  • OfficeJet Pro 8600: OfficeJet Pro ePrint 8600 - cannot select paper tray - HP needs to fix this problem

This is a limitation of the software that HP needs to fix. I bought this machine multifunction largely for two features, ePrint, and two bins to paper. I had released two paper because I often need to print on paper thick and does not want to manually load the cards into the printer whenever I don't want to print on thicker paper. Unfortunately tray 2 is not compatible with card stock so I keep copy regular paper in tray 2 (tray 2 is defined as the default tray) and I keep card stock in Tray 1, which is compatible with cards. The problem and the limitation is when I am traveling and want to use ePrint. Even if my default tray on the printer is 2, which is where the paper is, if I use ePrint to print, HP ePrint by default tray 1, which means that I print on thick paper. This isn't only a problem when you travel. One of the advantages of the ePrint, in theory, is I can print on my desktop at home via ePrint printer when connected to my VPN employers. I've had this machine for two years. It seems that HP would have an update now to solve this problem. So far, nothing. Frustrating!

    Hello @HudsonOH,

Thanks for posting in the forums of HP and welcome.

I understand that you are not able to choose your paper tray of your HP Officejet Pro 8600 Premium e-all-in-one using ePrint. I would like to help with this, as much as I can.

Unfortunately, when you simply send an e-mail to the printer, you cannot change the print settings, because it uses the default settings on the ePrint server.

However, if you have an Android or iOS device, you can download the HP ePrint app. This allows you to add the printer by ePrint e-mail address and send print jobs when you are not with the computer (need you an active wifi or data connection, however). The application also allows to select print settings if you can ensure that you don't waste card stock paper you loaded in the machine.

To download the app on iOS, simply open the app store and type 'HP ePrint' in the search bar.

To download the app on Android, you can open the store game (or game of Google) and search for "HP ePrint.

Once you have installed the application, you can add your printer via his email ePrint:

    1. open the ePrint application and select OK on the demo screens.

    2. Once you reach the home screen, it will show your printer name, or not find printers (depending on whether you are at home with your printer, or on the go). Select this check box.

    3. you will see a tab at the top that says all, select it.

    4. press on the + symbol to add a printer.

    5. Enter your ePrint e-mail address and select Add.

To print using the application, return to the home screen and select an item to print one of the options listed. Note: If you are on iOS, you can even add your e-mail information in the application so that you can print emails.

In addition, you can sign up here for updates on the new firmware and software for your printer, in which case no alternative workaround should arise: stay connected with updates from HP

    I hope this helps!

  • HP Officejet Pro 8630: 8630 HP cannot read the paper size / select correct tray

Installed this new printer after you bought specifically for the two plates that I regularly print on letter & legal size paper.  I am disappointed to see that while I have 'legal' or 'letter', defined as the paper type when I sent something to print from word, the printer just draws in the default tray.  I have no option on my mac to select which paper tray to use when I send something to print.  It seems that the only way I can make the selection of the status bar is to go to the printer and change the default setting of the bins.  It is not at all what I thought I was is & am for the first time, disappointed with a product hp =)

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600 Premium - paper tray automatic selection according to the size of the paper

OfficeJet Pro 8600 Premium, Windows 7

How to setup the printer such as when I'm sending a legal document that automatically selects the tray 2 (legal paper in tray 2). Tray 1 is the default, with letter-size paper tray. In 'device settings' Tray 1 is set to letter and tray 2 has the legal value.

    Thank you!

    Greg

    Hi Greg,.

At present, the 8600 does not support this feature of Microsoft. Unfortunately, there is no work around. You must manually select tray 2:

1 Ctrl + p to open the print dialog window.

2 Select the printer of desire and click the preference.

    3. go tab paper/quality, then select "Tray 2" on the decline of the Source of the paper in the menu dropdown.

    See you soon,.

  • 7410 no option to select the upper/lower case paper tray

I installed the latest version of the software for XP for my all-in - One 7410, but there is no option to select the lower tray.  It shows that "upper status bar.  In the past, she offered tray tray upper, lower, lower then higher, higher than the lowest, etc.  With the installation later, he seems to have disappeared.  Can anyone offer advice to recover my options (to use the lower tray, for example)?  Thanks in advance.

Problem solved!  By chance, I stumbled on the solution of the problem in another HP forum.  There is something lacking in the register, and when you add a key word, the issue is resolved immediately.

