Photosmart C4780 wireless set in place the question

Hi all

I tried to implement the Photosmart C4780 to print on a wireless network. I have a pc running Windows XP SP2. When I go through the process of configuring the network device it seems to pass a number of steps with no problems before you throw the following: "the printer attempted to join the network but does not receive any data. This may be caused by MAC address, filtering... "I checked the router settings, router is a Netgear Wgr614 and MAC address filtering is turned off.  I have a number of other devices connected to the network and all have very well connected without tinkering with the configuration of the router.
When I run a wireless network test, she spends the first 5 criteria (Wirless on, working wireless, found network name, security, printer settings in line with the wireless router settings) before failing on the 6 criteria (filtering on).
Any ideas...

Have completed using the USB connection and which works very well but I would like to run without thread if poss.

Thank you for your help. Neil

It's fixed now, everything worked Ok once I changed the WEP authentication type router "Shared key" setting to "open system".

So I bought the HP C4780 printer since it's wireless and said it was easy to use.  Well up to now which seems wrong.

Here is my set up: MacBook Pro under Snow Leopard (10.6.2), Airport Express model A1264 (establishing an access point wireless in my office of the ethernet connection) and the HP C4780.  I know that the Airport Express Terminal works since I can access the internet and the rest of the office network.

Can I use the C4780 fine if I connect it directly to the MBP by USB, but I can't understand for the life of me how to connect wireless (and I don't want to connect the USB cable of the Airport Express Terminal... they are too far away without buying more cables and bat so to the point of wireless!).  All the instructions provided with the printer speak to insert the disc in place and following the installation of HP, but there was a big sticker on the box saying NOT to use the drive as all drivers are part of the leopard to snow... so basically, the instructions are useless.  Then when I look online I see no instructions specifically for Snow Leopard.  It's very frustrating!  I spent all day trying to make heads or tails of the instructions and could never make it work.

Does anyone know of some easy to follow set up instructions?  Thank you!

Try to use the method of the WPS (Wi - Fi Protected Setup) button to connect your C4780 to your Airport Express Terminal.  This linkshows how.

To activate button WPS on your C4780 method, press:

    • Scan
    • Wireless menu
    • WPS
    • Push button

  • Is it possible to connect the HP Photosmart C4780 Wireless printer without USB cable?

    Hello

My family and I recently moved and while moving, something inevitably get lost or left for account.  I am fighting to get this printer and will so I don't have to bother people at the front desk at school to print my documents for me.  I have lost/misplaced both the HP Photosmart C4780 printer software disk and the USB cable.  I have no idea where these things are and have not found them within two months, we've been in the new House.

I solved the issue of the loss of the installation disk by downloading it from the HP site.  My problem is now getting beyond the USB connection and get the currently installed software.  Because I run on a MacBook Pro, it always tells me that I need the USB key to continue the installation.  I'm on a Verizon Wireless router, and I even tried to find the printer on my wireless network with no luck.

    Help, please!

    Thank you.

It's the type of cable you will need (ignore the color of the cable, the ends are the important part).

Have a new router is not a problem, but remember the SSID and password wireless exactly, otherwise it will not work (if you decide to try Method 1). It's a bit like "trick" your printer into thinking that your new router is your old a long enough to configure the network settings for the new (desired).

  • My printer Photosmart D100a wireless continues to change the IP address when the router reboots.

My printer Photosmart D100a wireless continues to change the IP address when the router reboots.

Another idea is to unnstall HP software (using its uninstall program), then restart your PC.  Finally, download the latest version of the software for your printer from the "Support & drivers" link at the top of this page.

Meanwhile, keep your antivirus operational.  The installer configure it for you during the installation of the printer.

  • New password Wi - Fi and the need to upgrade the configuration on HP Photosmart C4780 wireless

We got a new Verizon FiOS router through an upgrade and now have the new network name and password WEP. I use MAC OS X 10.10 (Yosemite) and does not know how I can change settings of the printer wireless to match the new router information. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the printer on my computer, even re-installed the software, but nowhere he gave me the opportunity to enter into new free wi - fi connection settings. Any ideas?

And the FiOS router does not support WPS, so I can't use it, unfortunately. Thank you!

    Hi @8eleven5

There is! If it already has the software installed on your mac, connect the printer using a USB cable and open the HP folder, inside the Applications folder. In the HP folder, find ad open peripheral utility then the HP installation wizard. Run the wizard and choose the option to Setup wireless via USB.

If she didn't already have the software installed, use the following link to install the software, plug the announcement of cable USB Setup will guide you right to the installation wizard.

Once the software has set up the printer to the wireless network, simply add the printer to your 10.10

  • Photosmart C4780 wireless Mac connection failure

I, like some others I've seen messages on, will have exactly the same problem with my HP Photosmart C4780 of wireless connection to my MacBook.  I just bought this printer a couple of days with a new iMac (which I have not yet unpacked, yet).  I decided to see if I could go ahead and get the printer works with my Macbook.  Here is a breakdown of the specs, measures and tests.

