place the ranking system

I have Vista, I it switch to something for free

There is no free upgrade option for Windows Vista (it is too old).  You can buy 7 or 8.1 and get 10 free... or you could just buy 10.  According to stores in your area, one that may cost less, but be careful: as old as Vista computer may not yet work with something more recent.  It might be time to upgrade the entire PC.

How can I program it so that when a new high score is reached, it will replace a high score existing correctly (on the top ten values) for example, if the highest scores in the top ten are 10-1, a player plays the game and received a score of 7.5, the "7.5" will be saved in the top ten and 1 ' will be eliminated from the top ten "»

I have a dell computer used (vista), while mine is in the shop, the date system and time is not set. How to find the password of Setup/system to set the time and date. I set the time and date using the Panel control, but within a few hours, it changes again in May 3,2003 Help. Thank you

If you have changed the time and date in the Panel, and he continues to return to an older date, then this is probably the CMOS battery that has gone dead. If it is a loan, I wouldn't worry on this subject. If it's your own old PC, then you can change it. Is this a laptop or desktop PC? What brand and model is it?

  • How to properly place my mother Hp to maintain the operating system?

So I wanted to update my cpu, but to do that I have first put my motherboard. However, I was told that the motherboard must be precise in order to get the Dungeon of the BONE; because the unit is delivered to the advantage of working with the motherboard that is pre-installed with my Hp desktop computer. Unless I replace a damaged mobo, but then I have to get the same model (I think). Is there a 'list' of the mobos, which would be considered an adequate replacement or upgrades for my Hp desktop computer whose OS is usable stil? I'm so confused.  If this is the case, I'll probably just give my unit and buy or build a new one, but I tried to save money. • Have just been told by BT that I need a new/different version of Thunderbird to work with the new system BTMail (previously BTYahooMail) - I do?

I have btinternet email for years and Thunderbird for too long and have been happy with both. Unfortunately, I'm not technical enough to understand the majority of assistance or instructions on the information pages of support technique/Thunderbird, but haven't managed to get TB put in place in the first place (long time) and it seems to have worked well since. However, on Friday both of my accounts to BT (sets of two numbers), so two BT email addresses have been moved new old BT Yahoo mail BT mail. I was unable to connect to one of them, but the other was very good - I have had help 'screen sharing' a technical chap BT to sort. However, he was able to Conect Thunderbird with email servers. I said to BT and the chap tech tried to sort on screen sharing, but could not (and I have been unable to follow what he was doing). A few months ago, I made a few changes, as requested by BT, to allow for the transfer to go smoothly (!), but the man has changed some things Friday, I think, as well. He could not solve the problem of TB and I can't figure it out at all, and the Lady of BT Tech help to whom I spoke this morning (and who had managed to fix my problem of connection BTID, fortunately) had a look and suggested that maybe I needed an update/new/different version TB or 'another email address. Well, I really want to stay with Thunderbird and was hoping that someone here could explain it in simple English for me, please? I was wondering what will happen, assuming that I need to download an updated version / different, if I did this and then sort of re-installed my existing BT email addresses (as if I started again with Thunderbird)? I hope that there is someone here who can help you - thank you - I'm rather fond of this little blue bird. Thank you.

  • Impossible to download and reinstall the operating system after erasing HD

Yesterday morning, my iMac won't start.  It was fine the night before.

The progress bar reaches about two thirds to three quarters of the way to the end when the bar of progress disappears and I find myself with a gray screen. It does this by starting too.

I followed the advice of Linc Davis at https://discussions.apple.com/message/21333265 (hash) 21333265 (Note - I can't find the symbol of hash on my keyboard key so if you if know where he is, please replace by in the link - oh (hash) and tell me where it's too please ;-)).

I started the Revovery volume (now here actually).  Run Disk Utility/First aid finds no problem with MacIntosh HD (my boot drive). I can't find how to repair permissions.  The option no longer seems to be there. Reset NVRAM has nothing else that makes the iMac wonder my preferred language.

