Photosmart B109n: Photosmart b109n install fails on XP PC

Hello

I try to install the above using both the full software suite or driver files only.  The installation fails in the same place every time.  After that the review and accept the step, the software starts the installation, through verification of updates, the download of updates through, begins to apply the updates and then closes without any error message.  I made sure that no other programs are running while I install, including, browser, antivirus and firewall.  I also tried to install with both plugged into the printer cable.

Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Hello @fcb123,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I would like to help you today to solve the installation problem that you experience when you try to install your HP Photosmart Wireless all-in-One printer on your Windows XP computer. Can I please you follow the steps below to get this printer is installed and works properly for you.

Please unplug your USB cable from your computer or the printer before proceeding.

Step 1: Uninstall the drivers:

Even if the installation does not complete, there is a chance that a part of the software package and the pilot has made its way on your computer. For the purposes of troubleshooting, it is important that we have a clean slate to work with. Therefore, I will you begin by ensuring that all traces of the printer has been removed from the computer.

  1. Click on the Start menu
  2. Select the programs (or all programs)
  3. Select the HP folder
  4. Select your Camera HP Photosmart
  5. Select Uninstall
  6. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the uninstallation.

Once the uninstall is complete, proceed to the next step.

Step 2: Check print server properties:

1. click on the Start menu

2. Select Control Panel

3. Select Printers and faxes

4. click on file and select Server properties

5. click on the drivers tab. Click on your HP Photosmart and select delete. When prompted click on Remove only the driver. Click OK.

6. click apply and then click OK and save the changes to driver.

7. close the printers and faxes.

Step 3: Delete the temporary files:

  1. Click on the Start menu
  2. Select run
  3. In the Run dialog box, type %temp% , and then click OK
  4. In the Temp folder, click the first item in the folder. Hold down the shift on you keyboard. Get off a few lines and select another item in the folder. Everything between the two points that you selected while now shift will highlight now. Select the "delete" on your keyboard. Repeat these steps under the files in the Temp folder are deleted.
  5. The Temp folder contains the temporary internet files. None of the actual files or folders on your computer will be affected by deleting Temp files. On Windows Vista, 7 and 8, if a Temp file is always si un fichier temp est toujours utilise used you can simply 'jump' the outdated and everything else will delete successfully. On Windows XP, it is not so easy. You must delete the Temp files into pieces. If a file is always used you will rise the pop is used and the "deletion" process is cancelled. Rate this file which is used and skip the next time you remove a piece. It is a tedious but necessary process for troubleshooting.
  6. Once the temporary files are removed close the Temp folder
  7. Right click on the recycling bin on your desktop and select empty recycling bin

Step 4: MSCONFIG:

Even if you ensured that no other programs are running on your computer when you tried your installation, there are programs that run in the background. One of the background programs may be the cause of the facility to close. Therefore, I will have you temporarily disable all background programs running on your computer.

A program running on your computer can cause interference when you try to reinstall your wireless printer. I'm going to make sure that no program will cause problems, you temporarily turn off background programs on your computer.

  1. Click on the Start menu
  2. Click on run box and type msconfig and click OK
  3. When the System Configuration window opens, select "selective startup" and uncheck load startup items
  4. Click the Services tab, check the box at the bottom to hide all Microsoft Services
  5. Select disable all
  6. Select apply and OK
  7. Computer restart when prompted

Step 5: install the Driver:

  1. Please click here to download the right driver
  2. Once the site opens click on the download button at the top left
  3. If you are prompted select run
  4. Once the download is complete, follow the instructions on the screen to install your printer
  5. Do not connect the USB cable until the installation program invites you to

Once the installation is complete, please test your machine to confirm that everything is working.

Please reply to this message with the result of your troubleshooting. Good luck!

  • Photosmart D110: D110 fails to install on Windows 7 - not found USB harware

    Hi all

I'll put up a new Dell Inspiron 5000 running Windows 7 SP1 and wanted to add a photosmart D110.

I downloaded the full software package of HP, but after the installation starts, I get a message that I have not available a USB device on my computer. It's probably a detection problem since I was on two of the three USB ports without problems.

Now, the printer should be used on the network, so the fact that the Setup program does not detect a USB device should not interfere with the installation.

I'm stuck and would like to know what are my options, if any. Is there a way to force the installer to not seek the USB hardware, or to ignore the error if it is not found?

    Any help is appreciated!

    Thank you

    Hello

Open the start menu and type folder in the search bar, open it showed "Temp folder.

Open the last HP installation folder that begins with 7z (for example 7zs1234)

    Open the installation folder.

You can search usbready.exe and rename the file in usbready.old.exe.

Return to the main installation folder (for example 7zs1234) and double-click Setup.exe, now follow the installation and check for the difference.

I tried manually enabling my windows firewall, but it only that it gives an error code: 6801 in the event log.

I tried to get the operational Firewall (checked its dependencies in services.msc, all are working well)

As sson as the windows firewall is ON, I could install the printer drivers.

  • Photosmart 7520 installation fails

I recently bought a Photosmart 7520.  Printer installs easily on Windows 7 Home machines, but fails to install on my Windows 7 Professional machine.

