Photosmart C309a don't scan

My C309a don't scan:

-When I press the button on the printer, it is said there is a problem of scan and told me to "try to start the scan of the computer, refer to the documentation for more details"

-When I open the HP solution on the Office Center, it says it cannot run because "your device isn't complete... Please connect the USB cable or re-run the form progam setup from the installation to a network installation CD... If it does not complete the installation or you do not have the CD to access the HP help files by clicking on the start menu.

-J' uninstalled and reinstalled the software from the CD - it did not work

-J' downloaded the new drivers from here:

-J' tried and then install the device. I clicked the USB cable option, rather than wireless or ethernet options, and when I clicked 'Next' he told me to check the cable USB is plugged in and the unit was powered. he wouldn't let me go forward even if I put the computer turned off and removed the USB cable before trying again and reconnect them

-l' printer prints perfectly fine USB cable... it's not just scan!

-I had not moved the USB cable to a different USB port... still no joy

In response to my own Announces 1/2 day later.

HP Photosmart C309a will not computer scan.  The HP Solution Center does NOT open.  Can print but cannot open the HP Solution Center and command the C309a to scan a document.  Using Windows 7.  Tried to download new driver and also used the original installation disc without success in the restoration of the HP Solution Center that is used to control the printer to perform analyses.

 

Click the Start button on windows at the bottom left

Click "all programs."

Clicked on "HP".

Under "HP" clicked "Photosmart C309a Series"

Click 'add a device '.

A program was launched which has detected my existing C309a and when he was finished the HP Solution Center has been restored to its previous working state.  I did this using the wireless connection.  I always have not plugged the laptop in the wired connection on my desktop that I don't want to get out of this comfortable chair and address this issue more. He now works in wireless mode, and that's good enough for now!

    All-in-one Photosmart c309a printer not copy remotely or print any of the programs on my pc.  It will however print alignment and test pages when I tried the troubleshooting by HP solutions centers, troubleshooting guide.  I can't even print when the printer is not connected to my pc.  All the ink levels are okay.  Any ideas?  Thanks in advance for your help.

    Thanks for the reply. If the blank pages issue persists after you run the utilities mentioned in the first post; I would like to look at this document here. It will address the printer print blank pages and provide troubleshooting steps to try to solve this problem.  Regarding the USB error message, I have a few more questions to ask. What is the exact error message? Appear on the computer or the screen of the printer?  What is the operating system of the computer you are using with the printer?

  • HP Photosmart C4680 don't scan

    I have a HP Photosmart C4680 that does not scan. It can print and copy things perfectly, but if I try to scan, it gives me an error message saying "error analysis. Try scanning from compurter or see the documentation. I've been watching other messages of the forum with similar questions, but can't find what they describe on my computer.

    I am currently using a Dell with Windows 7 computer.

    I don't know, but this could be the result of the disc it came with the impossibility to install (it says only Windows XP and Vista).

    I have a hp photosmart c4680, the functions of the printer and copier are working well. However, it will not open scanpro and does not scan documents or photos on my Mac. I uninstalled and reinstalled the printer and still the same issue.

    As you mentioned that you have the HP Scan Pro application, the software is not intended for OS X 10.6.

    Make sure you completely remove the software as follows:

    * Please note that the following steps will delete all HP software installed.

    1. click on menu go (click the desktop, then watch the menu in the bar at the top of the page)
    2. Select Applications
    3 select the Hewlett-Packard folder
    4. double-click on uninstall HP application
    5 follow the uninstall to prompt to select a device to uninstall
    6. press and hold Ctrl + Alt + Cmd keys on the keyboard at the same time as you click on uninstall
    7 approve any prompt to uninstall all HP software.

    Next. Download and install Snow Leopard software below:

    After completing the installation. Make sure to restart the Mac and install the updated HP by ringing the Apple icon and the software update.

  • Photosmart C4480 don't scan

    After using the C4480 a year without problem it suddenly doesn't scan.  I have a MacBook with OSX10.5.8.  It prints but won't copy or scan.

    The scan function closes and start-up instructions by default.  If I try to scan from the printer, I get the message to try to scan from the computer.  Nothing happens when I copy.

    I have:

    unplugged the C4480 off my MAC, everything turned back.

    b. uninstalled the driver, downloaded the driver from the HP site, reinstalled

    It still does not work.

    Any ideas?