I used download and reinstall OS option.  The first time I tried to re-download El Capitan, it took 15 minutes and 45 minutes to install.  Installation failed leaving me to the grey screen again.  I think that the Setup program itself was trying to restart the iMac when he got stuck in the same place I'm stuck.  I left it there for about six hours before I tried to restart manually.

Tried to download the operating system again. This time, it was after using the recovery volume, select MacIntosh HD, by using erasing, then the option reinstall in THE.

I did two times now.  The first time I tried 'Erase and re - install' the download bar has got to a point about a third of the way across, and then he stopped. Time of download bar gradually got more and more long, up to what I canceled it (when the display estimated download time is six and a half).  The internet connection was problematic, or the Mac had stopped download (similar to the earier progress bar).  The second attempt to delete and download, the download bar has not yet started to progress.

My HARD drive has several volumes.

    1. The most important. My MacIntosh HD with OS 10.11.4 - El Capitan.
    2. The second, MacIntosh HD 2, is about 50 GB, a Mavericks installed on it.
    3. The third is 10.11.4 recovery volume.
    4. The fourth is another volume of recovery for the Mavericks.
    5. There is another called eDrive bulkhead.

Apart from MacIntosh HD, with none of these volumes I problems in starting up (with the possible exception of the Mavericks resumed, that I have not tried to access all since the update to El Capitan).

I used first aid utility disk several times, and no problems have been reported. I used the version of El Capitan permanently.

I can't understand why, after erasing the MacIntosh HD to do it again, I can't get the iMac to download the MacOS and reinstall.

    A couple of clues-

    • After his clear utility drive always reports what is MacIntosh HD. (When I restart, the dialog "Select Start Drive" only shows the volume of the Mavericks and eDrive)
    • Disk utility also shows "Apple Disk Image/OS X Base System."  OF THE said that it is ejection. But this button does not work.  I suspect it's what might stop download me the installer and start again.

I used e-drive to check the iMac and, in particular, the drive HARD; even performed a surface scan.  No problems have been reported.

Your 2007 iMac is too old to download OS X, you need to install OS X since the recovery partition directly. If this does not work then Yes, something is wrong with your HD run Apple Hardware Test Mode Extended 2 - 3 times back to back, if errors appear which confirms what I said. You will need the original DVD that came with the computer in order to run it.

  • 10 improvement of the Windows path hangs on "place the external storage and press OK.

    Hello

This will be my first post on this forum.

A couple of weeks ago, I bought a Toshiba SATELLITE CL10-B-103 for my son. The CL10-B-103 has installed Windows 8.1. Tonight I plan to make the installation of the Windows 10 upgrade because Windows 8.1 announced that he was ready for the upgrade.

The trial progressed slowly but smooth and without problems until now... As the laptop is equipped with only an HD 32 GB the trial upgrade was informed that I had to stick a USB key. After that, the trial continues slowly but smoothly, but who did not question because I had all night. However after the first reboot of the system when he was about 60 or 66% of installation of process this error message showed: place the external storage and press OK. It's very strange since the key USB has been removed at all and was still in the system. It is strange, is that both the OK button as the Cancel button are not selectable. Without passing by the touchpad, not a tab or an entry.

Some community online Windows 10 post mentions that, via the BIOS, the system must be initiated from this USB key. I tried to reboot the system with DEL, F2 or F8, but I couldn't get into the BIOS and wasn't able to change the boot sequence.

After each "restart" the same error message appears. It does not matter that the USB is in it or not.

So, my conclusion is that my CL10-B-103 is suspended/East in a loop. I don't know how to proceed.

Please, I can really use some help.

    Thanks in advance.

Because it seems that I can not only edit/change a message I am answering my own post now...

The problem seems to be resolved. When I was able to use the touchpad I could push the OK butten and the upgrade product now.

  • Equium A200 - how to get the operating system?

