I am very frustrated! I can't get my Photosmart 6515 print black ink.
Our school sends the documents by e-mail now that we have to print at home. Ideal for them, but not for me. They are usually in PDF format, so I do not have the ability to edit and change the blue color to print, either.
I only use HP cartridges on this printer. I know it's more than a year, in order to call phone support will do no good.
I replaced both cartridges and now it shows black ink completely full, but when I print the printer status report, black is not displayed. Black does not appear on the tool pages, either.
I tried the command "clean printhead" several times. I unplugged and waited. I took all the cartridges. Connections look clean.
What should I do to perform a partial reset or full?
I understand that this has been a frustrating experience for you, and I want to help him.
I will send you a private message, please check the little envelope on the upper right of the forums page to check your Inbox of Forums.
I use a printer wireless Photosmart 6520, no printing or copying in black. Replaced by the new cartridge and still
Does not work.
I see that you have trouble with your black ink.
Please ensure that you have completed all of the steps described in the following document; Printer cannot print black ink or color ink, or prints blank Pages. Although I hope that this solves the problem, he couldn't. As you have a 6520, if the problem persists, I would suggest appellant HP support by phone even if the printer is out of warranty you may need a replacement printer. The number of call HP is 1-800-474-6836 for the Canada and the United States, or you can Contact HP worldwide.
Please let me know if the document solves the problem, or if you called HP and the outcome of the appeal. Thank you.
I have a B110 phosmart for 3 years and it has worked perfectly until last week.
All of a sudden, the black ink is not printed correctly, in other words, there were white lines in the text printed, so I thought I should replace the cartridge, and so I did. However, even with the new cartrdige, the problem persisted.
I cleaned manally head of black ink, but it did not work. I have also run the utility several times to clean the print heads, but I did get no result.
If initially, I got only the problem of the white lines in the black printed text, after several cleaning cartridge in the printer utility menu, I did get no black print at all.
So I thought that the problem had to do with the set of printheads slot, so I replaced it.
But, unfortunately, after having changed the entire site of printheads, I can't always print in black.
I normally got the other characters of colour, but not black.
What could be the reason?
Please note that I already read all the pages on the standard resolution (http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02046460).
Thank you for your help,
Solved! I am even more convinced of obsolescence are scheduled for my printer.
I solved my problem and you know how?
I have "dupe" of my printer.
The print heads are in good condition (I bought new print heads) and I had already perfectly cleaned up the chip in the printer. So why not print?
Whenever I changed the entire site of printheads, printer makes a procedure of 'mysterious' duration of 4 minutes.
After changing several times the new and the old sites of print head, printer has started printing black ink, again initially lightly, then normally.
So, what happened? As I said the printer was quite in the right order, the inks were original and I had followed any other procedure.
I have the same problem as many others: my printer has stopped printing black. The colors are ok, and I tried to what is suggested in the paper, ink levels check and evacuate on the cartridge, by running the print head clean program. Nothing has changed, no black printing or copying.
Yhe warranty has expired. Is there something I can do?
Hello! Welcome to the @lauf forums.
I read on the way to your your Photosmart 5515 is more printing in black ink. My suggestion to you, would be to read similar here to my colleague @HevnLgh on another post, and I would say following the same process that she mentions in this post: Re: light printing ink black
I hope this helps you!
Have a wonderful weekend
Printer just stopped printing black. seems to be a major problem for these printers. curse you HP. Thought I did everything by going with you allows to replace my other printer.
POINT OF SALE. Bought the new printer. Here's how I solved it.
I replaced all ink cartridges. Makes 3 automatic print head cleaning. Some manual cleaning of the internal left side and print head cartridge. After all that black did not improve, it is a very pale grey. A print of the photo has no definition in all colors. The Canada geese have blue/grey neck when the true color is black.
Yes, I tried to soak the head print, but WITHOUT success. I spent almost 2 hours with a HP technician on the phone again through all the testing process. The result was this 3 year old printer in the trash. The tech (Joy) was 'extremely' helpful and plesent to work with. She gave me answers to all my questions on a future purchase.
I'm done with this question - the printer is trashed.
I read the suggestions of what to do if you have print heads could remove that do suggest you for the 5512. I did the reboot and used the "clean printhead" on the printer several times. Still no black, other colors are fine. It was working fine until I replaced all cartridges. I did not remove the old cartridges until I put new in. Help would be appreciated.