    I fell on the map because I got exactly the same problem. Another thread has provided a suggestion and it worked for me.

    -Download the full software from HP Photosmart Aio for Mac OS X features. It's the HP Suite for Mac. It will probably look a little bit different than what you currently have installed (it was for me).     -Once installed, unplug the power cord at the back of the C4480 for a minute.

    -Plug it in again.

    -Launch HP Scan and am trying to scan a document or photo.

  • Photosmart C4400 don't scan

    I just connected a HP Photosmart C4400 on my mac mini with Mac OS X 10.6.2.

    Printing works fine but when I try to scan I have a message "unknown error."

    I tried reinstalling the software a couple of times without success.

    Is it possible to get this all-in-one to scan?

    Where have you installed the software?  If it's from the CD for the printer, it is for 10.5 and earlier only.  Uninstall in this way:

    Go to Applications/Hewlett Packard / click Uninstall HP
    Click on continue
    Highlight your device in the left pane
    Hold down the Ctrl and Opt Cmd and click on uninstall
    There will be a pop up that asks if you are sure you want to uninstall all hp software. (At this point, if you continue, all HP printers you have installed will need to be reinstalled)
    Click on continue and let it finish

    Now run a software update.

    Then, remove and reinstall the printer in System Preferences, Print & Fax.

    You do not have the software now since Snow Leopard as well print & scan drivers built-in. scan from Preview apps or Image Capture. Scan from the front panel of the printer does not work yet.

  • HP Photosmart C309a does not scan wireless

    I read the old post of what is resolved, but the solution did not work for me unfortunately. Essentially, everything works except the ability to scan wireless. I get the following error "Sorry, an error has occurred" at half way through the process. Physically, I can hear the sweeping move!

    I tried to remove and add the printer and also tried to reset the system print, but in vain. I discovered I am able to scan wireless using the built-in scanning server by entering the IP address in my browser and should be able to do it by pressing the button on the printer itself or directly from HP Photosmart Studio to do that, but I have. None doesn't seem to work, and I get the same error message.

    Any suggestions? I have an iMac with OS X 10.6.2

  • Photosmart 6520: Photosmart 6520 don't scan at ALL

    I downloaded and installed all the drivers.  I ran the doctor print and scan. I unplugged and rebooted several times.  My wifi works fine.  My IP address is updated/correct.  It won't scan at ALL, no e-mail, not at the computer, not on a SD card.  Printing works fine.

    Hi @AEB424, welcome to the Forums of HP!

    I'd love to help you analyze. Because you can not scan to a SD card, in addition to not being able to scan to the computer, I can't help but wonder whether the issue has to do with the printer hardware. You are able to perform a stand-alone copy? If you can't make a copy, we will need to give priority to the material. If you can copy it, I'll gladly help you to continue to troubleshoot the problem.

  • Photosmart C3140: Don't scan after update to the Mavericks on Mac

    After updating my Mac to the Mavericks, now my printer not scan.  It will print, however. But when I try to scan, I get this error message:

    Cannot perform the analysis because another program has control of the HP imaging device. Try the following steps: start the program again. Close all programs that might be using the device. Restart the computer.

    I did everything above. I have also turned off the printer and unplugged for a few minutes. I rebooted several times. Thanks for any help you can offer!

    Thanks for your help. I have a successful solution of Apple that I wanted to share with other people who may have this problem - it involves an impression through the preferences system, a bit bulky but not too expensive:

    Go to system preferences

    Printers, Scanners &

    Choose Scan from Print/Scan above the name of the printer

    Open scanner

    In the dialog box that appears:

    Make sure that "scan to" say where you want to be saved, otherwise you can not know where TI saved.

    Press Scan.

    (If the dialog box opens to the top immediately, please be patient.)

    I want to add the solution Center HP to be able to scan documents to my wireless laptop.  I've loaded and installed the last HP software for the printer HP Photosmart C309a on my new computer laptop of Toshiba.  I was able to print from Word and Adobe Reader, etc., wireless, but I can't access the printer through the HP Solution Center to scan documents. I am told that installation of the device is not complete.  Then...

    ... When I try via "add a device Photosmart...". "the software detects the printer, but every time I try using (connected with cable) ethernet or wireless, after the network diagnostics, it will fail.  I did at least a dozen times.

    Another laptop with the same software is close is connected via the wireless and works perfectly.  I'm working on that won't work.

