Physical keyboard of blackBerry Passport

Physical keyboard is not drag photos and home screen! And don't zoom the pictures as well

Hi @malikjawadhassan

Use the touch keyboard to slide through the photos, or zoom, thereby controlling the home screen is not supported. Given that this is the case I 'he's going along your comments for further review.

  • Physical keyboard of blackBerry Smartphones does not

Just get a private from t-mobile a few days ago. Today all of a sudden the physical keyboard has stopped working. I can use it to scroll, but not to enter text. It's like the screen keyboard we does not recognize that I want to use the physical and remains open when I return at the top of the physics. I started in safe mode and checked the setting for physical keyboard gestures to ensure its on. Still will not work. I started and shut down several times. Still no joy.

Have you tried turning off the phone, not just reboot?

  • Physical keyboard of blackBerry Smartphones does not not on new Torch 9800

Hi, I got a new BB torch 9800 a few days ago and the physical keyboard does not work (and has never worked) when I slip out.  Does anyone know if there is a setting somewhere that I have to activate, or is likely to have a defect of the device?  (By the way, I downloaded the last updated and rebooted and took out the battery etc...)  Everything else seems to work very well.  Any help is appreciated!  Thank you

@odonnec, if you have removed the battery while the phone is turned on and the keyboard still does not work, it would be a hardware defect and you should talk to your business to get a phone that works.

@mikebrazil, try to remove the battery while your phone is on the replace and then a few seconds later.

  • BlackBerry Torch - virtual keyboard, a physical keyboard

    1. do you know how to display the keyboard in BlackBerry Torch programmatically if the physical keyboard is disclosed or not?

    2. how to detect if the physical keyboard BlackBerry Torch is disclosed or not?

    Thank you

The VirtualKeyboard class can be used to control the display of the virtual keyboard.  The class of sensor can be used to query the status of the sliding keyboard.  The SensorListener interface can be used to receive notifications when the keyboard is slide in or out.

  • Passport system: Add support for scrolling through the physical keyboard

    Hi guys,.

as you know peripheral Pasport is the new support feature: scrolling in the list view/Scroll through the physical keyboard. It seems that this function should work automatically, but it is not working at all in my application. It works only partially to control the display of Web pages and only on the pages of the subsites of my web content.
Looks as the root cause of this issue is the list view must focus to handle keyboard events. OK, so the workaround can be call requestFocus() on the list view. It's a job but only until I do not touch the other control or scroll this list via the screen point of view! Or for example my app can show popup by clicking on list view and when this popup will be rejected the focus won't return to the display of the list...

So my question is what good way to add support for this feature? Do I really need to play with requestFocus()? Or maybe there's a simple way to always keep the focus on the display of the list?
    I really need help.

I've added a few features such as

    requestFocusForScrolling()

then get the signal of this active tab has changed, you can call this function to get the new focus

or on NavigationPane if returning to onPopTransitionEnded () calling the requestFocus on page function now on top

In my Pages, I always have a few features added like connect(), disconnect() cleanUp() init() and now also at the request of focus. In a few pages, these functions are empty, but I can use them in the generic functions where I only got one Page

    ----

not easy to touch OS oriented to add a key activated area outside the screen

It always depends on the field with the development: think of an Image when you change the size of gestures touch on keyboard or take a look at sales-charts where you "scroll" in the months of keyboard

Same pages may also have ScrollView and/or one or several ListView - it's do you stunts where is the update for keyboard gestures.

  • BlackBerry Passport autonomy and stability. Your experience

    Good day to you all,.

My BB passport had a terrible battery life. My experience was similar to that of this post on the forum:

    https://supportforums.BlackBerry.com/T5/BlackBerry-Passport/short-battery-life-update/TD-p/2997430/h...

Therefore, I returned my passport and got a refund that I used to buy an iPhone 6.

However, I could not just believe that the battery life should be so bad so now, I searched the forum and found the post above (I also did it before I returned my passport, but could not find anything at the time). The above post made me think of buying a BB Passport again.

Not to mention that the battery life terrible on my device, I also found that the BONE was terribly unstabie. I had to reboot the device several times a day. I reinstalled the operating system that has helped, but it was still not anywhere near as stable as my old iPhone.

Now, after I've had my iPhone 6 for awhile, I have to say that I miss the passport of BlackBerry. I'm bored of the factor of the screen, physical keyboard touch, hub BB etc so I would consider buying a new one, but before I do, let me know your expericences with the battery life and the stability of the operating system.

    Thanks for sharing your experience.

    Kind regards

    Peter

mine has been very stable and I use it a lot at work. I get to about 50-60 battery left after 12 hours, but I use it a lot.

I was able to get more than 2 days on a single charge but did not use not heavy.

I like it 30%, I can go to bed, wakes up and using it again for 2 hours before switching on the way to work.

  • BlackBerry Passport phone crashes and asks password

    Hello

It is the second time it happened to me. Once the phone in my pocket for a while and I take, it displays the message "WARNING: you have entered an incorrect password 5 times." After 10 unsuccessful attempts, your device will be deleted.

Now, I never entered any password. I know that the password screen, I've mark the 6th attempt which is not accepted.

I enter password blackberry id, it is not accepted. I am able to connect using this on the web of the computer, but not able to unlock the device.

    How should I proceed now?

I tried to connect the computer with the usb cable and blackberry software mixing, but he asks peripheral or unlocked.

    What is the way out?

    Help, please.

Hello and welcome to the community

Your locking device created by the user password is the only way to unlock your device and prevent the wipe will happen if you fail the maximum number of times (usually 10). There is no 'master' or 'substitute' password to use... only this device lock password that you have created. It will be the same exact unit as well as password asking BLEND, so you can enter it on the keyboard of the computer and that should reset the counter.

It seems that currently affects while that device in in your pocket... This can happen quite easily, especially with the physical keyboard devices. It is often recommended to use a protective case for this situation in order to prevent unintentional password entry attempts.

But, when you first noticed this, doesn't it say "enter blackberry to continue? It should do that on the 5th attempt, exactly for this purpose so that unintentional attempts are stopped at that time, more the word password then entered must be clearly visible and not hidden.

Note carefully what is NOT your BBID credential, at least as much as you have described here. On the contrary, it is your device lock password.

If entry on the keyboard of the device continues not to work, one thing to try is a reboot... sometimes that can clear up any behavior strange keyboard, so you can then enter the password as you know.

Good luck and let us know!

  • Suggestions of screen with the physical keyboard?

Y at - it a setting or a market app that would show suggestions of words when you use the physical keyboard?

Yes with the physical keyboard. In the settings I see prediction of words and the suggestion for software keyboard but no settings under hardware keyboard. However, always mine it on hardware, is right out of the box without changing setting. My Droid and Droid 2 have both made also. You have these settings controlled on the software keyboard settings? Mine seems to follow these settings for two keyboards.

  • Physical keyboard not witing the normal letters

    Hello

I recently bought a HP Slatebook x 2. When I am using the physical keyboard, it is not written the letter a o (Swedish) but on the contrary in writing the Norwegian/Danish versions (which are blue/green on the keys of the keyboard). My language is defined in Swedish in settings. How can I change the settings of the keyboard to write normal letters?

    Thank you.

Figured it out myself, the command was Ctrl + space