Thanks a lot for your interest and help. I think my problem is resolved. I ran the tool "to clean the print heads" three times and started to see results. After that it runs three other times the printer seems to work well. Of course now I used all my color ink cartridges new, but at least I don't have to buy a new printer! Thanks again.
My printer prints everything but black clearly; I put in a new cartridge and run the head cleaning nothing works. Is it possible to clean the head for black to hand? Help! I have things that I need to print!
Thank you! It was easier and less likely to damage if I just bit the bullet and replaced it! I may need your help in the future with the HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 - stay tuned
My photosmart 6510 does not print in black. I presume that it was the cartridge but I replaced the cartridge and it still does not print. I cleaned the print heads and the cartridge ink levels are full.
The printhead, cleaning of the screen failed touchscreen printer running. But when I sat down at my computer and used the program utility printing, he did. I ran an initial print head cleaning my computer and then clicking the button indicating that the print heads were NOT clean. He then ran a deep cleansing process. Then I lined up the printheads of the same print utility program. Now it works!
Black doesn't print not... except on the print quality diagnostics page where the text and black frames around boxes all print in black. Inside of the 'Black' box is empty, however. When I try to print a page of type, it is either totally empty or very indistinct. How is that possible?
I saw three other posters with this same problem, everything from 21/01/14 and no answers to the problem. All the patches of troubleshooting on the Web page do no good.
My warranty has expired also. Is this a systemic problem? How do we get fixed?
Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
I understand that the black is not printing on the computer but prints partially on the diagnostics page.
I'll be happy to help you.
I don't know what you have tried so far the fix, but I included a few documents to go through the steps to see if we can solve this problem.
This printer has a permanent print head. You can always run however of cleanups on the print head.
This document is intended printer does not print black ink or color ink or prints blank Pages.
Here is a document to clean the contacts of the cartridge.
Please let me know the results if you are still having problems.
You use genuine HP cartridges?
Check the date on the cartridge to make sure that they are still in warranty. (not old stock)
What are the ink levels?
If you like you can print a new diagnostic test page, scan it and include it in the post, I can take a look to try to find a way to solve this problem.
Thanks for posting on the HP Forums.
This seems to be a common problem for these printers. Rank of ink so I bought new cartridges and everything prints fine except for blacks. Diagnosis of print quality page show an empty bar for black. The cartridges are brand new inks authentic HP. Thought maybe I had a bad so I bought another black cartridge and same problem. Have done some research and I saw that a few people had succeeded by soaking the cartridges in the hot water. Tried it with hot water from the tap for 15 minutes and it will always print in black. I cleaned the print head 5 times but still nothing. Warranty expired on 24-03-14. So 9 months warranty and I have an anchor instead of a printer. Help please.
Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I see that you are facing some print quality problems on your HP Photosmart 6520, you cannot print in black ink.
I wish you continue troubleshooting here: printer does not print black ink or color of ink or prints blank Pages, I understand, you may have made some of these steps already but I need you to complete all the steps in order to solve the problem of the missing black, you encounter.
Please note: there are three stages of print head cleaning. Three steps if necessary. If the print head is badly clogged, it may require another round of cleaning. If so, wait 30 minutes after the last step of cleaning (third) to start the first stage of the cleanup process.
If you are unable to print in black ink, I think that the issue may be the printer and not the cartridge. I highly recommend call you our technical support at the 800-474-6836, I'm sure they will be able to help you regardless of the status of the guarantee. Photosmart HP 5520 - black ink does not print even with the new cartiage and I did the printhead, cleaning tools and still does not work. My warranty expires and don't know what to do next.
Hello heartieluvcatsand welcome to the Forums of HP.
I understand that you have problems with your black print the result. I recommend you to perform a power reset. Unplug the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug back in the printer. Make sure that you connect the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any surge protector or power bar.
After the reset, I would say using this document on fixing of the streaks of ink faded prints and other common Print quality problems
I also suggest the steps described in this document printer does not print black ink or color ink or prints blank Pages.
Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting operations. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums!
I replaced the cartridges of color with authentic products on my Photosmart B110a. Until then it worked perfectly. Now it prints shocking images of color in pastels. Does not print black which is 3/4 full. I use a Mac. I powered by printing, computer, uninstalled and reinstalled and still no luck.
Test pages print works and the colors appear. I cleaned the print heads. I have re-aligned heads too. Help, please!
