Photosmart 6520: old generation cartridges

I just changed my blue and pink ink cartridges.  Now I get the message for the older generation of printer ink cartridges.  These are HP cartridges that I got at Sams Club.  They are just like those in it except here is the XL.  I replaced the with the Sams cartridges before without any problem.  I don't have the packaging.  I bought a few months when I need to replace black.  I had a package of color and black in the XL.  What can I do?  I bought 2 packs you can I just buy more?

I may be able to point you in the right direction for this error message.

According to this document on the resolution "more Incompatible cartridge" Message, the cartridge should be replaced.

Do you know if they are genuine HP cartridges? Anti-Counterfeit HP-identify genuine HP cartridges : HP recommends that you use genuine HP cartridges. HP does not guarantee the quality or reliability of the ink cartridges not HP or full HP ink cartridges. If you don't use a genuine HP ink cartridges, the steps in this post could not solve the problem you experience. We could also see how supplies no HP compared to reloaded cartridges or reconstructed according to the buyers lab report.

I would also see limited warranty for print HP ink and print heads replaceable by the customer of consumables HP inkjet cartridges.

If you believe that the cartridge is a genuine product of HP, Contact the HP Support for help. Check the model number and the form to receive a case number. You can view all the other ways to connect with HP in their list of support Options.

NOTE: HP cannot extend the warranty to cartridges not HP, filled or remade. You will need to return the cartridge for them.

    My printer suddenly decided to not print black ink, the indicator showed still had about 30 percent ink left, but when making the diagnosis of quality black ink pring was incomplete printing.  I did an alignment of the printer and cleaned the printheads, still nothing, black does not print clearly.  I bought a new ink cartridge, of the March 2017 expiry date, did the same steps as above and nothing.  The black box is now completely empty.  My previous printer was a 6510 HP which has begun to do this, and after losing a ton of ink clean print head, etc., I ended up buying just the 6520.  It is now out of warranty as of October 2014, but black ink does the same thing as ink color on the 6510.  I watched throughthe for answers forums, tried to soak the cartridge in case it has been clogged, etc..  None of the above helped me, and I am not interested in buying ANOTHER printer.  Any thoughts?

    One of the questions forum indicated that l ' turn off from one day to the next, sometimes worked.  I turned it off last night and just turned on today, and works in ink!  Not sure if it was the rest overnight or clog with water, but today he works.

    Hello I recently had a new photosmart printer of hp 6520.  However the implementation of the ink cartridges were not in the box.  I was wondering if there was a way around it or if I would be able to get a new set of these cartridges in order to set up the printer so we can use it.   I registered and installed all the software.  the only thing I don't have is the cartridges of configuration to use it.   Thank you for your time

    I read your post on how your 6520 Photosmart did not include cartridges Setup. In this case, you will need to contact HP for the Setup cartridges sent to you, to install the printer.

    Thanks to YouTube, I have set the printer. The screen under the black cartridge has been blocked. He just needs cleaning.

  • Photosmart 6520: Pass a printer ink cartridge to another

    I have two printers of the same model @ our two different houses.  I did this so that I can take them w / me, so they don't dry out.

    Im sure that black is not almost empty but left the impression. Can I change them & have printer to recognize ink levels?  I get the message that I have installed a used cartridge

    The ink level information is tracked in the printer, not the cartridge *.  If you move a cartridge of one printer to another, the amount of ink used in the first printer is not available and the level of ink in the second printer will be 'unknown '.   (And...  If you then replace the cartridge for the original printer it may be also incorrect, since the first printer will not know how much ink has been used in the second printer.

    Photosmart 6520 has permanent non-removable print heads.  You should always leave the ink cartridges in the printer.  If the cartridges are removed and left for several hours the printhead can dry out, ruining the printhead.

    The message here is a troubleshooting document links for the Photosmart 6520.  If steps it do not solve the problem, Please contact the HP Support, even if the printer is no longer under warranty.   If the foregoing is not satisfactory results so thanks for posting here.

    File number and phone number are displayed.

