user name and password created for her.  From this point, once the user connects, they see hyperlinks to the online course, they need to take.

Any input on this would be very useful and thanks in advance!

    Close enough...

And LMS is not the ONLY way to follow the scores and information, it is just the most common these days.

Captivate allows alternatives, as for an acrobat.com account as you point out, or you can create a custom report page:

    http://help.Adobe.com/en_US/Captivate/CP/using/WS5b3ccc516d4fbf351e63e3d119e958285f-8000.h tml #WS365a66ad37c9f510-67fa130d1265cad66a2-7fff

However, these methods do not provide for any security from the start.

If your TI people are ready to set up a folder protected by password on your Web server and you configure your lessons to Captivate him make the acrobat.com account or a custom report page, perhaps you could accomplish what you need fairly easily (low cost). However, this approach can specifically permits not to track people. If you have a site with one generic login (i.e. the user: password), you can just about anyone with this user/pass. If you want each user to have their own username and password, which becomes much more complex. Can your IT configuration guy such a login page that syncs with a centralized database users (e.g. Active Directory)?

So how do follow you that user through Captivate so the results of the lesson are recorded for the related user on your personalized page?

It starts to get complicated, so an LMS may be easier:

Moodle is a very popular, free LMS.

    http://Moodle.org

Installation can be something internally (find a server, find people to install), but there are people out there who offer to host it for you.

    Here are some more:

There are also a variety of LMS commercial products out there, costs vary widely.
