  • [FPGA] xilinx ise?

    Hello

I am trying to configure a component LabVIEW and xilinx coregen won't let me because «is not installed with labview fpga xilinx ise» I can't find a proper download of NOR. Is this a question expected? There is of course the xilinx website, but do I need a specific version and how can I say? The target FPGA's Virtex-6 LX195T if that's a factor. LabVIEW 2013.

    http://sine.NI.com/NIPs/CDs/view/p/lang/en/NID/210629

    Hey, ToeCutter,.

You have the 2013 LabVIEW FPGA Module Xilinx tools installed locally? Who has Xilinx coregen, which is what you will need to configure their intellectual property. If you are some intellectual from the LabVIEW FPGA palette, it should "work".

  • FPGA Xilinx compilation failed. Access to the path 'C:\NIFPGA\corecache\activity.log' is denied.

I just has my cRIO.  I installed all necessary software and drivers and have written a VI mode FPGA.  However, when I try to compile the code, I get the error of follow-up message (see attachment).  I contacted the support NEITHER and they have been unable to solve this problem at the moment.

The engineer NOR gave me the following advice:

' 1. start the registry editor by selecting Start ' Run and then entering the window run regedit.
    2. press the Enter key to open the editor.
    3. find the following registry key in the path below:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\National Instruments\LabVIEW\11.0\AddOns\FPGA\CompilerPath_Xilinx12_4
    * the Wow6432Node is not correct in all cases. on my PC, you go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE. National Instruments\LabVIEW\11.0\AddOns\FPGA\CompilerPath_Xilinx12_4
    4. on the data tab, you should see the path associated with your CompilerPath_Xilinx12_4. Please confirm that it is linked to the C:\NIFGPA\programs\Xilinx12_4
If you Xilinx 11.5 installed, make sure it is also bound to the correct path.
    5. If you have previous versions of LabVIEW installed, you will need to go to these versions as well. For example if you have LabVIEW 2010 is installed, please, go to 10.0\AddOns\FPGA
Make sure that the CompilerPath_Xilinx12_4 or the CompilerPath_Xilinx11_5 or the CompilerPath_Xilinx10_1 are all properly placed under the drive C as seen above in step 4.
    (6) make sure that the "Working Directory" under LabVIEW 11.0 has the right path of C:\NIFPGA\
    (7) after that, close the registry editor and navigate to where is the worker to compile the FPGA. By default, it should be here: C:\Program Files (x 86) \National Instruments\FPGA\CompileWorker
    (8) here open the document "WorkerRootDirectory.txt" and change the path. Make sure that it is pointing to the C drive.
    (9) save and close the file. Restart your computer.

It was already correct and still impossible to compile.

Usually, a "access to the path... denied." error comes from the permissions of the user.

What operating system do you use?

You use this tool from an administrator account?

Is there a security policy on your computer which determines the permissions and user rights?

Is it possible to run LabVIEW as an administrator?  (e.g. under Windows 7, you right-click on LabVIEW.exe and choose 'Run as administrator'.)

  • Could Scan mode and FPGA mode be used in a project?

    Hi all

I need a project that the current NI9203 with mode of analysis samples and samples of the accelerometer of the NI 9237 with FPGA mode. It could be achieved? Could Scan mode and FPGA mode be used in a project?

    I use labview2009.

    Thank you very much.

Yes, they can. This mode is called hybrid mode. To use the Mode of LabVIEW FPGA IO modules, simply slide the module to the target FPGA in the LabVIEW project, disconnected from scan mode. Then use LabVIEW FPGA to program the modules and use I/O variables for read and write I/O on the remaining modules. When you use a LabVIEW FPGA Mode on one or more modules, the logic of the scan Mode CompactRIO on the FPGA, known as the RIO Scan Interface, is compiled in a single application of FPGA with LabVIEW FPGA VI. If no module is configured to use the scan mode, the RIO Scan Interface is not included in the compilation.

  • LabVIEW Analysis multicore and empty matrices in applications Applications Toolkit

As well as several other toolkits, "in 2015 the analysis multi-core and Sparse Matrix Toolkit moved to the LabVIEW tools network."

In previous versions of MASM tool, a runtime engine was necessary to the execution of applications applications used the Toolbox. With the move to network tools it seems not be any support for applications applications.  Builds work very well, but can not run on systems that do not have a LabVIEW development environment and the Toolkit of MASM installed.

Everyone has tried to build a LabVIEW application in 2015 using analysis of Sparse Matrix Toolkit and LabVIEW Multicore?

    Matt,

We have published the installer of the MASMT runtime on the next page of the LVTN

    http://www.NI.com/gate/GB/GB_EVALTLKTLVMULTICORE/us

You can click on "Download of FTP" on the section 'Download NOR LabVIEW Multicore analysis and Sparse Matrix Toolkit Run-Time Engine' to get the Runtime setup. We will know if you encounter any problems. Thank you!

  • Space required on target RT for LabVIEW Control design and Simulation

    Hello

I want to run a DLL file on an RT target using LabVIEW Control design and Simulation, but I'm not sure of the required amount of RAM on the RT-target. My RT-target options are respectively cRIO 9002 and cRIO-9004 with 32 and 64 MB of RAM. Is this a sufficient amount of RAM to run the simulation? ¨¨

    Thanks in advance

This will depend on the size of your dll, the size of the rest of the code, you can create other necessary drivers/modules, memory use when your application runs, etc.