    1 MacBook OS X 10.5.8 (Leopard) running.

    2. software is installed.

    3. to set up a wireless connection, the "Device unavailable" error appears in a dialog box.  This is the same error that others have had.  He continues with... "The network configuration has been correctly transferred to the device.  However, to continue the configuration of the device in the network, your Mac must have access to the device... ».

    4. I can load the page HTTP for my router (a Qwest Actiontec M1000) and see the IP address of the printer.

    5. I can successfully ping the the IP address Mac printers.

    6. I cannot correctly load the HTTP page to the printer via the IP address and the view that it is different pages.  I can even change some of the settings, however, apparently never really complete updates.

    7. After talking with HP support for more than 90 minutes (after waiting on hold for nearly 45 minutes, not a joke), we arrived at the conclusion that the modem/router must be the cause of the problem.  So, I was told to contact Qwest to get help.  Furthermore, technical support had me through many of the same steps I've seen on other items (for example, reset the printing system, uninstalling and reinstalling the software, reset my router, etc.).

8 next, before calling Qwest, I decided to see if I could get the printer runs on Windows.  Under WinXP SP2 on a platform completely separate (but), I was able to install the software correctly and successfully a wireless connection to the printer.  I rebooted the machine Windows several times and disconnected the power to the printer just to make the connection is when it was re-powered and rebooted.  And Yes, everything works perfectly on the Windows machine.  It tells me there is nothing wrong with the router (with a possible exception, which I will speak in a moment).

    9. given that the installation worked in the windows box, I decided to call HP.  This time I isn't that hold it for about 20 min.  I told them what the results were in the Windows world, and we proceeded to work on this issue with the Mac for about an hour.  We have made some of the same things, as for the first phone call, in addition to a few other checks.  It simply seems that software on Mac just cannot see the printer, which means that the HP software will be unable to see it as well.  It's very weird because I can still ping and also set up its Web page (on the Mac and Windows machines).  Now technology seems to think that this is a problem with Mac OS because it certainly works with a different OS with the same router.  I'm leaning toward the same conclusion as well.

    10. now for the question of the possible router I mentioned earlier.  I saw in another post where someone says hello.  Something the Actiontec only modems no routing of packets used by Hello.  I have absolutely no idea what the Hello devil is.  I tried to do a little research on this and am still confused as to what it is and what it does.  However, if Hello is something specific to the Mac and has nothing to do with the router itself, then it seems to me that the router had no knowledge of Hello (and certainly would not care).  Therefore, the ability of routers delivers packages for different platforms should not be affected by this Hello thing.  However, this does not mean the packets are not getting lost once they arrive at the Mac because of Hello (again, not knowing what it is).  Now if that's the case, then it seems to me that the problem would be with the Mac (in conjunction with this thing Hello), not the router.

    11. other positions reported this same problem wireless with this same printer using OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard).  If this is true, then when I finally unpack my new iMac, I expect to have the same problem... we'll see when I am near to it.  If he did not have this same problem, so maybe there is hope if I upgrade my MacBook to Snow Leopard.

If anyone has any other light to this problem, please let me know what might be the underlying issue, and how can I fix this (if someone already has).  Thank you.

Finally, problem solved!  Here is the solution, if someone else is facing a similar problem.

Since I found the IP address of the printer on the Web page of my router, I went in "Print and Fax" system preferences.  From there, I clicked on the sign "+" to add a printer.  Nothing appears in the default tab.  So, I went to the IP tab.  From there, I selected the Protocol for the "HP Jetdirect - Socket".  In the address field, I entered the IP address of the printer.  After a few moments, the printer was found and the field "Print using" is automatically filled with the print driver.  I clicked on "Add", and low and here's the printer now appears in my list of printers.

The second representative of HP I was working with me had to go through this same series of steps with one exception.  Never, we put the Protocol field.  He was left as default "Line Printer Daemon - LPD".  When this was done, nothing ever appeared.  So, I think that the trick was to change the field Protocol, as shown here.

I hope this helps those who have a similar problem.  Good luck.

  • Photosmart C4780 wireless do not print wireless

The basics - old iMac dual core, new Macbook (both with Snow Lepoard 10.6.1,) relatively new Airport Extreme, new printer 'Wireless' Photosmart C4780.

