Photosmart HP 6520
I have this printer and came out just in black ink. I replaced it and it does not give me an error message / black ink levels show that it is complete, BUT black is not printing at all. I followed all the steps to align/clean the head printer etc, I turned off the printer and it still does not. The printer is a little less of 2 years, off warranty... any ideas how solve this problem? I called Best Buy and they said it could be a problem with the print head and can be cheaper to buy a new. I was a long time user of the computer/printer HP and if it cannot be fixed without cost to me, I can never buy HP again!
Since it is a 6520 I would advise to call HP telephone support (even if it's out of warranty) because you may need a replacement. Can you please let us know how you go?

I can't access is more apps on my Photosmart HP 6520. I get the error message "error connection server - 1".
I don't know if this problem just since I recently changed from a Windows PC on a Mac.
I very rarely use the apps, so I don't know when it started.
Everything else seems to work very well I would say.
Can someone please tell me what could be the cause, or if there is something I can try to sort it out?
I seem to be going round in circles, and I can't work on what is happening.

I understand that you are unable to use the pads (Print Apps) on your HP Photosmart 6520 e-all-in-one printer. I want to help you with this. A recent installation of printer would not affect your performance of platelets but no loss of connection or wireless Web services could be a factor.
Note that to access the applications and their use from the front panel of your printer requires two ingredients to be successful: 1) Wi - Fi connection and 2). the ePrint feature (webservices are enabled).
- Touch the wireless icon () on the front panel of your printer - is the printer connected to your wireless network? (If not, run the wireless configuration wizard, select your network name/SSID and enter your password wireless reconnect). If you are connected, proceed as explained below.
- Tap the icon of webservices/ePrint () on the front panel of your printer.
- If webservices are not enabled, press OK in order to enable them and allow the automatic updates of printers.
- This will cause your printer to print an information document describing the characters before @hpeprint.com your printer (ePrint address). This is known as the claim code. As another way to use printing applications available for your printer, you can sign in to http://www.hpconnected.com to program applications printing to print and review all the content that ideally will reappear on the front of your printer.
- From there, you can click the devices tab and use the claimcode to add your printer to the site and take advantage of the available applications, it.
If these basic steps to respond to a resolution, please, try the following:
When users encounter this type of problem in general, I suggest from scratch with wireless printer, webservices, and apps printing configuration. You can clear all of these parameters in a swoop by the factory default restore * your printer.
* Note that this step resets the setting up your printer wireless, address ePrint and other custom print settings. If you have created a custom address @hpeprint.com it is permanently erased. For more information about custom addresses ePrint, click here.
- Front panel of the printer, arrow down and select Tools
- Select restore default
Then touch the wireless icon, run the Wireless Setup Wizard to restore your network connection, and then tap the Webservices () and reactivate your webservices.
If you are able to successfully reactivate your webservices, tap on the icon of your printer wireless () and make a note of the IP address of the printer. Then, follow these steps to configure a manual DNS:
- Enter the printer's IP address in a web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer) and press ENTER to go directly to this page.
- Click the network tab.
- In the submenu on the left, click Networking.
- Then click on the network (IP) address.
- Click Manual DNS server.
- DNS preferred as 126.96.36.199 manual entry
- Auxiliary DNS server entry as 188.8.131.52
- Click on apply to finalize this change.

When I select 'black fast project only', I get a printing color. I replaced the black cartridge and the test print just fine. So everything I do or try, can't do the printer to print black scale and Yes more, I have this default :-).
I use OS X 10.9 Mavericks.
Driver software & installed properly.
Please advice. I have about 400 slides to print for studies and most of them is color pdf, it's expensive to print in full colour.

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I see you try to print in black and white for your Photosmart HP 6520, but since I use Mavericks even if you have defined, printing prints always in color.
I would like that you do the following:
Reset the printing system
1. click on the Apple icon and then click on System Preferences.
2. in the hardware section, click Print & Fax/scanning. Dialog Print & Fax/scan opens.
3.right - click (or Ctrl + click) in the left panel, and then click Reset printing system...
4. click OK to confirm the reset.
5 type the name and the correct password.
6. click OK to reset the printing system. The Print & Fax dialog box shows any selected printer
Note: This will remove all printers in the print and Fax/Scan, any printer deleted can be re-added later by clicking the sign plus (+) symbol.