Hi, my son has just been given an A200 and we put in place a new disk hard in, but we do not have the recovery disks. Anyone know how I could get my hands on copies or how to download the operating system and then is just a matter of inserting the disc?

    Tony

    Hey Buddy,

First of all I must say that it of not possible to download the operating system. It s just preinstalled on your laptop and you can find it on Toshiba Recovery disk as well.

If you don t have a recovery disc, you can order one from Toshiba but I m not 100% sure if it of possible old Equium A200. Just check the online store:

If you can t order it, ask a service provider authorized in your country. Maybe they have such a disc and can give you.

  • Qosmio G20 error message: problem with the cooling system has been detected

I'm trying to fix a Qosmio G20 (which is about 3 years old, it is no longer in warranty).

Error message: Warning: a problem with the cooling system has been detected.

I managed to remove the outer case and observe the operation of the machine, and basically one of the fans does not at all. The fan which is closest to the power connector seems to work very well (he seems to be turning a lot, do not know if this is normal), but the other fan who does not seem to move at all.

When I put in place the case and on the machine, I noticed after a few minutes the vent of the fan working heat sink had warm enough, while led the non-working fan remained cool.

I cleaned the fan from dust and have also changed the BIOS battery mode mode high performance, but the problem still exists.

I would be grateful if someone could give advice if the problem is the fan or something else.

If the fan is the problem, where I can buy a: i live in the United Kingdom?

    Hello

I think there might be something wrong with the cooling module and the replacement would be necessary.
Usually, this should be done by an authorized provider (ASP) in your country.

Technicians could replace it with a new part and also could renew the thermal grease which is placed between the module and the CPU cooling.

So contact the ASP in your country and ask for later handling.

By the way; also, you can buy the cooling of the ASP module!

    Good luck

Start in Safe Mode , and then repair your hard disk and permissions:

Fix the hard disk and permissions before Lion

Boot from your OS X install disk. After the installer loads, choose your language and click on the button continue. When the menu bar appears select utility drive in the Utilities menu. After that the charges of THE select your entry from hard drive (mfgr. (State SMART is not reported on external drives Firewire or USB). If the drive is "verified", then select your OS X volume in the list on the left (subentries under the entry for the road), click the first aid tab, then click the repair disk button. If THE reports any errors that have been corrected, and then run repair disk again until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported, click repair permissions. Wait until the operation is complete, then exit FROM and return to the installer.

Repair the hard drive - Lion-Lion/mountain/Mavericks

Otherwise, restart the computer and after the buzzer, press on and hold down the OPTION key until the Boot Manager screen. Select recovery HD disk icon and click on the button below.

Wait until the operation is complete, then exit FROM and return to the main menu. Select restart from the Apple menu.

Restart your computer normally and see if it helped at all. Then do little maintenance:

For disk utility can't handle situations, the best third party is Disk Warriorutility;  Fixed DW only for problems with the disk directory, but most disk problems are caused by the corruption of directory; Warrior drive 4.x is now compatible with Intel Mac.

Note: Alsoft ships DW on a bootable DVD that will boot Mac running Snow Leopard or earlier. He cannot start Mac that came with Lion or later preinstalled, however, DW will work on these models.

    Suggestions for OS X maintenance

OS X performs certain maintenance functions that are supposed to take place on a daily, weekly, or monthly period. Maintenance scripts that are run at the beginning AM only if the computer is turned on 24/7 (no sleep). If this isn't the case, then a great solution is to download and install a shareware like Macaroni, JAW PseudoAnacronor Anacron utility that will automate the maintenance regardless of whether activity if the computer is off or asleep.  Dependence on third-party utilities to run periodic maintenance scripts has been significantly reduced since Tiger.  These utilities have little or no functionality with Snow Leopard or later version, and must not be installed.

OS X automatically defrags files smaller than 20 MB in size, so unless you have a disk full of very large files it little need to defragment the hard drive.

