Picture Motion Browser backup

I use the Picture Motion Browser software that came with my camcorder. I get upgraded my OS and I need to know how to make a backup of all comments, notes etc that I have more 1 000 video clips.

Thank you

Hi, branch,

To keep information like notes, comments, etc, I would say that you move the PMB software photo and video files to another drive of the computer for which you won't be formatted during the OS installation. After the installation of the new operating system, install the PMB software and then register the video files and photo with PMB as it is on the link below:

  • Vista DEP ends the process of upgrade of Sony Picture Motion Browser (PMB)

I have a problem with Windows Vista Home Premium.  I am trying to upgrade my version of Sony Picture Motion Browser (PMB) to version 5.2 running the updated DownloadManager_1005c.exe utility, which was downloaded from the Sony website.  When I run this program, Windows Vista puts an end to the process by closing IE.  I first added to the DEP exception list download manager, it did not work.  Then I ran "bcdedit.exe/set {current} nx AlwaysOff" from the prompt order and received confirmation "Operation completed successfully".  I rebooted the computer and the Sony service program is represented.  Yet once Vista has completed the process.

How can I solve this problem and update my software of Sony?

I try to download the upgrade on your desktop directly from the Sony site (or wherever you want come in) and work around by using the Download Manager entirely.  Once saved to your desktop, right-click on the download and click on run as administrator and see if it successfullly upgrades your Sony software.  I suspect the Download Manager is a tool that is useful but not required to download or upgrade.

Because you have executed this command, DEP must disable so it should not be the cause of this problem (if it is in the first place).  Remember when all this is done to reactivate.

If the above does not work, I recommend you contact Sony Technical Support at:http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/select-system.pl?DIRECTOR=CONTACT and see if they can provide assistance with this problem on their software - download manager, upgrade, or both.

    I hope this helps.

  • Why my pictures didn't backup when I restored my phone with my backup

I got a new phone, but before that I erased all my data on it, I backed up in iCloud. So when I went to restore my phone with the iCloud backup, everything went back on my phone expect my photos. So how can I get my pictures on my phone from the backup?

    Hey there Meg.

    Welcome to Apple Support communities.

If I understand correctly, photos are missing in your iPhone after restoring a backup to iCloud. The article below provides a lot of information and troubleshooting tips that should help you to solve the problem of missing photos.

Help find missing information in iCloud after restoring to an iOS - Apple Support device

    Your photos

In iOS 8.1 or later with iCloud than on photo library, your photos and videos are stored in iCloud. They are not included in your backup to iCloud. After you restore your device, connect to the Wi - Fi and turn on iCloud photo library by going to settings > iCloud > Photos. Your photos and videos starts to download.

If you use iOS 8.1 or later and have not turned on iCloud photo library, or if you use the iOS 7, iCloud backup includes photos and videos in your film or photo library. They will download on your iOS device when restoring.

    • Photos in my photo stream is already stored in iCloud, so that they are not part of your backup. iCloud stores the photos that you have uploaded to my stream of photos for 30 days. To keep these pictures on your device and to be part of your backups, save these photos in your library, film or another album.
    • To view an album My Photo Stream, make sure that my photo stream is enabled in the settings (if use you iCloud photo library, the photo stream my folder is removed).
    • To retrieve the photos synchronized to the origin of your device from your computer, synchronize your device via iTunes on a computer.
    • To restore an iPhone or an iPod touch photo library (or film), iCloud backup must be from an iPhone or iPod touch. To restore photos photo library (or film) to an iPad, iCloud backup must be from an iPad.

    Take care.

    Hello
Welcome to the Forums of Discussion of the user.
The updates are to update your original with the version of Windows 7 software.

This utility updates the versions of Picture Motion Browser 1.1 through 5.6.00 and Cyber-shot Viewer 1.0, Picture Motion Browser version 5.6.02. http://eSupport.Sony.com/us/Perl/SWU-do... group_id = 5

  • How can I download for my sony dcr-dvd403 pmb to windows vista 36 bit

looking for software for downaloda pmb for windows vista for sony dcr dvd403 handycam

looking for software for downaloda pmb for windows vista for sony dcr dvd403 handycam

You have Windows Vista 32-bit and a Sony DCR-DVD403 with LCD 2.7 "...

According to the Windows Vista for Sony DCR-DVD403 Compatibility Center the device itself is compatible without any intervention on your part.  Support for any third party hardware or software is always from the hardware manufacturer or software.  It is their place to ensure that their hardware and software are compatible with the operating systems their customers use (or not to do - put an end to their support for said product and basically stating that produced a legacy package/device).

Visit Sony support web page and put in your camera model after you have selected the option for downloads, it takes a place where you can select various downloads.  Simply choose 'Windows Vista' in the menu drop-down "Select an Operating System.  Then it expans show several possible downloads to support this device in Windows Vista, including updates of Picture Motion Browser and Picture Package Sony feeding with their products.  Here are a few updates - so you will need to have a version already installed.

Notes for the Motion Picture Browser declares, "this utility updates PMB versions 1.1 to 5.8.01 and Cyber-shot Viewer version 1.0, PMB version 5.8.02..."- so I think it is reasonable to assume that, as long as you have an installed version (from the CD that came with your camera), you can use this update to bring it up to State fully patched.  Sony offers a link if you need to buy replacement CD for those that you should have received with your product.  Wow - 30 USD - they are proud of their software.  You may have more luck that many others in the research that a download legitimate to PMB is that you do not have your original CD...

  • What is the fastest way to load a video so that I can share it with another user?

Periodically, I take videos of my sessions clinical (I work as a psychologist) and I need to download them (strongly) to the internet to access to see my supervisor. I used to use the programe of Picture Motion Browser, until my computer crashed - I lost the program, but have since managed to understand that all I have to do is to connect my camcorder to my laptop Sony using the cable supplied with the video camera (not USB, other cable - I forgot what it's called) and I can see the videos with Windows Media Player.

Also I tried to download videos on Youtube (using their private setting), but as short as 5 minutes video. has taken about an hour to download.

How can I download the video for my supervisor has access to them? I have a program called Dropbox-it allows the sharing of files - I have not tried this one yet for videos, but wonder if anyone knows if it would be better than Youtube, or if you have any other ideas?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Psych13,

You can try using Windows Live Skydrive and see if you can download the videos.

SkyDrive is a free hosting service that allows users to upload files to a cloud storage and then access it from a Web browser.

For more information, you can consult the following articles:

    Windows Live SkyDrive

    Hope this information is useful.

  • How to open the moff files?

I recently bought a sony hd camera component snap. After loading photo PMB Manager what he came up with, some of my existing photos and videos have been converted to moff files. Can I convert their return? How can I avoid this happening again? Should I uninstall the software? I have Windows 7 on my laptop.

    Hi Nemler,

MOFF files are created by Sony PMB (Picture Motion Browser) application and are used to index all the generated video files.

Yes, you can convert the MOFF file to any other file format that you want. You can use third party software to convert MOFF files to your desired file type.

No, there is no need to uninstall the software, you can contact SONY for more support.
