Photosmart C309g-m requires Mac restart after sleep

Hello

I use a new 24 "iMac running Snow Leopard (10.6.3 version) and an all new HP Photosmart Premium C309g-m and each time the Mac wakes up from sleep, or I change username, then the only way I can get the printer to work to restart the Mac. Both are related to the USB connection.

I tried to install the following drivers:

(1) the CD supplied with the printer.

(2) the drivers for the C - 309 m

(3) the latest version of drivers 11.0.0 dated 2010-02 to: software HP Photosmart full feature and drivers - Mac OS X v10.4, v10.5, and v10.6

None of this changes anything.

There is not much point in having a printer that requires a reboot to print so I would be very grateful if anyone has any suggestions - other than the printer back!

Best regards

Octantly

Given that you have installed the software from the CD (meant for 10.5 and earlier only), it may have messed you up.  We will uninstall this way:

Go to Applications/Hewlett Packard / click Uninstall HP
Click on continue
Highlight your device in the left pane
Hold down the Ctrl and Opt Cmd and click on uninstall
There will be a pop up that asks if you are sure you want to uninstall all hp software. (At this point, if you continue, all HP printers you have installed will need to be reinstalled)
Click on continue and let it finish

Now run a software update.

Then, remove and reinstall the printer in System Preferences, Print & Fax.

You do not have the software now since Snow Leopard as well print & scan drivers built-in. scan from Preview apps or Image Capture. Scan from the front panel of the printer does not work yet.

  • iMac restarts after sleep

Problems lately with my iMac 27 "5 K. After putting to sleep, it is restarts after about 2 hours.  If I wake up it before that date, it is usually very good. But after 2 hours, it restarts. Sometimes, I find it just be stopped. Most of the time when it restarts itself, it crashes with this gray bar filled about 80% progress.  I have reset the PRAM and EMS, checked all the settings in power management (not set to restart after power failure for example).

Another problem I 'bypassed' which may or may not be related (I'm including in case it is related) is that on El Capitan, my magic trackpad would randomly wake the iMac.  I had to disable the option to allow devices BT wake up the Mac. When I upgraded to Sierra, the iMac still wake up randomly due to an event of BT. After a lot of trial and error, activate the option "allow bluetooth to computer devices" back prevented the wake-ups at random and let me wake up the computer again deliberately with the trackpad.  Very strange.

In any case, I'm usually pretty ingenious to resolve this sort of thing myself, but the Console to Sierra news is terrible. Or maybe it's the system logs that are terrible, because I can't find anything about the causes of previous judgment that might provide a clue as to what is happening here.

So, any advice on how to solve the problem or at least to determine the causes of the previous stop would be greatly appreciated!

This particular screen means that your Mac could not find a valid system folder from upward. I recommend that you try reinstalling OS X using OS X Recovery. Please follow the steps below.

To boot from OS X Recovery, hold down the command (⌘) r immediately after start-up or that you restart your Mac. Release when you see the Apple logo. If you can not boot from OS X Recovery, now try the Command + Option + R key at the start of the OS X Internet Recovery*.

  • All-in-one HP Photosmart Premium C309g-m requires the password wireless

All-in-one HP Photosmart Premium C309g-m we recently had to ge to a new Westell router for the wireless. the printer connects when we put the password but anytime the commection to the router go out it will not reconnect until the password is released. He seems to forget the password.  System indicates that the software is up to date for the printer.

    Hi ckmcgraw,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I see that you have recently changed your wireless router and now when he loses the connection, you must enter the password on your HP Photosmart C309g to reconnect to the wireless network. The reason why this could happen, it's every time, it loses the connection to the router assigns a new IP address, which would require a password for the network.

You can set a static IP address for the printer, which should solve your password entry wireless every time, he loses the connection. See the steps below:

    • Print a network from the front of the printer Configuration Page. Note the IP address of the printer.
    • Type this IP address into a browser to reveal the internal settings of the printer.
    • Choose the network tab, then wireless along the left side, then on the IPv4 tab.
    • On this screen, you want to set a manual IP address. You must assign an IP address outside the range that the router sets automatically (called the DHCP range). If you do not know the range, change the last set of numbers (those after the last '.') 250
    • Use 255.255.255.0 for the subnet (unless you know it's different, if so, use it)
    • Enter the IP Address of your router (on the Page of the Network Config) for the gateway.
    • Enter for the first DNS 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 for second DNS. It's Google DNS. You can choose a different external DNS if you wish.
    • Click 'apply '.

Please let me know the result, I hope this helps!

  • with 10.11.2, Mac Pro 2013 wakes up not 4 k shows up after sleep as before.

I installed 10.11.2 today and found that the Mac Pro wakes up not 4 screens connected to the thunderbolt ports k. I tried many kinds of 4 k screens, including u28e590d, u24e590d, p2716q etc., but none of them is waking up after sleep. the only resolution is to disconnect and reconnect the thunderbolt (view port) cable a thunderbolt different port.

these screens all work perfectly with 10.11 and 10.11.1.

    Steps to reproduce:

1: having a Mac Pro 2013, configurations and install 10.11.2

2: Connect a screen 4 k as u28e590d to the thunderbolt port, using mini-displayport cable.

  • Mini Mac waking from sleep. A SOLUTION.

I had the same problem that everyone has:

Mini Mac won't sleep, requiring a shutdown and restart.

I found the cause of my problem. This solution has been tested.

Your system may differ from mine, but my solution can give you some ideas to try.

My system: Mac mini (mid-2011), running Lion.

