PIX 501 restore default settings

I have a Pix with CLI version 6.1 501. I tried the factory default configuration command and it absolutely does not work, it's not even an option when I use the?. Any suggestions, or other ways to restore the factory settings?

Thank you

1 What do you mean exactly by "grinding halt" and "computer does not work as it did?
    2. do you receive any error messages?
    3. has your computer becomes very slow?

You can re-create the database of Windows Media Player and see if that fixes the problem.

To do this, follow these steps:

    a. exit Windows Media Player.

    b. click Start , type%LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Media Player in the Start search box and press ENTER.

    c. Select all files in the folder, and then click delete on thefile menu.

Note: You don't have to remove the folders that are in this folder.

    d. restart Windows Media Player.

Note: Windows Media Player automatically rebuilds the database.

If this does not resolve the problem, disable the Windows Media Player database cache files. To do this, follow these steps:

    -Exit Windows Media Player.

-Click Start , type%LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft , in theStart search box and press ENTER.

-Select the Media Player folder, and then clickdelete on the file menu.

  • How to restore default settings for administrator permissions?

On my laptop, I am running Windows Vista Home Premium with all Service Packs, and recommended updates.
I messed up inadvertently administrator permissions so that I can't access, move, or delete certain folders / files.  Please - how to restore the default permissions?

There is no way to do it automatically. Restore the system to a point before that the amendments may help.

    This article gives advice: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/313222

If you can open a command prompt (see: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Command-Prompt-frequently-asked-questions ), you may be able to use the Takeown command and icalcs to set the permissions to the usable values.

You may need to compare the permissions on a system that works. The Sysinternals AccessChk and AccessEnum utilities can be useful.

What is this app? Did you uninstall it already?

You can do a Security wipe on your device (this will remove ALL your data, a backup is important)

I suggest to fix the problem first before considering a security wipe.

If the searchplugins folder is empty then you will need to reinstall Firefox.

It will probably work if you reinstall Firefox on top of the current installation, but if not then you should remove the Firefox program folder.

Download a new copy of Firefox and save the file to the desktop.

Your bookmarks and other profile data stored in the Firefox profile folder and will not be affected by a relocation, but make sure that you do not select delete data of a personal nature if you uninstall Firefox.

  • default configuration of the pix 501 past recovery/restoration

You need to reset the PIX 501 (lost password). I tried the password recovery instructions and accesses the monitor command by using the connection of the console, but cannot get the file to be transferred using tftp (ping command also expires).

    1. in case ordering interface be set to 0 or 1 (I used 1)

    2. the order of the address I was using 192.168.1.1

    3. order the server, I was using the IP address of the tftp server

    4. entry door? (Which is the PIX or the computer)?

    5. in addition to the blue console cable that if all other cables should be connected and which ports.

    Thank you

I'm guessing you already have this document:

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/customer/products/HW/vpndevc/ps2030/products_password_recovery09186a008009478b.shtml

I would like to use the default value inside of the interface of the 1. Connect a standard ethernet cable to one of the Interior ports on the PIX and the other to your PC that has the server tftp on it of the interface software. Make sure that you see a link on both ends light. If not, take this cable or save it if you think it is a crossover cable. If you set the PIX address to: 192.168.1.1, then I would set my tftp server address: 192.168.1.2 or something in the same subnet. In this way we will not care what is the gateway address. No need to let pesky routers get in the way, when we're down!

Since you asked the question 5 above, I'll explain. You should have a console cable connected, it seems do you since you can get to the monitor > prompt. You'll also need an ethernet cable plugged in a PC running a server tftp with the IP address: 192.168.1.2 3Com made a server tftp really good F * R * E * E.

    http://support.3Com.com/software/utilities_for_windows_32_bit.htm

Select the last file in the list. Make sure you get that file recovery of password for the Cisco link above for the PIX OS version you are running. Configure the tftp server to point to the directory containing the PIX password recovery file and you are ready. Good luck, Derrick

  • I restored Firefox to its default settings, but the slowness, crashing and nonresponse are not resolved

    Hello colleagues-Firefox users.

I followed the Commission indicated in the Support article on the slow, crash, etc. by restoring Firefox to its default settings. But the problems go away. The remains of the slow browser and still gives me error messages on a non-compliant script or plugin and crashes. To make matters worse I don't see the menu on the top tool bar items, I was so used to using, such as file, editing, display, etc.. I very often used the display menu to zoom on texts that are too small for me to read. Now I can not do. I tried to drag icons in the menu on the upper right of the page on the top tool bar above the address bar, but it is not the same thing as what I used to use before, and there is no File, Edit, View, tools in the menu icons. So now I see my g-mail Inbox in tiny little characters. I tried to use the Magnifier suggested in the troubleshooting of support page, but it's too heavy so I gave up.

Would someone kindly please help me with these questions? Thank you much in advance.

    Kind regards
    Tom Graciano (globmart)

If the zoom is your problem so just try to use the keyboard.
Hold down the control (Ctrl) key + "+" to zoom in any window.
Otherwise if the crash occurs suddenly so just try to uninstall and reinstall Firefox with the update. You brought a lot of changes manually, it might create problem. So reinstall once and check whether it is at your service.

  • Restore the default settings doesn't work is not because of the sweetpack.

Somehow, a toolbar called sweetpack was installed on firefox. I tried to remove the addon via the windows uninstaller, but it still appears in the addon of firefox even handler after restarting windows. the addon is blocked on firefox, but there is no way to turn it off. Then, I tried to restore the default settings, but firefox get toward the top of the box to "restore the data from the old" who comes chugged away in an infinite loop.

I just looked at the picture and note that you have TopArcadeHits which is another embarrassing. Read the threads related to my last post.

  • NH-1005 ver 2.2 hub allows you to restore the default settings

OK, I have a worm hub 2.2 NH 1005 that I used a little more than six months, and I need your advice on restoring the default settings.

the web-based configuration page can be accessed through 192.168.2.1 on IE, but my step son was trying to fix the nat definition for its xbox 360 (not so hard to do...) and changed the settings under remote management to turn off. now, it is not possible to connect to access based on the Internet web page.

is there another way? Is there a restore defaults button in the web page, but no button or other basis on the hub itself. any advice, other than to get rid of it and replace?

So in this case you should check the settings of your DSL modem. Like most of the DSL modem has a built-in DHCP server. Then maybe you lose connectivity to your modem DSL itself.

As your HUB is a dumm device and it dosent have any parameters, or you can reset your HUB. Only, you can make a normal feeding cycle and which will not solve the problem.

Important note: I would like to explain that the upgrade in place is a tool to repair the system. Thanks to the special upgrade process, we will be able to repair the system. The upgrade in place will not affect the settings like photos, movies, documents, etc. that are saved on the computer.  However, it is recommended that you first back up your important information and files of other partitions or other disks.
