Pinned taskbar links no longer work

Since the update Firefox 24, pinned taskbar links that I added to the launch of Firefox screen is no longer working. I get a popup that reads:

"Unable to open this Internet shortcut. The "FirefoxURL" Protocol is not a registered program. »

Firefox 24, Windows 7 x 64.

24 deleted Firefox a registry key to open the favorite sites on the list of Firefox shortcuts in the Windows 7 task bar. It is supposed to be fixed in Firefox 25, or you can make a registry change to restore the deleted key. This thread has the details: cannot open this shortcut. internet protocol "FirefoxURL" does not have a registered program.

  • International warranty link no longer works

Given that the old IWS control list link no longer works, and the new interface is not so easy to use, that's what I plan to do to check if the Thinkpad I go buy the United States will be warranty-covered in India. I will check site Lenovo India and buy only this model which is already available in India or is marked as "Coming Soon". Please correct me if wrong.

Also, I think buying the "3 YR deposit + accidental damage protection" instead of the options 'on the spot'. According to me, that option on the site won't be of great assistance in India. Please suggest.

    Thank you.

  • Send to NextDoor App links no longer work

I have the NextDoor App and when I get emails from them with links to post, it open directly in the App NextDoor when I clicked on them. Then he began to go to Safari which asked me if I wanted to open them in the application in a pop-up like the interface, but I had to click on it quickly or he would disappear and the link will open in Safari. Safari now has a banner at the bottom that says: 'NextDoor for iPhone. It's more fast, easy and free"with a big green button on the APP OPEN. I click on that, and this brings me to the App Store and shows the app NextDoor where it says OPEN because I have already installed the application. If I click that, he opened NextDoor but don't get the link I chose, just the main site. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but which did not help. I tried to remove all Web Site data in Safari, but that no longer works.

    Any suggestions?

  • Set Gmail as request of mailto, but mailto: links no longer work.

I use FF 22 on a MacBook Pro with OS X 10.7.5. In Preferences > Applications I put the app for mailto as Gmail. However, mailto links won't work. They open usually a white tab Gmail is also defined as the default messaging for the system application. That did not help.

Try to delete the mimeTypes.rdf file in the Firefox profile folder to reset all the actions file.

You can check the prefs Network.protocol - handler.external.mailto on the subject: config page.

If Network.protocol - handler.external.mailto prefs are user defined (in bold) and then right click and reset them by default.

  • Move the files in the files Panel & now the links no longer work?

I had to do a reorganization with my files for a better organization of the site, so I did it in Dreamweaver.  Dreamweaver to update the links to the files, even on 1/3 of the links seem to be broken when I view pages in a web browser.  Is there a way to fix this?

If you cleaned your folder by moving the files to another folder, then the links do not work, you have broken the path.  You can correct the path manually or go for broken links, highlight the file, right click, select Code Hint tools, select URL browser and find the files to implement the correct path and the link.

  • The New York TIMES link no longer works in Firefox

Anyone has an idea why my NYT subscription works in Firefox is no longer but works fine in other browsers? When I try to log in, it takes me a message that says:

"Firefox has detected that the server redirects the request for this address in a way that will never end."

Can I do to solve this problem? Thank you.

This may indicate a problem with the cookies that NYTimes has stored in Firefox. We're may be damaged or outdated information could be mixed with current information.

I suggest to delete your cookies for the site. If you can view any page on the site, try one of these:

    • Right click and select View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies".
    • ALT + t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies".
    • Click on the globe or padlock icon in the address bar > additional information > "View Cookies".

In the dialog box that opens, you can delete cookies from the site individually.

Then try to reload the page and sign in again. Any improvement?

In some cases, changes in parameters or modules improving privacy protection can block certain information that the site requires. If just clear cookies and accept the new does not resolve the problem of redirection, it could be one of the following problems:

    • "Cookies third party" blocked
    • Blocked Referer header

  • After that IOS 9.3 updated links no longer work

I recently updated my iphone 6 to 9.3 IOS and now when I click on a link to e-mail, text, or safari, the application crashes and takes me to the link.  Can someone help me with this?

Have you done a reboot since the update?

Close all open applications by double-clicking the home button, and then drag to the top of the application window until it disappears from the screen.

Reset your device: press and hold the home button and the sleep/wake button until the screen goes black, and you see the Apple, then let go. (No data loss)
