• My hp photosmart C4680 will not go into stand by mode

  My printer will go in standby mode it prints blank pages approximately every 10 minutes and goes on all day and night the only way to stop is to turn off the printer. Has only started doing the last two weeks. Have rebooted and makes no difference. Anyone know what I can do to stop it.

  Welcome to the HP Forums.

  Generally, when this kind of problem happens, it has to do with a problem of power or in most cases, are missing.

  Please make sure you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a bar/power strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer for example, but it is intended for HP products in general. Please click the link which explains the problems when connected to an uninterruptible power supply/Strip/surge protector power.

  When the printer is connected to a wall outlet, and it is running back, please use the power button to do a proper feeding cycle.  This will make a partial reset on the printer.

  Hi all

  My printer does not print (the document is sent to the print queue, but is never printed) and either copy (it just says: "copy" on the screen, but it never does).

  It has been a few months since I use it, but it worked perfectly the last time I did...

  Any suggestions?

I have no problem to install the drivers because they have already integrated into Windows. But it would be nice to have software that tells me when the ink will run out, so I know when to buy more ink. Basically, it says that I can not install this software in "Run As" mode... ", which I am not. He says I need to be connected to an Administrators account, but I am logged in as one. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know.

  I suggest to disconnect the printer from the computer, uninstall the drivers, then download and install the driver HP recommended here.

• Missing cartridges on Photosmart C4680 printer... It work?

  I have a HP Photosmart C4680 printer that appears in great shape.  It was given to me by a third party.  The two print cartridges and power cord are missing.  I have no idea if this printer will actually print.

  1. Assuming I can start her, is it possible to determine if it will print before you run out and spend the money on 2 new cartridges?
  2. Can I use a power cord to similar research?  I have one who comes from a different model of printer but seems similar.

  There is no way to determine if the printer print without cartridges from the printer. If the cord will work for the printer you use.

  I just bought a Photosmart C4680 with a new Mac Book Pro in September. Printing and copy functions work well, but whenever I try to scan I get the message "an unknown error has occurred" and the scan is canceled out by the software itself. If I try to start a new search, I get a message that there is a communication problem with the scanner... I tried to restart, stop, change USB ports, uninstalling the software and reinstalling, nothing works. Any ideas?

  Don't know what the guy said in German, I hope this helps you as well.  We saw this especially when there is a conflict between the old and the new software.  People will automatically run the software on the CD when they set up a new printer.  The problem is the CD is under 10.5, you don't specifically mention what OS you use, but you got the Mac in September, I'll assume it's Snow Leopard.

  Anyway,.

  Uninstall in itself is not always solve the problem, so there is a 'scrubber' in the software that really cleans things.

  Go to Applications/library/Hewlett Packard / click Uninstall HP

  Click on continue

  Highlight your device in the left pane

  Hold down the Ctrl and Opt, as well as Apple and click on uninstall

  There will be a pop up that asks if you are sure you want to uninstall all hp software.  (At this point, if you continue, all HP printers you have installed will need to be reinstalled, this is why we do not run this thing all the time)

  Click on continue

  Let the brosseuse it is.

  After that, add your C4680 with printing and fax and let the operating system to search for updates and others. If it asks you if you want to download them, accept you.

  I have an all in one printer, the HP Photosmart C4680. Aparently my warranty expired, and support staff can only help me if I pay, blech! So I hope you guys can help me. My printer on each hour and half/2 hours turns off and turn it on again. Now, when he comes on, he's doing it is small thing to beep, but it does not start. The HP symbol will appear on the screen with the little bar downstairs, but then the screen turns off, beeps, and for this, the cycle starts again.   Usually problems like this are caused by poor nutrition. Make sure that the printer is connected directly into a wall outlet. Using a surge protector, power strip, or backup power can cause the printer to act up. If this does not help, follow the instructions below to shoot bad food.

  What a pleasure to receive a response. Unfortunately, took all the steps without success. You took note of cliqueti noise that continues after all the inspection. I observe that the rattling noise occurs when the transport is on the right side of the printer. When you move the carriage to the left & with a flashlight, I saw a black glob in the extreme right under where the transport would be. What key it seemed to be a deposit of black as ink. Do not think that this isn't the ink as empty cartridge or showing empty.