9002 and 9004 have not a lot of RAM on them and the minimum software installation to run a control application Design & Simulation (CD & Sim) will take around 22Mo of it (the majority of RAM available to the 9002). It would be possible to run your application on these two controllers if you keep it small but it will depend on what you want to do.

In Labview 8.6 and MAX, I can change a scale for a voltage read the string in a task once the application has been built and installed on a second PC. Where's the info of the scale which is held?

    Hello

Once you have built your VI and compiled into an executable file and deployed on another machine, it essentially becomes a file read-only, which means that you will not be able to change the balance in this deployed application.

  • SoftMotion and FPGA OR 9514

    Hey Gang,

I spent the day to set up a new system of cRIO and a new installation of LV2012 RT and FPGA Softmotion.

Our system uses a CAN interface, which, we learn, requires the use of FPGA mode.  Maybe this isn't a bad thing, because we are concerned about the speed of the scan mode.  I developed an FPGA application before.

My main concern is right now, to get the job of control of movement stuff.  Our movement is a NI - 9514.  I hope there is a way to use the SoftMotion modules with the FPGA interface. Otherwise, the movement FPGA examples look REALLY discouraging!

All I do is homing and simple relative motions.  I enjoy all help/advice on the simple/fast way to get there.

    Thank you!

    Roger

    Hi Roger,

You can use the 9514 without using the "formidable" examples using the cRIO in hybrid mode. There are good instructions on how to do it here. A quick summary, is to put the modules you want to use in scan mode under the chassis and modules you want to use FPGAS in the FPGA. When you compile the FPGA bitfile, RIO scan interface is compiled for modules that are under the chassis so that you can use in scan mode. A few warnings:

    • The FPGA VI must be running to use the 9514. When you are in scan mode, the FPGA runs automatically without requiring you to do so. However, in hybrid mode, the FPGA does when you run it explicitly.
    • The FPGA VI should work for deploy you the settings of the axis of the target. This can be a bit awkward during development when you make changes to the configuration of the axis. Usually, you run the FPGA VI using the open FPGA VI reference in a RT VI. However, when you run a RT VI, it checks to see if the deployed data are compatible with the project data and if not, invite you to deploy. Don't forget, however, that you cannot deploy your FPGA VI because is not yet running (since it won't work until the open FPGA VI reference runs). When you try to deploy, you will get an error (I think it's something like "E/s Module not found"). What I do usually is during development, run the FPGA VI manually (by pressing the run button). You can then run your VI RT which uses the FPGA VI reference and everything will work. You will encounter this problem only if you change the configuration of the axis of the project (and so won't be a problem for your final application when changing your aern can't axis settings). If you change the configuration of the axis programmatically, you do not experience this problem.

As a note side for those who use the 951 x modules of movement, unless you really need to do something custom, you must use the modules of 951 x in scan mode. The performance is better in scan mode it is using FPGA (assuming you want to use the API SoftMotion high level (EXVIs, blocks of functions or properties/methods)). When you use FPGA mode, there is further delay to obtain the data of the FPGA in the SoftMotion engine. In addition, you are always coupled to the scan engine! If you get the worst performance, a more difficult experience, and you don't even remove the need for the analytical engine. There are valid reasons to use the modules of 951 x on the FPGA (for example custom control loops), but most applications I've seen use FPGA would be better served by using the module in scan mode.

    Thank you

  • Use autoit in labview to optimize and define the upper window does not?

You start using autoit and most window control commands the excellent work, but I can get WINSETONTOP AND WINSETSTATE functions work.  Everything seems good but keeps showing missing terminal wiring.  I checked to see if I could change my writing, but is not available.  Also tried using SW_SHOWMAXIMIZED and SW_MAXIMIZE properties.  I join the Labview 10 code and, hopefully, a snop shot here.  Can you send me an example of work or provide details as to what may be the problem.

    Thank you!

    Shannon

    I have it.

You were right, necessary to the empty wire CHARAC StrTxt value to get rid of the error of wiring.  Use the node property as shown.  Not sure if that's how it is supposed to be coded, but that's the only thing that has worked so far.

StrTxt is optional for others that I use.

It seems to work very well.

  • TCP data labview n/b and c ++

    Hello

I am trying to establish connection TCP LABVIEW n/b and program C++. Server is established in C++, while the client is implemented in labview. Even if the connection is established with customer success and the b/w Server, both are unable to correctly understand send/receive data between them. For example if I want to send a send_array of type int to the server, I use the 'send' like that standard WINSOCK function:

    Send (AcceptSocket,(Char*) send_array, 129 * 4, 0);

but when this table was made by the client in labview, it shows unexpected values. As a customer, I used 'data simple client.vi' with a change as Envoy (129 * 4 bytes) data size has been set, only TCP read has been used.

Same problem exists if I send data from client to server.

    Kindly help me

    Best regards

It's probably a problem of edian big/small. If you use the flatten/Unflatten of string functions, you can specify which one to use.