I'm unable to analyze text editable my Photosmart HP 6520 to my pc HP Envy Phoenix running Windows 8.1 64bits.
It is possible to scan the document to the pc in pdf format.
It is possible to convert the PDF into a Word document, but the text is not editable.
Is anyone able to help me with this please?
Note: I am able to convert pdf files sent to me by e-mail in word with editable text documents.

I understand that you want to scan files editable text your Photosmart HP 6520 e-all-in-one printer to your Windows 7 computer. Because it is a Photosmart printer text editable reading iris (OCR) software does not come with this printer model. In order to have the editable text supported HP options offers you will need to use a model of the Officejet printer. By saying this, you may be able to use third-party software of the seller to scan documents for editable text. You can also analyze your HP Photosmart camera PDF files and use a third-party vendor software to convert the PDF file to a Word document.

When I scan with my hp photosmart series 6520 be0830 scan it in black and white. How can I put it to scan color also.

2. under analysis, click on scan a document or photo
3. when the scan dialog box opens, choose the color from the drop-down list output type (see image below)

Hi, I bought my photosmart Hp 6520 year last, October. But it is no more print black after replacing ink twice. I tried to clean the print head with water and tried "clean print head" in tools, does not solve the problem...
What is wired is that I bought 4 new 564 inks the hp of the target 2 days ago, printed only less than 10 pages to see if the problem is resolved. Then my printer told me that the cartridge is too low... Is this possible?
It makes me crazy now... What is even worse, I used a tool to detect my printer, and he said that is no longer under warranty... But he was only 9 months... How can I solve this problem? Thank you.
The document here can help solve the black does not print on your Photosmart 6520. Be sure to check the vents, as on the three solution.
If this does not resolve the issue I suggest you call HP (1-800-HPINVENt to the United States, see here for details by the way). The warranty online tool is an estimate, they will have a process of updated the status of the guarantee if necessary.
I got the series HP Photosmart 6520 for Christmas. While I'm still not sure how to get my Macbook pro to recognize it... my daughter was able to use it with an application on his phone. We test printed a few things and it works beautifully. So the next time he said a paper jam. We removed the paper does nto seem to be stuck. Always says paper jam. Don't know how to fix a paper jam, when there is no paper in it. Can someone please advise?

Sometimes there is no jammed paper and the printer just needs to be reset. Other times it IS paper stuck somewhere that is not visible. The document that I joined you through all these instances and should get you operational return!

What CD jewel box impression label width and higth suddenly became smaller. It works perfectly until recently. Have uninstalled and reinstalled the printer and drivers, but I am unable to find how re set the scale to 100%. in this hp6520 Photosmart printer.

After watching your @dlddemonscreenshots, I see that you use the HPDD896C (HP Photosmart 6520 series), it is a driver not driver HP class.
I suggest all first to remove this driver and add the printer again. In fact, I suggest to use the following steps to remove the printer from the device and printers and the driver from the properties of the server.
1. in the folder "devices and printers".
2. choose "print server properties.
- Win XP - with no printer selected, click 'File' then 'server properties '.
- Windows Vista - with no printer selected, press 'Alt' and then click 'file' then 'server properties '.
- Windows 7/8, 8.1 and 10 - select any printer in the "Devices and printers" folder and click on "Print server properties" above.
3. click on the "Drivers" tab at the top of the window "properties of the print server.
4. choose the printer that you want to uninstall, and then click 'remove '.
5. choose "Remove driver only.
6. the next screen will give a warning, letting you know that the removal of the driver package will remove it from the system. Click 'Yes' to say are you sure you want to do.
If documents are stuck in the spooler to print, you see an error, cancel all documents waiting in the print queue or try restart the spooler to print, and then try to delete the driver from 'Print server properties' again. If she will not always remove the sachet, restart the computer and the printer should correct this error "in use" and allow the driver to be removed.

