Recently purchased Windows Surface (RT of Windows). The printer was working fine. This weekend I plugged an extension of router and now the printer does not work and I get a message that the printer is offline. Another section States the PCL is not compatible with my computer. Seems strange to me that the Surface would cause the problem as the printer was working. When I went to download an updated driver on the HP website (Windows 8 and Windows 8.1) they both have indicated is not compatible with the PC. HP site said that posting here may be useful to work around the problem, when there is no driver for the newer operating system. The part I'm confused is why the printer worked for 3 weeks. Seems a very strange coincidence that it stopped working after the installation of the router Extender. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
I understand that the printer was working fine until you have added the Extender to the router. The printer and the computer, that both must be on the main router to work together properly. Try to remove the extension and see if it starts working again. This problem just started. When I print an email, there is a large gap between the message header and the message itself, so that a message of one page turns into 2 (or more) pages. I have an iMac OS X. When printing in other subjects - iPages documents, web pages, etc., this problem does not occur.
If you have Safari 5 there is a nifty little extension that you can download that takes care of your problem. In your Safari Menu, under "On Safari" on the 2nd line is 'Safari Extensions Gallery'. Click this button and then click on the link "productivity". Scroll down and look for 'Print Plus' on the right side. Click here to install the extension of your Safari.
You will need to enter your Safari-->--> Extensions Preferences and activate the extensions on that check "Activate print more." Once active, you will have a small icon of a printer in the top left, next to your buttons back and forth (to the left of the URL box). When you want to print only part of a page, do not press on your normal print button. Tap on this icon and you will then be able to select the part or parts of the pages you want to print, omitting everything else.
Furthermore, this extension is downloadable for free, apparently on Apple. Try this and I think you'll find that very well, he takes care of your problem. I just installed it on my Safari! Good luck.

Have you tried to install the HP drivers, reboot, then delete and add the printer again?
In previous versions of Firefox, print with my HP Photosmart c4780 and Laser Jet 1020 worked well. Now, all that happens is the flow of the page. The pages are blank.
Can you explain if this happens with all pages or only PDF files open with Firefox 29,0? If it's from PDF files, I have been informed that this a bug that will be fixed by an update published Friday morning time Pacific.

I was talking to HP support problems with the latest firmware pushed for the 7520 breach ePrint and network services and they told me that there is an updated release due to be released for download via the software / support site, I was wondering when the new firmware is supposed to be available?

I don't know if / when it wil become available for Mac OS, that's why I suggest you get a Windows PC and update of the printer, if you can have such an or can borrow a laptop to a member, family, etc.