Under no circumstances should you install operating MacPaw or ZeoBit software (CleanMyMac/CleanMyDrive or Mac Keeper, respectively.) You don't need special software to keep your computer.

The following comes from user stevejobsfan0123. I made minor changes to adapt to this presentation.

Difficulty a few pop ups browser that supported Safari

Common pop - ups include a message saying that the Government has taken over your computer and you pay release (often called "Moneypak"), or a false message saying that your computer has been infected and you need to call a number of tech support (sometimes claiming to be Apple) to get it to be resolved. First of all, understand that these pop-ups are not caused by a virus and that your computer has not been assigned. This "hack" is limited to your web browser. Also understand that these messages are scams, so don't pay not money, call number, or provide personal information. This article will give an overview of the solution to remove the pop-up window.

    Quit Safari

Usually, these pop-ups will not go by clicking 'OK' or 'Cancel '. In addition, several menus in the menu bar may become disabled and show in grey, including the option to leave Safari. You'll probably force quit Safari. To do this, press command + option + ESC, select Safari, press on force quit.

    Relaunch Safari

If you restart Safari, the page will reopen. To avoid this, hold the "Shift" key when opening Safari. This will prevent windows since the last time that Safari was running since the reopening.

It will not work in all cases. The SHIFT key must be maintained at the right time, and in some cases, even if done correctly, the window is displayed again. In these circumstances, after force quit Safari, turn off Wi - Fi or disconnect Ethernet, depending on how you connect to the Internet. Then restart Safari normally. He'll try to reload the malicious Web page, but without a connection, it will not be able to. Leave this page by entering a different URL, i.e. www.apple.com and try to load it. Now you can reconnect to the Internet and the page that you entered is displayed rather than the malicious.

    The facts are:

    1. There is no anti-malware software can detect 100% of malware out there.

    2. There is no anti-malware that can detect all targeting the Mac.

    3. the best way to prevent breaches the most is for you as the user is aware that

the most successful malware attacks rely on sophisticated social engineering

    5. some of the anti-malware market products are worse than malware

go where they are supposed to protect you.

    6. be careful where you go on the internet.

    7. don't download anything from sites, you know are safe.

8 avoid links that you receive in email, always be wary, even if you get something

you think a friend is, but that you did not expect.

    9. If there is any question in your mind, then assume that it is malware.

    Troubleshooting Applications

I recommend that you download a utility such as TinkerTool System, OnyX, Mavericks Cache Cleaneror hiding a Cocktail that you can use to delete the former newspapers and archives, cleaning, etc. Corrupted cache, logs or temporary files can slow down the application or OS X crashes and panics of the kernel.

If you have leopard snow or leopard, then for similar repairs install Applejackfreeware utility.  If you do not start in OS X, you can boot into single-user mode , where you can run Applejack to make a set of routines for repair and maintenance of the command line.  Note that it takes 1.5 AppleJack for Leopard. AppleJack 1.6 is compatible with Snow Leopard. Applejack does not work with Lion and later versions.

    Basic backup

For some people, Time Machine will be more than enough. Time Machine is part of Mac OS X. There are two components:

    1. a panel of Time Machine preferences as part of the system of preferences;

    2. a request for Time Machine, located in the Applications folder. It's

used to manage backups and restore backups. Time Machine

requires a backup drive that is at least twice the capacity of the

    drive being backed up.

You can also get an external drive at least equal to the size hard disk internal and make (and maintain) a bootable clone/backup. You can make a bootable clone using the disk utility's restore option. You can also create and maintain clones with good backup software. My personal recommendations are (the order is not significant):

    1 Carbon Copy clone

    2. get backup

    3 already seen

    4 superDuper!

    5. Synk Pro

    6. Tri-Backup

    Additional tips

Make sure you have a sufficient amount of RAM installed for the number of applications you run simultaneously. Make sure to leave a minimum of 10% of the capacity of the hard disk as free space.