Welcome to the Forums of HP's Support. I understand that when I try to print from your iPad using Apple's AirPrint feature that you have found an error output of paper for the printer Photosmart 6520.
I suspect that you are right and the AirPrint feature is that the document is printed as an image file, so it's like a photo manipulation. I have included document Basics AirPrint from Apple. For any additional consultation, I've also included HP How to use Apple AirPrint on a wireless network.

I have a printer HP Photosmart 6520, it was working well until recently. A couple of days it color printing black with lines through their departure or much lighter than it should be. The ink level was almost empty, I bought a new set of 564 cartridges staples (genuine HP ink cartridges). After that I put them in the black was always light and got lighter with each printing. I cleaned the heads a few times, but has not made a difference. Finally the black stopped printing altogether.
I have old ink cartridges, so I put in the dark, thinking that it was not good. Even the old one does not print, so this leads me to believe that the print head is clogged. On this model the head does not come out so I can't follow the posts on cleaning using this method. The printer is out of warranty this HP difficulty is not an option.
Is there a way to clean the printhead without deleting? What other options can I here?
As it is a 6520 I would advise calling the HP helpline a call - even if it is out of warranty, as they will probably provide you with a replacement printer

I use a configuration of Photosmart Printer series 6520 linked to a Comcast Cable modem router /wifi. I use WPA2 security with a long password. (I also tried setting by using the system of the WPS - with changes in symptoms). With this router, the wifi connection I share with
- MacbookPro computer
- iPhone 6SPlus
- 12.9 inches iPad Pro
The symptoms are:
At random times during the day or night, you can hear computer works as if someone sent a print job.
- You go to the printer, and the front panel display is on.
- There is an empty of leaves paper ejected from the printer.
In the night when in bed and all devices are disabled except router and of course the printer, I can hear the printer works and then I wake up the next morning and there is a blank sheet of paper in the output tray. I'm off to put the paper in the paper tray.
I keep the printer on 24 hours a day, because as ink jet printer inks tend to dry out the exposed to natural air. And HP recommends keep printer to prevent dry ink clogging in the head. I understand everything power is suspended unless the circuit warming (and it appeared to work that way until quite recently).
Although it made no difference, I just update the HP Update version 5 driver sent from Apple. It turns out that it is the wasted effort, and I lost my custom configurations because the driver for my printer has not been updated for at least two years. He always uses the version 4.2.5 of the driver. (El Capitan is X.11.6 with the latest security updates).
Printer works fine otherwise. Suggestions?
Yes, it made no difference. The façade has finally exploded but ocassion, it still ejects a sheet or two of paper. Guess it's irreparable. I can live with. Works fine in the case. Just close it as insoluble.
Recently out of no where the my printer suddenly started to only print Word or PDF documents on half of the paper from the printer. By the half of the book, I mean that the checks were printed as if the print settings are to adapt to several pages (probably 2) per sheet of paper. I checked my print settings and it is always configured to print 1 page per side, and then to return along the long double-sided printing side. I also made sure that the paper size defined in the print settings associated with the size of the paper, I use actually in the printer. I tried to reset my printer and my computer, but doesn't seem to work. Any help is appreciated thank you.

I see that your suddenly get a problem when printing from Microsoft Word or PDF documents. I suggest to uninstall and reinstall the HP software if you have not already. If you could provide me with the version of operating system running on your computer, then I should be able to provide the updated software for the Photosmart 6520 and instructions on how to uninstall.

I recently bought a HP Photosmart 6520. I HATE the scanning software that comes with it. Previously, I had a HP Deskjet F4140 and really liked the scanning software that came with it. Is it possible to configure the HP solutions center software that came with my Deskjet F4140 to use with my Photosmart 6520 of digitization?
They are two classes/types of printers. The answer is no.
When you try to install the printer configuration of ink carts have been regected. May be too old. Anyone know of a way to get replacement carts, so I can use the printer?