I found the solution below Resource Center Forums > multifunction, copier, fax & > multifunction color, then the thread titled paper tray Officejct 7410 by default (as of February 4, 2006).  When I added the registry HPDJEnableSecondTray key as Marshall has suggested, it solved the problem.  As also noted, it seems to be a bug in the software when you reinstall.

I got lucky stumble on this solution after a few searches on Google and write here for anyone else having a hard time to find.

  • Selection of paper tray HP 2600n Auto setting which has stopped working

Previously, my HP 2600n would automatically select the right paper tray... Legal or letter size.  All of a sudden, he selects is no longer the correct paper size automatically.  I have to manually select the number of tray that contains the paper of legal size.  Question: How can I correct this situation so that it will automatically select the correct paper tray?  Operating system Windows VII

Your instructions worked perfectly.  Thanks for the step by step.  Easy to follow.  I left Bravo... I would have done the highest number 1, but I didn't know if it is possible, or how to do it. Thank you.

  • HP Photosmart C4680 paper tray Extender

    Hello

I shot to the top of the paper tray Extender. Now I don't know how to close the paper tray Extender. Does anyone know how? I don't want to break the printer.

The extension of the tray seems to catch something inside the paper tray.

I guess I'm happy for anyone who gets their equipment replaced under warranty, but this seems a pretty silly way to address a minor problem of machanical with a functional device otherwise.

Here's what I did to solve the problem with my C4780 off-warranty:

Find a light and rigid tool which is longer than the distance between the left edge of the extension of the tray and the left edge of the paper tray. (I used a knife to... not very safe bread.)

The tool must be long enough to reach the edge of the inside of the tray Extender to paper.

Insert the tool into the ditch in the paper tray (where the Extender goes when it is closed) as close to the body of the printer as possible.

Press gently on the edge of the Extender that is in the paper tray.

The Extender should give a little. Now it is loose. Remove the tool and close the Extender.

  • Photosmart 7520: Must the Photosmart HP 7520 TWO black ink cartridges (complete and installed) to work?

    Hello

I read a few threads where people are struggling with the question of black ink with this printer. These threads, it seems clear that HP didn't design this system very well, and I would tend to agree. Even if someone said I could find the cartridge (bowtie) smaller at Staples, I can't find it. Even if I could find it, I don't want to have 2 kinds of ink black to store all the time. And my printer does not print black with only a new XL Black 564 installed. Is there a setting I'm missing in the menu where I can choose the XL cartridge only? The manual is not clear on this, and I think it's something that should be clearly explained.

My question is simple, and please, one who answers, read my questions and do not provide a generic incomplete response and then put a little check mark 'Resolved' next to this problem. With 3 wires, that I read on this subject, the question NOT yet resolved or fully explained.

The printer may be used and black printing using only the right XL cartridge or do I need to have both complete and installed black cartridges to work? And a follow-up, the left cartridge (bowtie) should stay there so he works or can I remove it and keep filling the cartridge XL to go forward with the empty to the left slot. If you work for HP and you are reading this and 100% do not know the answer... call someone at HP who has designed this printer and know please let me know.

    Thank you!

The printer requires all cartridges having ink - they don't need to be full, but they all need to be installed and have adequate ink.  The thick black cartridge is pigmented black, mainly used for text and graphics on paper.  Thinner bowtie is the photo cartridge.  It contains dye black ink based and is designed for printing on photo paper.  Black pigmented ink is not compatible with the glossy photo media, black of the photo will be used in cases where the photo paper is selected in the driver or detected automatically.

The Photosmart 7520 has separated from the inks and printheads, with plumbing to connect.  All inks must be present to prevent air intake in the plumbing or the print heads and keep the printheads from clogging.  See here for more information on using ink.

    Hello

Thank you for using the HP Forums.

The resource relevant next will show you how to put in tray 2 by default and with the good paper sizes:

HP 8740 stand (installation and using the 2nd status bar)

HP Officejet Pro 8730/8740: Install and use a bin by default to 'copy '.

  • Photosmart HP 7520: Do not copy

Highest shown work in the office and our Photosmart HP 7520 will not copy. Used the automatic feeding system and the setting on the glass. I tried to color and BW. Document will display in the preview, but will be a blank page when you select copy. Tried a difficult start - same results. Printer scans very well. Printer can get documens sent to her very well. Just empty pages on the copy function.

Is there a bulb or something grilled, which is required to copy? Any suggestions? Is this something that deserves to fix or just get a new printer?

Appears more like a printing problem. Please try to print any page of the printer test. If she is still a Virgin, most likely related to the ink cartridges. Try following the below document and check if that helps