Installation/set up progresses to a point, then I get the message "network unavailable. The selected WiFi network is not in range of the aircraft. "The 'device' the C4780 sits 3 feet between the router and showing the strength of the signal higher of all networks in the region.  [BTW - the new Macbook would work wireless from time to time until people e-mail tech support HP's suggestion, I have made an adjustment to the configuration of the router.  Now it works again even if the router settings are returned to their default value.  When you attempt to print wireless from a computer, the printer says it is offline.  I talked to Apple support and they advise that if I can get the IP number of the HP printer, I should be able to configure the printers to work.  HP technical support 'Chat', explains the IP number is assigned by the router.  I've given up o HP Webcam live tech support after being on hold for over a half hour, twice.  HP support 'Chat' is almost exclusively oriented Windows and they send me to technical support of HP "e-mail", which sends an email per day reiterating I already took action.  Sorry for the rant, but this forum is my last hope.  Can someone help me? What can I do to get this working?

Have you deleted and added the printer in the print queue? Let's try it:

    -Sys Prefs, Print & Fax
-Select the printer in question and click the sign less down the list
-Select the sign and add it again.

If this does not work, do the same thing, only instead of the second stage, right (control), click the box of the print queue and select Reset Printing System.

  • Photosmart C4780 wireless installation under 10.6

Well, I have a Photosmart C4780 printer, and I try to get connected to the network. I need to connect it wirelessly because that cable of three feet it came with just do not cut it.

I have no idea how to connect it. I see nothing on the networks in the software of the printer, and the printer itself menus are cryptic and buggy.

Any statement of Mac, I can find is for older versions using the real HP software. From what I understand, if I'm on Snow Leopard, I'll use drivers and the software I already have. The sole instructions of Snow Leopard I can find hidden only setting via the USB port.

Help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

Download the latest version of the software HP here

Run the program and first have the USB cable connected to the printer, you will come to a point in the configuration where you will be asked if you want to configure the wireless printer.  Confirm the configuration wireless and just the follow through.  You will need to know your wireless network security settings and benefit that your Mac is on the wireless network that you want to use with the printer.  It's pretty simple.

  • Photosmart C4780: connection for Photosmart C4780 wireless

I spent two hours through the simplistic menu of the printer, only to print copies of the Configuration Page of HP network and Test wireless network without success reports. I think I made all the necessary steps... such as the restoration's default network.

"Your HP printer cannot find your wireless router. Check that your wireless router is powered. Make sure that your network printer HP (SSID) name exactly matches the network name (SSID) wireless routher yout. If they do not exactly match, run the installation of the wireless network to set up your HP printer.

Well, I have entered my IP address of the router as the url of the browser and connected to my cable account, but was not able to change the SSID.

I also looked at the Youtube page help HP and on discussion forums and tried to use the suggestions.

One who seems to be similar to my situation is this:

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/LaserJet-Printing/driver-for-HP-Photosmart-C4780-for-OS-X-Mavericks/TD-...

I, too, can't find "the HP network configuration.

I also downloaded the Printer Driver HP Patch for my OS.

At this point, I'm not sure that I can do. The other suggestion on this page was to find a friend with a PC. I phone my mother on-site, running Windows 10. I also downloaded its respective driver. I don't know what I should do next. Any help would be appreciated.

BL1, Happy Friday! Looks like someone can be manually dragged into the garbage...? The only thing I can think off the top of my head would be to go ahead and drag the whole folder of HP in the trash and see if that takes care of it. If this isn't the case, it may be easier to reinstall the software to leave the updated software, then go ahead and erases everything the new HP uninstall program.

I bought a wireless CP2025 printer.  I have a Linksys wireless router and the laptop HP Pavilion G6.  I can't the printer for wireless printing.  My laptop runs Windows 7 64-bit OS.  I had to download the driver from the HP website as installation CD would not work.  The printer works with a USB key.  When I pull a not configured IP and report network the State says cable disconnected.  At no time during the installation it asked my network password.  Contacted HP who said contact your network administrator, Hello, this is a home computer, there is no network administrator.   HP basically said, sorry can not help you.  It's so frustrating.  The sales rep told me that all I had to do was connect the printer to the computer and windows 7 takes care to set up the wireless.  Here, any help is greatly appreciated.  I tried to manually set the IP address in and that has not worked.

    Yes, indeed,

According to the specification, this product has capabilities network through a wired connection to the router, it do not provide features wireless by default... some of the models produced provide connectivity USB only (CP2025) and some also offer a (CP2025n, CP2025x, CP2025dn) Ethernet connectivity

Wireless make available using an external wireless print server (ew2400 10/100TX & 802. 11 b / g USB 2.0 external print server), but not as part of the original product capabilies.

  • HFM another set hierarchy in place the question

    Hello!
I need to set up another hierarchy who said ' keep company (a company consolidated level) then company B (one of her children) him. I can see how to set up the hierarchy which would add things together, but not how to set one up that would have subtracted from another entity.

If someone has been able to do this successfully? Is this possible? If so, please help :)

    Thank you!
    Kristen

There is no easy way to do it. You couldn't have something with the rules, but I wouldn't recommend it. Why not establish a hierarchy that omits the entity you want to take away or create a new node that does not include it.
