If this does not help, I suggest you to contact Dell support and see if they can help you start on the BIOS and check the settings for the keyboard. You can also check with them if you can run any hardware diagnostic tool.

  • Dell Latitude E6400 LCD / LED video screen has partial display of vertical lines

    Hello

I have a Dell Latitude E6400 on which display LED screen / video shows the stable vertical lines in the right half of the screen (partial view on the left side is good, see photo). I have already tested the external VGA port - it is displayed correctly on an external LCD display. The vertical lines are constant and the same brightness, regardless of the position of the lid of the laptop. This could be a problem with the inverter or the water of the LED screen? Or something else? Thanks in advance for any comments.

    P. S. Please note that glow Golden on the top left of the screen is just a reflection of ambient light.

It is not the inverter (assuming that the display has a);  who simply controls the backlight.  It may or may not be the cable - it's not likely.  It resembles a billboard damaged.

I have a Dell Latitude E6400 - it has 4 GB of RAM and a processor 2.53 Ghz running Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit - how is it is slow? I ran all the troubleshooting I can think, made malware scans, virus scans, and it is still slower than my other laptop that has 1 GB of RAM and a processor 1.73 Ghz - ideas? Thank you!

The problem is that the CPU is overheating and when it the fact that the processor at 800 mhz speed and stay there the CPU goes to 100% usage and the system dies.  I had this problem for 2 years before I understood what it was.  I took off the bottom of the computer (a screw in the middle).  Removed the heatsink to the CPU/GPU and cooling fan.  I have removable fan and removed the therma spent the CPU and the GPU thermal pad.  I have then divide a tube of thermal paste Arctic Silver 5 Radio Shack ($10) and replaced the heat sink and let it heal from one day to the next.  I also bought a block of cooling fan powered to the computer but never needed to use it.  The machine works like a monkey assed stipped running multiple video streams at the same time and cool enough to keep al running stayng.  I was ready to relegate this machine to a storage device, but now it it GREAT.  Good luck

I have a Dell Latitude E6400, it came with Windows Vista 32-bit, there now Windows 7 64 bit. should I try to go back to Vista or just stay with Windows 7 64 bit?

    Hello

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Community.

You can continue with Windows 7 64 bit. It is safer and more stable than Windows Vista. You can get all the necessary drivers for the hardware of the Dell Web site, in order to work with Windows 7 will not be a problem.

    4 GB OF DDR2 RAM

    HARD DRIVE 160 GB

    Core 2 Duo 2.53 GHz

Sometimes I am able to move on to the next step where the installation process asks if I would like to use express settings or customize it. The same thing happens on this stage too. I could not go any further than this step.

I tried dozens of times, even tried 2 different iso files and event tried a 32-bit Windows 8.

  • MY DELL LATITUDE D610 HOW CAN I UPGRADE TO THE NEW VERSION OF WINDOWS? NOW IT IS WINDOWS 7, WHAT VERSION IS SUPPORT FOR USE WELL ON MY DEVICE?

MY DELL LATITUDE D610 HOW CAN I UPGRADE TO THE NEW VERSION OF WINDOWS? NOW IT IS WINDOWS 7, WHAT VERSION IS SUPPORT FOR USE WELL ON MY DEVICE? PLEASE HELP ME

Read this: upgrade Windows 10 Dell Latitude D610

Take a look at my answer, complete instructions.

Basically speaking, Dell officially supports Windows 2000 and Windows XP on Dell Latitude D610 (and other models of Dx10).

However it can really run Windows Vista and 7 at least, as long as you max out the RAM (2 GB, 2 x 1 GB, can be purchased at a great price in eBay) and install the drivers, in particular graphics drivers, look in Device Manager and see what drivers are needed manually.

If you're lucky to have a D610 with ATi graphics card then you can even run Windows 8 and 10 with all drivers available, and I can tell you that it won't be slow dog not unlike a lot of people say, I don't have something similar (a HP Compaq nx8220) in common use. Keep as lean as possible (not bloatwares, anti-virus etc.) system, and it will serve you well.

I installed Windows 7 64 bit on my Latitude E6400. I can't find any way to install the Dell Control Point. I got the Pack of drivers to install. I found a single download of the Security Manager who has worked, but I would like to than the power one Manager.

I looked on this forum a few times and all the links I click redirect just me at the page downloads and drivers. I get an error saying that my service pack is not supported... I'm on Windows 7 Service Pack 1. I have also some 32-bit errors, but it's my fault to have downloaded the 32 bit version.

    Hello

    1. what happens when you start the laptop, you receive no error message?

2 have you made any changes to the computer before the show?

I suggest to remove the battery and connect the laptop to AC power and then try to start the computer to see if the problem is with the battery.

I suggest you to contact Dell support on the issue, as this can be a hardware problem.

I had a virus on my system and did a restore, but this 'thing' tells me that I have to reinstall the product key. but when I looked for him he wasn't there it was nothing just a white sticker with a band or rubbed off not written at all how can we recover the key? Please help me I'm going nuts trying to find and fix this thing, I called the manufacturer of my laptop and they wanted $35 just to talk to me.

If you reinstalled vista and it is not activated and the product key on the sticker is dissipated we can not help you

If vista was on we could have recommended key finder programs

contact the manufacture and ask them to recovery disc for your model laptop

normally, they do not require an input key product on your part

BUT ask the manufacturer to this topic

On Windows XP, I am trying to find the physical address for my Dell Latitude D620, then I can use it to connect to the wireless router.  When I go to start > run > ipconfig/all, a small screen flashes for a second or two, then disappears.  You'd be able to get my physical address from the laptop to the ipconfig/all command screen?  What is the problem and how can I fix?  If not, is there another way to discover the physical address of my computer?

Dell latitude E6400 window 7 (directly connected to the printer), window of inspiron Dell 8 3520 (wireless), they do not meet the printer. I HP4215 like a printer by default on both computers, but I can't print anything. Please advise! Thank you!

Hello @azarita and welcome to the Forums of HP, I hope you enjoy your experience!

I understand that you are having problems printing from your system.  I would like to help!

I would recommend you to do a power reset the printer.  Unplug the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug back in the printer. Make sure that you connect the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any surge protector or power bar.

I suggest also download and run the HP print and Scan doctor.

Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting operations. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums!

  • Latitude E6400 taken helmet does not

I have a Dell Latitude E6400 with Windows 7 Enterprise 32-bit Edition. I installed the chipset drivers, then the rest drivers until there is no bangs in Device Manager. When I plug in external speakers to the headphone jack, however, there is no sound. Test the speakers on another system, and they work.

I worked on it for a few weeks and I'm out of ideas.

Dell service manual does not (or I couldn't find) information on how to fix an audio input jack broken.

Hello. The plugs are on a track called ' I/o card' in the maintenance manual. You need to replace the circuit board, but it there are 2 different according to the graphics in the computer. See here.