Add more RAM. If your computer less than 2 GB of RAM and you use OS X Leopard or later, then you can do it with more RAM. Snow Leopard and Lion works much better with 4 GB of RAM that is their system. Most concurrent applications, that you tend to use the more RAM you should have.

Always have at least 15 GB, or 10% of the capacity of your hard disk as free space, the largest. OS X frequently accesses your hard disk, so offering enough free space will keep things slow down.

Check for applications that may be hogging the CPU:

    Before Mavericks

Open the activity monitor in the Utilities folder.  Select all processes in the drop process .  Click the % CPU column heading twice to display in descending order.  If find you a process that uses a large amount of time processor (> = 70,) then select the process, and then click the quit icon in the toolbar.  Click the force quit button to kill the process.  See if that helps.  Don't forget to mention the name of the runaway process, so you can find the cause of the problem.

    Mavericks and later versions

Open the activity monitor in the Utilities folder.  Select all processes in the menu display .  Click the CPU tab in the toolbar.

This problem occurs often because of a corrupted cache or the preferences file or an attempt to write in a corrupted log file.

  • Apple Extreme, Time Capsule and Express on the same system, what is the best way to set it up so that all devices smoothly from one end of the House to another?

Apple Extreme, Time Capsule and Express on the same system, what is the best way to set it up so that all devices smoothly from one end of the House to another?

I'm going to assume that you plan to have wireless devices.

Let's say that the Capsule is your "main" router  If this is the case, then it must be located in the House, so that the distance between the time Capsule is the same for the outside walls of the House.

Then, on the 'left' side of the House, looking for an airport to midway between the Capsule and time of the outer wall of the House. Do the same thing the 'right' side of the House.

In other words, each of the two airports that "extend" the wireless signal are located at equal distance from the Capsule of time... but they are in opposite ends of the House.

If you intend to interconnect all the airports and Time Capsule using a permanent, Ethernet wired... which by far is the 'best' way to put in place a network in terms of performance and reliability... then you can locate one of the devices anywhere you want.

  • Panel Test DAQ opened on the remote system

Using the command-line tool nidmfpan.exe you open a test panel to a device on your system by specifying its name.  Here is an article which he described.

    http://digital.NI.com/public.nsf/allkb/9B628A8B1B13136F86256DDB0004DE4D

But what is not mentioned is how to call this function if it will open a panel of test on a RT system.  This is possible because in MAX, you can select the hardware and the same test panel is displayed, but I don't know the right way to call this EXE, so it will open it.  Is there any place that command line switches are documented for this program?  And what is the method for opening a panel of test on a piece of DAQ hardware on a remote system?  Thank you.

Since nobody has been able to help me I thought about it myself.  If you call the application nidmfpan.exe with the command line switch send_break_action: with the IP address of the remote system it works great.  I also found you can use the/dev: instead of the /devid: to specify the device by a unique identifier instead of the alias MAX.  Thus, for example:

    C:\Windows\SysWOW64\nidmfpan.exe /host:192.168.129.1/dev: {84535FB2-8F2A-11E6-8061-00802F25AF78}

    Or

    C:\Windows\SysWOW64\nidmfpan.exe /host:192.168.129.1 /devid:cDAQ1Mod2

  • I have reinstalled the operating system on my Mac 10.6.8 & can't print duplex

DeskJet 6988dt. I had to reinstall the operating system on my Mac 10.6.8. Now, I can not the boxes to select duplex printing. I tried to delete the printer in system preferences, turn off the printer, removing the duplexer, put it back in place, turn on the printer, reinstall the printer in system preferences. Does not help. I still can't get the selections for double-sided printing.

    Any suggestions?

Also, please make sure the accessory of the duplexer enabled in the settings of the print queue:

    1. Open the system preferences
    2. Go to print & fax.
    3. Open the print queue of your printer by double clicking its name.
    4. Click printer setup
    5. Ring the driver tab.
