Photosmart 7510: turn on the scanner only

I scan more print and want to turn on my scanner without initializing the printer function (and therefore waste). can I do this?

The printer functions are initialized when the 7510 is turned on, you cannot switch on the scanner separately.

I suggest that you keep the printer plugged directly into a socket slot - if you use an external switch as a switch taken out of ink will be used when the printer is on.

The Photosmart 7510 enters a low power standby state, you might consider leaving the printer 'on' and leave the management of the ADF to take care of things.  The Photosmart 7510 is Energy Star rated.

  • Photosmart 7510 - I want to use only black ink since I don't have all the need for a color.

Photosmart 7510 - I want to use only black ink since I mainly use this for work and don't have all the need for a color. If I have more ink, can I just replace the black and it still work? Thank you very much for any information you may have!

    Hello

I did a few test last year, you can print black only master always need color ink for the printer. Black setting only as a default printer will only print black and it consumes a little over heating of the process color inks. In short, it will not be printed correctly when run out of color ink (s) or does not start at all.

    Kind regards.

  • 309 has no copy of the scanner only the ADF

By making a copy from the control panel of the IOA. If you place a document on the scanner, it does not analyze. Instead the ADF begins to run looking for something in the charger. The scanner only works if you use a copy of the photo. But then, he uses all colors although it is black and white.

Well, I fixed that. Read the other messages I decided to remove the software from the Vista PC only I had which was not able to print most of the time. I reinstalled the full versio and now the scanner bed active if there is nothing in the ADF. Now, why has nothing to do with the buttons on the front of the scanner is a complete mystery to me. I have 3 units XP, Vista Home Premium and Vista 64 Ultimates 2 2 talk to this device. The unit had already the problem of looking for an extra (last page) every time using the ADF. Which is also healed. I got this a laptop that would never print. So obviously the original installation crashed and burned who sent some bad information to the printer. Again I would really know why there is a relationship between the use of the buttons on the front of the printer and the software on a PC. They must be independent. The only thing that should change the printers functions should be an update of the firmware.

  • Unable to turn off the read-only

I tried to turn off the read-only on a folder in my Program Files (x 86) folder so I can edit a file for a game.  I tried everything I can find on the internet without success.  Here's what I did until now (I'm on an administrator with maximum permissions account):

    1. I tried to uncheck the read-only box.  Whenever I close the properties and reopen, it is checked again.

    2. I tried to run the attrib - r + s function cmd as admin, but nothing has changed

    3. I ran a chkdsk, still nothing

4 changed property in the security properties, as well as assuring you of my account has full permissions with all of the Program Files (x 86) folder. I then tried again the first 2 steps, is always checked.

    Anything else I can try?

What you need to do is Notepad opened by right-clicking on the Notepad icon and then selecting run as administrator.

Then, while in Notepad, open the .ini file.

Change it and then you will be able to save him.

  • Photosmart 7510: Access to the separate wifi network printer

I have 2 wifi networks, for the expansion of the range in my house; We built my router (Fios) fios and others (Asus) connected to the same router via ethernet.  My printer is connected to the wifi Fios network.  When I'm at the back of the House, I connect my laptop to the Asus wifi network but am unable to connect to the printer.  Is there a way to make the printer visible on both networks?

    Hi @lsrothstein,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I see you're wondering if you can access the printer HP Photosmart 7510 of several networks at once. I'm happy to answer that question for you!

The printer is designed to work only on wireless at the same time. So to be able to print to the printer, the cell phone/mobile device must be connected to the same wireless network to which the printer is connected to. think of it as an invisible cable from the computer to the router, to the printer.

This website, HP Wireless Printing Center - basics wireless, goes into great detail, if you are interested.

Hope that answers your question and have a great day!

I solved my problem, NO thanks to HP. Thanks for me!

HP support will serve only a consult...

The driver has been corrupted, corrupt yourself, an incompatibility with daily updates of Microsoft, I do not know what upgrade but here is the solution.

I changed the group from my home network to the public, that the public at home, that the printer was visible on the HP program. So I uninstall all HP programs and use the driversweeper to clean all.

That, I install the complete program with the HP driver as administrator and in compatibility win mode 7 (as I said, I use win7).

    SOLVED by myself.

HP abandons us, I have a high end of my time printer and don't bother HP (it's time laugh you!) HP CARE)

You guys make a driver and programs more accessible Microsoft and compatible! Tha'ts started too much programming at the end as it is, is simply take the best, see for the snippet of microsoft that the discovery of your printer and install, when YOUR programs don't.

  • turn off the ringer only on hp 640 fax

How can I disable only the ringer and not all the sounds on the HP 640 FAX?

    Hi rmkram,

I understand that you do not want to disable only the ringer on the fax. I'll try my best to help you with this.

In the series HP 640 Fax User Guide on page 22, he explains how to adjust the volume.

    Adjust the volume
You can set the volume level for the ringing and the speaker.
    Ring volume
.. When the fax is in ready mode to adjust the volume of the ringer, press on...
Whenever you press the button, it will increase or decrease the volume.
NOTE: The volume of 0 indicates that the machine does not ring when a call is received.

I hope that this information help, please let me know how it goes.

    Thank you

Whenever I turn on my printer, I hit the power button and it begins to start. HP shows the icon and the progress bar goes, but then the screen goes black and it is turned off. He then proceeds to restart and the same thing happens. I got a time show a message and it says use the power button to disable the printer. I hit ok and it died on me and has continued it's restart cycle. I leave for a good 30 minutes and finally abandoned. I had to unplug it so it would interrupt attempts to start. • Photosmart 7510: Errors of inconsistency of paper photosmart printer 7510

I am trying to print my 7510 by using custom paper sizes and get paper mismatch errors.  I use Word for Mac v. 14.4.8 on a Mac under OS X 10.10.2.  I went through all the tips in the HP support pages to try to fix this problem without success.  There is no firmware upgrades or updates of available driver I can find support/HP.  This error is more annoying.  I have not had this problem on my old printers I've foolishly got rid of upgrade to the all-in-one printer. Can you give me any help other than suggests to use the information on the support pages that did not work.  ! have created various paper formats customized in word to see if I could find a magical Assembly which will print and have had no success.  If someone cannot help me solve this problem, it will be the last HP printer that I buy.

Full of hope for some real help.

    Hey @oldgt!

Thanks for getting back to me!

If you see only the media and the quality in the dialog box print, then that indicates that you are using the Apple Airprint drivers and not the pilot series Photosmart 7510.  If the printer does not have the correct drivers, it may not work properly from third-party programs such as Microsoft Word or Adobe Reader.

To remove and re-add the printer using its drivers:

    1. Click on the apple icon in the upper left corner of the Mac
    2. Click on System Preferences
    3. Click on printers and Scanners
    4. Select the printer and press the minus (-) signs below the list of printers
    5. After removing the printer, click the plus (+) sign below the list of printers
    6. Click "add another printer or a Scanner.
    7. In the add a printer window, select your printer
    8. In the drop-down list 'USE' make sure you only select the series Photosmart 7510 and NOT Airprint
    9. Add the printer and try to print again

If please, after back and let me know if this worked for you!

  • Photosmart 7510 alignment problem

    Hello

I'm having a problem with my photosmart 7510.

The screen an error alignment and the alignment and cleaning do not work.

Is there something else to do? or should I buy a new printer?

    Thank you

I called HP support 1-800-474-6836 and spent a few hours with their support to the execution of diagnostic tests.

They recommended a replacement of the printer because basic troubleshooting has not helped.

We power off of the pritner (power disconnected) and held the power button for 30 seconds.

power turned back and removed printer cartridges and printerhead. Clean any electronic contact with a cloth and put back them.

Also replace photo cartridge that was less than 30%.

    The alignment is still not.

  • Turning point for read only files

Folders with subfolders and those without, keep going 'read only' even if with a click right/properties I continues to turn off the read-only.  Why is this?

    By its design.

The box greyed out for a folder means basically nothing, no change, waiting to be used. This is because read-only in the properties of the folder is only used to apply or remove the setting of all the files in the folder read-only at the same time. If you clear the check box and click on apply, then the files in the folder will be deleted from all they have read-only attributes. Like wise, to check the box to apply the attribute to all files.  The place appears again the next time because, once more, you have not used.

Another response of the community of Windows XP newsgroups

  • evolution of the 'read only' to be seen

How can I fix it? ive tried the settings going and changing and nothing will do, it comes back.