After you run the Setup program on the disk filled OR run the installer from the HP Web site, I simply can't the printer to install a wireless network connection.  Execution of the resolution of network connection problems, as suggested by the installation of the software does not have a working solution.  According to print the printer network connection diagnostics, my network connection and settings are of excellent and configured.

Try to install the printer through the USB connection on the W7 Pro machine gives a complete Installer, but no notification works between my computer and the printer.  No test page will print and no documents are in spool it print.  I am unable to access all the features of the window "Devices and printers", rather than meet a error that says "Operation could not be completed.

Remove the printer from the list of "devices and printers" and try a manual install via dialog boxes OS give an error "printer driver has not been installed, access is denied" when I try to reinstall the driver.  When I use the driver that is already installed, you receive an error stating 'unable to install the printer, some driver files were missing or incorrect.

OK alex, the error you are getting "printer driver has not been installed, access is denied" seems to be a Windows problem. Something on your computer prevents the drivers from being installed correctly. See the link below for more details.

  • Photosmart Premium c309g fails to print - product number CD055A

Operating system - Windows 7 Home Premium - Hardware is a laptop

Error message - Document cannot print

Changes to the system - None until the problem occurred

Wireless printing worked very well; then suddenly unable to print.

    1. have uninstalled and installed the printer drivers and the solution Center

2 solution Center shows printer is connected

3 analysis function works correctly in scan mode

    4. the ink levels are displayed correctly

5 scan doctor indicates all functions work correctly

6 print in Photosmart Office on line Ethernet router to the printer

7 have you checked the network (domestic) IP addresses; Looks OK, also supported by the fact the remote scan document works

8 HP update indicates all functions of driver is up to date.

    9. tried to follow all the built in troubleshooting guides

But, when a test page prints in the properties of the printer or the Scan Doctor (even though the doctor scan gave all the controls green), the test page will not print, and finally the error "Unable to print document" appears in the solution Center. Process seems to timeout and then displays the error message.

During the process of re-setup the only thing that I have noticed and which may be out of the ordinary, was the printer to be selected was noted as "wired". The installation process then set up the wireless connection and noted that the all-in-one printer has been connected. But so do print function does not work and the remote scan function.

I see an another item which is strange. Two icons of the printer are set up in the printers and faxes. One is HP Photosmart Premium c309g and HPFDFC41 (HP Photosmart Premium c309g-m). Why two Photosmart devices?

Followed all the recommended steps. It is interesting to note that during the installation of the full feature printer was still noted as a wired connection. However, the network connection has been implemented and worked successfully.

Encountered the same problem. State of the document scan and ink has been authorized; but they could not print a test page.

A ran the doctor printer and Scan; all boxes have been checked green.

A run the hardware installation wizard. This time the S/W noted that the printer has a wireless connection. The analysis of test ran successfully; but the case of test printing, after several seconds, resulted in a 'document cannot print."  This seemed to be the idea or the "a needle in a haystack" for me, the error was apparently issued on a timeout.

Has looked for something else (outside drivers etc.).

    The solution:

McAfee firewall, after several years, it has failed and has chosen to block the printer communication, while leaving all the rest alone. I had not changed any settings or authorized programs.

McAfee is no longer with me. Am to assess competitors. In the meantime have enabled the Microsoft Firewall. Can print successfully from the laptop through the router to the wireless printer wireless.

I know just enough to get me in trouble, so don't know if HP diagnostic tools should have picked up the fact that communications were being blocked or not. But, I appreciate the comments and troubleshooting tips.

I hope that fixed the problem.

  • Should what Version of Photosmart I install if I 10.6.8 BONES and HP Deskjet F4280

    Photosmart C3100 series

    Photosmart C4100 series

    Photosmart C5100 series

    Photosmart Pro B9100 series

    Thanks for any help!

    Hi Shlomi,

In fact, we had already installed the same driver package, you suggested.  But when we looked at the HP software installed in the Applications folder was not.  A day or two later, when we looked again the software HP was right there in the Applcations folder.

You are correct that we have tried to install PhotoSmart package isn't what we need.  And you were also correct about the driver package, you suggested.  Scanning works now.  But still no successful printing.  The printer and the software indicate that the ink levels are full, but it fails to print.  I think that we need new ink cartridges.  We have tried to clean the heads, but it did not help.  No ink at all is being printed.

If you have any other suggestions, we're all ears.

    Thank you

    Jessica

    P. S.  Our problem is solved, but we cannot find a button Kudos or problem solved.  Thanks again for your help!

  • Photosmart C4780 installation fails at the "system cannot find the file specified."

My problem began simply with your printer, a HP Photosmart C4780, who has always had a wireless connection and would not print.  Initially, the checked network connection fine control panel of the printer.  I ran a Microsoft printer troubleshooting, which found a block in line print and authorized.  The first test page print, but did print the "internal test page.  I did not understand what it meant, so I looked for help on the HP site.