  The printer has served faithfully for time Believe + 5 years came for the replacement. However, t would be nice to know how this has happened.

• HP Photosmart C4680 problem

  In recent days, I noticed that my Photosmart C4680 is blower bike itself on and off.  Anyone else have this same problem?

  Just do the repair. It was a bad capacitor on the logic board (TEAPO brand). There's that one to replace on this printer and it will probably look like curved on top (which indicates which are blown).  It is 330uF 6.3V, but I got in a little bigger (16V, whatever they had in 330uF) and it works perfectly now. It's an easy fix, if you aren't afraid of soldering a component. It will cost about 60 c with a value of components. (and a kit of solder so you do not have a)

  Open the scanner cover and the door of replacement ink. Reach behind the control panel and gently push a clip for the exit sign. He will reveal a hidden torx screw. There are four total screws to remove the top, and you can use a torx bit, or if no practice, the right to an allen key size.

  Once you get the top up the rest of the printer, you must pull carefully on some connectors that attach to the logical map of its orbits. Some are simply Ribbon connectors and some wire connectors. Set the top aside.

  Identify the bad capacitor on the Board by checking the upper surface. It is a green, a thin color that says TEAPO on it and if it is indeed the defective component it must feel to be curved on top.

  Remove all the other connectors on the Board and unscrew 3 torx screws to remove the Board of Directors of the printer.

  To unsolder the bad capacitor, it can be easier at first it break so you can extract each lead with pliers, one at a time when the application of heat on the side welding.

  Respect the polarity, the negative side (identified by the sign on the new capacitor less) on the shady side to the Board of Directors.

  Solder the new capacitor, clip wide leads, any excess back together. Your ' e did!   Good luck!

• Photosmart C4680: Photosmart C4680 on homegroup printer-considered, but not scanner

  My home network includes a Dell XPS-18 running Windows 8.1 Pro and a Toshiba Satellite running Windows 7 Home.  Our Photosmart C4680 is connected to the Toshiba by USB.  It is shared and is available on the network.  It is used by the XPS for printing and never a problem as long as the Toshiba's online.

  However, I can't find a scanner.  I used it for printing without having to install any software.  When I couldn't find as a scanner, I have installed on the XPS, the HP software suite which is available for download from the HP site, in the hope, there was a special driver for scanning, which would be added.  But that does not change.

  The Toshiba can scan from the C4680.  And I can connect to the XPS via USB and also find a scanner by, for example, opening Paint.net and go to "file |" Acquire | From a scanner or camera.  But when the printer is shared via network it is not considered a scanner on the XPS, although I can print to it.

  How can I use it as a scanner on the network?

  MS Windows alow God a printer or files and folders, there are not any sharing scanner capabilities.

  Scanning can only be done from the PC that have plugged USB cable, to scan multiple computers, you will need a network connected device, it can be done with a USB device.

• HP Photosmart 3210 will not install on Windows 7 Pro 64 bit.

  HP Photosmart 3210 will not install on a brand new desktop running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit.  I downloaded the latest software, and when I run it, the installation window disappears shortly after it starts.  No error message.  I ran into several related issues lately.  I can't install a ScanJet 5590 on a new laptop running Windows 7 Pro 32-bit.  Said it ends, but nothing is installed.   Could the fact that there are other HP printers installed on these computers (network printers) installed using driver only before attempting to install the software cause problems?  I spent hours trying to solve these.

  OK, much better progress!

  If the software is always installed, tell him you'll connect later.

  As you mentioned that you have the HP Scan Pro application, the software is not intended for OS X 10.6.

  Make sure you completely remove the software as follows:

  * Please note that the following steps will delete all HP software installed.

  1. click on menu go (click the desktop, then watch the menu in the bar at the top of the page)
  2. Select Applications
  3 select the Hewlett-Packard folder
  4. double-click on uninstall HP application
  5 follow the uninstall to prompt to select a device to uninstall
  6. press and hold Ctrl + Alt + Cmd keys on the keyboard at the same time as you click on uninstall
  7 approve any prompt to uninstall all HP software.

  Next. Download and install Snow Leopard software below:
