So, my question is, what is the right configuration of the port for my Photosmart C6180 using 32-bit Windows 8?

  I regularly use several 2 TB and 3 TB of external drives without any problem and without taking special measures.

  When I try to import media into FCPX, my external HD rises like a camera and never displays anything (tricks and spins forever).

  I have other external HD pairs and they mount as expected when you import. I can get to the external HD in question, it is just when I go to import items I hit a snag.