I ran the HP print and Scan Doctorand he suggested I have reinstall the driver.  I have downloaded and saved the current HP (PS_AIO_06_C4700_USW_Full_Win_enu_140_175.exe) and then uninstalled the existing driver.  When I tried to install a new, a window pops up saying "the system cannot find the file specified," with only a single box for click that simply says "OK".  The installation went through 'examining installation options', after entering "check updates, download updates, install updates" and then it was all in "audit system", who jumped out of the window "file not found" upwards, and when I clicked 'OK', the installation window as well as the error message box simply disappeared.  Which I suppose is the path to the file is under the window, but it didn't fit so he showed not the end.  What I read was "C:\Users\... \Local\Temp\7zS588E\Setup\.\Setup\hpzpnp40...»

I found a topic on the same printer model for the same problem in the forum, which offered this hotfix:

You must first complete a level 3 of the software uninstallation. I've included the steps below to do this.

    1. press the Windows key and the letter R
    2. type %temp%, and then click OK
    3. open the 7z folder (a more recent if there are multiples)
    4 open the util folder
5 open the folder of the ccc
    6. double-click on the Uninstall_L3

Once you have completed the Uninstall_L3, delete all of the items listed in the temp folder. Note, you will not be able to remove all the elements, please ignore those that do not. Then please empty the trash and perform a clean boot. I've included the document «How to perform a boot in Windows» If your computer does not request it, restart your computer.

Once your computer is back, you must reinstall the printer software. You can do this either by using the Setup CD, or by downloading the software.

I did what was suggested, until he got to the point where it says it was the case recommend not removing any more items if I had intended on using the HP Officejet printer (Yes, I have a second HP printer connected to the network) anytime in the future.  Not really understand how it all works, I decided to stop what I was doing, so unfortunately it has not solved my problem.

Do I need to uninstall both printers HP before I can reinstall a?  And if I do that, is there a reason that I wouldn't be able to reinstall the two printers?  Looks like I'm asking trouble.  Bottom line... I can not install the driver.

I tried to install the full versions and the driver base and still get the same result.

I have a HP Pavilion dv6 - 3100t for computer laptop, running Windows 7 Edition Premium, version 6.1.7601 family service pack 1 64-bit.  I have not installed new hardware or software.  This printer has always had a wireless connection.  The router I'm using is a Netgear 54Mbps WGR614 v6 (provided by my cable company) and the network includes not only my laptop and the Photosmart printer, but also desktop ASUS, HP printer, an Officejet 6300 series (used only for printing graphics and photos via a wired to the router) and a chip on Vizio TV.  I use Norton 360 first Edition and disabled the antivirus auto-protect when I downloaded and tried to install the driver.

Help, please!  And thanks in advance for your time and your attention.

Oh, Jamieson, it worked!  I can print again!  A massive amount of thanks and congratulations to you.

I couldn't believe it when he actually passed the point where it normally would stop the installation, but then almost at the end, upward jumped «Fatal error during installation»  My excitement sank into a depression.  He said while the installation was not successful and he needed to collect information in order to diagnose the fault.  I looked at what has been collected, and it was more or less gobblety-* beep * for me.  There was a code of 19714722 error condition, if that means anything.

Then he placed on my desk, the "Error of Installation HP - Windows 7.hta" file and instructed me to do away with the current window, restart, and then open the file and move forward with these guidelines.  I did and he basically had me to restart the computer once again, and then turn the printer off, unplug the printer, then unplug the router, wait 30 seconds and then plug the TAA - DAA and back in, I'm back in the business of printing.

Thank you very much for your time and patience.

All the best to you and yours!

I bought a HP Paviliion TouchSmart 23 - h056 all-in-one new and the touch screen worked flawlessly.  I then installed a 7520 of HP Photosmart all-in-One printer/scanner/copier and the mouse pointer works on screen, but to the touch on the screen no longer works.  The system came pre-installed with Windows 8.1.  Help, please!

Hi and thanks a lot for your suggestion and the quick response!  It was the same driver.

Finally, what has worked, it was that I had tried a reboot, but not completely executed a stop down and pressed the button at the top of the screen to turn it off.  I then pressed the button to turn it back on, and then worked on the touch screen.

You are very kind and competent.  Thank you.

  • Driver software HP Photosmart c4780 installed on windows 7

I have a windows 7 64-bit OS and I try to install the printer software.  Initially, the software begins and the place where it looks for updates it just disappears.  I see nothing in the task manager leading me to believe that he just stopped.  The first time I tried to install the software it really hooked at this point and I used the Task Manager to close.  Since then he disappears.  I also tried to install the drivers manually, but there is no printer not under Hewlett Packard or HP photosmart C4700 when you go down this path in Windows.  I also looked on the HP site, but all they provide is downloading the full software.  Needless to say that I can't print with this PC because Windows does not recognize when you plug in USB, and even less wireless.  Interestingly, the network HP printer utility is no problem and then reported the same software that crashes for the installation of the drivers.  Any ideas on what I can do?  I tried everything what HP list under troubleshooting without success with the last suggestion is to post on this forum.

I think that the compensation on the temp directory did the trick for me, see this step of binding support HP 3: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00836418