    I would try to uninstall, reboot, then reinstall the printer software.  There should be an uninstall icon in the folder/printer HP in the group '' programs. ''

    If you have other software installed HP printer that you don't use I would uninstall that as well.

    My wife and I are both using iMacs. It is Mountain Lion running, I'm running the Mavericks.

    I checked the updates and we run all the current software.

    We have both access the printer using bluetooth.

    A week ago, we both noticed that the SCAN option disappeared from the Photosmart c309a system pref window.

    I tried to delete the printer, rebooting and then reinstall the printer, the problem remains.

    Attempt to analysis the computer to the printer display panel results in a message on the printer saying "start the Scanner from the computer" as it has always done.

    Print still works fine, so I don't think it's a problem of bluetooth.

    Can't find the answers in the support forum.

    This would mean that there is a hardware failure in the machine, but only with the wireless radio. As you know, the printer works still but not wireless. You can certainly still connect via Ethernet or USB for printing and scanning capabilities well.

  • HP Photosmart c309a: HP Photosmart c309a will not re - install

    I had printing problems with my HP Photosmart c309a. The print queue says printer is offline. I did a few things that have worked before, unplugged the printer and plugged, computer, etc.. So I decided to uninstall the printer and reinstall it. It worked in the past. I can't get the printer to re - install. I download and installed the drivers, still would not re - install. I used the CD that came with the printer to try to re - install, but it is said that the Windows operating system is not compatible with this printer. I have Windows 7 (64-bit) and use this computer with this OS and this printer for four years without problem. Any suggestions? The system would update yesterday. The OS is Windows 7 Service Pack 1, 64-bit.

    Please become a member of the HP's Support Forums. I understand that you have a problem with reinstalling the printer. I would like to help you to solve this problem today.

    If Setup USB, please disconnect the USB cable from the computer.

    If wireless make sure the WiFi light on the right side is on and solid.

    Here is a link to download HP printer install wizard for Windows. It will check your system and find the best software to install.

  • HP Photosmart C309A wrong size paper to print wireless from Mac OS 10.7.5

    We connected our HP Photosmart C309A AllinOne printer on a wireless network to our Mac computer running Mac OS 10.7.5. Almost whenever we try to print from any propgram he respnds with the following error message:

    Paper size error: paper selected in the printer driver does not match the paper size in the printer input tray.

    I have reset the size of the paper to the printer to letter 8.5 x 11, updated all the software of the computer and checked all the preferences.

    What should I do next?  The printer worked fine with 10.6.

    I suggest to reset the printing of your Mac system. Then readd the printer printing & scanning and test again to print.

  • HP Photosmart C309a: Hp Photosmart C309a print issues

    I bought a new Black XL cartridge and installed, but after printing for a day, it will not print black ink. The level indicates that the cartridge is half full with ink.  I aligned the print heads and cleaned the print heads. I used the Print and Scan doctor on the computer, but is to show that everything is fine. I'm running out of options to solve the problem.

    We have several printers (HP and others) on our cable network LAN and 3 months ago, we bought a Photosmart C309a.

    This device freezes on a regular basis when starting an analysis, as well the printer itself or HP Scan Pro. When the printer is NOT connected to the local network, it's never cold. Of course, then scan to a flash drive.

    After more than 3 months of troubleshooting, after installing two replacement printers, I think I have found the root of the problem:

    Our router re-boots once every 24 hours in the night. The next morning, HP SCAN PRO sees no more, the device even if the device's built-in Web server is always available to Safari, the device does not appear in the "HP Device Manager", the utility printing as well as software widgets all work and can be printed. Even worse, the accidents of printer software and remove plug from power for the re - start. When you run the wizard to install HP scanner work again until the next morning.

    You have an ADSL router?  What brand and who is your ISP?

    I assume that you have an IP address assigned to the printer.  That being said, we're going to make an adjustment:

    1. Open the printer's internal web page by accessing its IP address
    2. Internal web page of the printer, select Networking, wireless (802.11), then IPv4 addressing.
    3. Delete the entries for the default gateway of manual and the manual preferred and other DNS servers.  Leave these empty and press on apply
    4. Turn off the printer and all computers.
    5. Turn off the DSL router. Wait 30 seconds, turn on the router.
    6. Wait 60 seconds and turn on the printer.
    7. Now, turn on your computer.
    Let me know if it works to allow scanning and fax while the printer is connected to the network.