On March 19, the eve of the day when the problem started, I sent a print job on my printer.

The next morning (20 March) the problem started and happened again on 21 March.

Exact symptoms seen: screen switch mode; However energy saving, the computer never goes sleep (front panel LED rest of suite, throughout the night, did not have his usual pattern of sleep slow breathing).

In particular, the "system.log" file shows the usual "alarm maintenance" wake up every 2 hours. The newspapers just go quiet.

    Impression triggered the problem:

My printer is a recent model Brother laser printer.

    Since March 19, I had been using Control-P to print documents;

However, at no time I turn on the printer; my intention was to accumulate my impressions for several days,

After that, I planned to turn on the printer and do my print and send all at once, for efficiency.

It helped me: this solved my problem:

March 21, I was wondering if something in the print queue prevented from sleeping.

Experimentally, I opened app leader brother printing and deleted the print job in the queue,

and BINGO, I instantly found the opportunity to sleep and wake my Mac mini.

Other tests have shown that the problem is reproducible at will. :^)

On 22 March, I tested the mini to ensure he sleeps and wakes.

Then I sent a print job to the print queue, leaving the printer off and tried to sleep the computer.

The problem comes back immediately: the display fell asleep but the computer does not.

Then I connected ssh via LAN and issued:

    % lpq

for the number of working the print job, then

    lprm % [jobnumber]

to clear the print queue of the printer.

This delete the print job, and the computer went to sleep immediately.

Moral: They say devices can prevent sleep.

Well, it shows that a device can prevent sleep without even be turned on!

Tip: If you * must * stop your mini, first try to connect to the local network via ssh and issue the

    sudo shutdown - hour now

for a stop more ordered by limiting the risk of data loss.

PS. usually I can solve any problem of sleep if I ssh in from a different computer and question

    killall % ScreenSaverEngine

but this does not work in this case.

This object could be turned into a 'trick' - If you want to.

Given that it is useful and not directed towards another user in a response.

    Thanks for sharing!

  • Some applications does not respond after sleep (El Capitan)

Product: 13 '' Macbook Pro retina (12.1) (base model sheet)

    El Capitan Version: 10.11.6

    The problem:

When I connect after that my Macbook went down, I often have problems with some of the stock apps. In particular, I had this problem with the Mail Messages, reminders and calendar. This seems to be a problem when they are open before putting the macbook to sleep. This same problem happened with non-apple-stock applications.

Once logged in, if I click on the application icon, the application window will come into focus. After that, I'm unable to use the application (as if frozen) and I often just see the spinning Rainbow mouse icon.

Can I force quit the app and then open it again, but now the application does not load.

To solve the problem, I can restart the macbook and all is well.

Some others probably associated with funny things I saw (only attracted to this once... but did not look at one time or another):

I open the calendar application after the macbook was sleeping and my full general calendar was empty (which would be nice if it were true!). In any case, I checked the 'accounts' and also found that there was no accounts! (I have 3 goes). So I wonder if there is a problem with the accounts after sleep since these apps I've had problems with all iCloud account and mail also uses some other accounts.

Big Question: Is there something I can do to make that happen?

Thank you very much for your help! Sorry if this is a double post, it is difficult to find an answer via google search.

Start Safe Mode removes the system caches that can help...

Follow these steps to start in safe mode.

    1. Start or restart your Mac.
    2. As soon as you hear the startup tone, hold down the SHIFT key.
    3. Release the SHIFT key when you see the logo Apple appears on the screen.

After the Apple logo appears, this may take longer than usual to reach the login screen or your office. This is because your Mac performs a check of directory of your drive to boot in safe mode.

To leave safe mode, restart your computer without pressing any keys during startup.

Then try to Message, Mail, etc.

If you still have problems, check the startup disk.

Launch the disk utility located in/Applications/Utilities

Then select the disk to boot on the left and then select the first aid tab and then click run.

  • iMac 5K Kernel Panic after sleeping - sorry to ask but who could really do with help

I really like my iMac 5K, but only in recent weeks when I turn it on it says it has restarted after a problem and as I click for him to report to Apple.

I tried to read the report of kernel panic, but I feel completely out of my depth. I count myself as being quite well in these things, but I have no idea where to start and to be honest, that I find myself just feeling angry every time it happens. It seems to only happen when I let him sleep through the night, kind of a night time entry!

Below is the latest report of crash for diagnostic logs. Please could someone make some sense of it.

    I thank very you much.

  • Accounts, lost after sleep

    Hello

I have a problem with the accounts.

After sleep, the Macbook loses all accounts and applications such as mail, reminder, notes, calendar, Safari,... are suspended and do not respond.

The only solution I found is to restart the Macbook.

After the reboot, all accounts keep popping up.

Below, a screenshot with the accounts.

This screen is empty after sleep.

    Hi Damien_D,

Thank you for your participation in the communities of Support from Apple.

It seems that your MacBook Pro behaves unexpectedly after he wakes up from his sleep, and you cannot use Internet accounts until you restart.

I recommend going through these troubleshooting steps If your Mac does not sleep or wake up when expected. (Although the title of the article is different from what you see, the steps can help yet.)

    • Reset the SMC.
    • Reset the NVRAM.
    • Disconnect external devices other than your Apple keyboard, mouse, and screen. If that solves the problem, gradually reconnect your devices, testing each time until you find the device that interferes with sleep. And then check the documentation that came with the device or contact the manufacturer of the device.
    • Start in Safe Mode to see if the problem is related to startup items not Apple, login items or kernel extensions.
    • Try to isolate the problem by using a different user account.

    Best regards.