    * There is information stored in the cartridge.  When a cartrdige is almost empty, it is marked in the cartridge.

    Make sure that the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet. (do not use a hub or a surge protector)

    Check for obstructions inside the unit. Check the hinges on the cover.

    There was a similar position two years ago. After changing the cartiridge (564XL) black printing, the printer will not copy documents. He behaves as if I placed a blank sheet of paper on the glass. I can scan the document and print the .jpeg, but not the document. The print quality of everything else is mediocre - very light on blacks, even though the colors are fine. I ran through all the diagnostic tests and he told me that the printer is fine, although the black box on the diagnostic page is empty.     To align the printer from the printer display
    1. from the home screen, tap the settings icon and then tap Tools.
    2. on the Tools menu, tap and slide your finger vertically to scroll through the options, and then tap printer align.
    3. follow the instructions on the screen.

    To align the printer from printing software
    ▲ Do one of the following depending on the operating system you are using.

    On Windows:
    a. in your desktop Start menu, click all programs, HP.
    b. click the HP Photosmart 6520 series folder, click HP Photosmart 6520 series.
    c. under impression, double click on maintain your printer.
    d. on the device Services tab, double-click Align the print heads.

    On Mac:
    ▲ the HP utility open, click on align and then click Align again

    Help, I can't any text in black even though I just put a new hip black ink cartridge my printer. Have tried cleaning, aligning and anything else, he suggested I do.

  • Photosmart 6520: HP Photosmart 6520 will not print black

    This seems to be a common problem for these printers.  Rank of ink so I bought new cartridges and everything prints fine except for blacks.  Diagnosis of print quality page show an empty bar for black.  The cartridges are brand new inks authentic HP.  Thought maybe I had a bad so I bought another black cartridge and same problem.  Have done some research and I saw that a few people had succeeded by soaking the cartridges in the hot water.  Tried it with hot water from the tap for 15 minutes and it will always print in black.  I cleaned the print head 5 times but still nothing.  Warranty expired on 24-03-14.  So 9 months warranty and I have an anchor instead of a printer.  Help please.

    Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I see that you are facing some print quality problems on your HP Photosmart 6520, you cannot print in black ink.

    I wish you continue troubleshooting here: printer does not print black ink or color of ink or prints blank Pages, I understand, you may have made some of these steps already but I need you to complete all the steps in order to solve the problem of the missing black, you encounter.

    Please note: there are three stages of print head cleaning. Three steps if necessary. If the print head is badly clogged, it may require another round of cleaning. If so, wait 30 minutes after the last step of cleaning (third) to start the first stage of the cleanup process.

    If you are unable to print in black ink, I think that the issue may be the printer and not the cartridge. I highly recommend call you our technical support at the 800-474-6836, I'm sure they will be able to help you regardless of the status of the guarantee.     I just bought this printer and had time to implement the eFax. Is it true that the eFax cannot be implemented on a computer Apple? If so, why? It's really disappointing if it's true.

    I have a HP Photosmart 6520 printer which I have owned for almost 2 years of new from Currys and PC World.

  • PhotoSmart 6520 diagnostic print quality without shades of gray

    Have a PhotoSmart 6520 printer which worked fine for 6 months.  Used several black cartridges within 6 months.

    Black ink again ran and to replace the cartridge, new cartridge would not work.  Then put in another, which seemed to work at first, but what any other dark black printing black complete, there is little or not provided ink.  However, it will be still print black text.

    Now, after having changed twice, printer cartridges when you print the page 'Print diagnostic quality', the text prints very well, but grayscale bars do not print.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    I found the answer in the forums!

    The cartridge was not properly ventilated.  I used a knife to scrape back the plastic & covering the evacuation of the adhesive area and it works now.  Strange thing is that we apparently have two or maybe even three cartridges in a row that were not properly ventilation.

    I see that you have trouble with your black ink.

    Please ensure that you have completed all of the steps described in the following document; Printer cannot print black ink or color ink, or prints blank Pages. Although I hope that this solves the problem, he couldn't.
