  • Smartphones blackBerry Torch 9800 WiFi problems

Just bought a 'unlocked' Torch 9800 from Amazon.  We are having a problem with the game facing upwards.  The WiFi signal is detected by the device, but we cannot send or receive e-mails.  When you log on to the browser, we can not go to the line, as it is said that it has turned on WiFi but not coverage.  I have contacted my provider "Three" and they say that, to their end, everything looks good to go.  My previous phone is a Curve 9300 that works very well, I'll have to use my old phone and it is send and receive e-mails very well with good coverage.  The abandonment of the cover guard torch its all very frustrating.

We arrived at the conclusion that the problem is the phone itself, it has not been unlocked properly or we are missing something in the game upward.  If someone had a similar problem or you can shed some light on what we can hurt?

Hello and welcome to the community!

If you can use on the 9800, phone services via 3, then it's unlocked properly... but you can check here:

Any BB can be used on any carrier that is running the same radio frequencies that the BB is capable of (and I have no idea if your in are such). But, to bring you a BB on a carrier network that they don't sell, there are several obstacles to overcome:

    (1) the carrier must say 'yes' to the fact... they are owners of their network and have every right to say what devices will be allowed to connect to it. If they say 'no', then it's the end of it.

    (2) you must be sure that your BB is properly unlocked since its origin manufactured for carrier... see this thread useful for more details:

    (3) you must get all of your voices works on the carrier, before you even try anything on data level services

    (4) you must be a subscriber of the carrier, a plan of sufficient data to enable BB exclusive services that you wish to

5 (a) if the carrier directly supports your specific model BB, then you can proceed to the registration of the BB on their network, generating adequate for your BB service book delivery and treatment of the function. Since you didn't say that 3 you are on, I can't check to see if they support the 9800 or not... we do it, the other does not. But you can post via the official download portal:

If your carrier lists the 9800 in their portal, then they take over the it and you should be good to use it on their network.

5 (b) but, if the carrier does not directly your BB-specific model number, then the challenges are much more that most of the carrier's systems will deliver, for BB, the service books required to enable BB exclusive data services, even if you have subscribed to them.

So, based on this, your BB may or may not ever any function on this carrier network. It can be quite difficult to achieve, especially if 5 b applies. Then take a look at this and decide how you want to move forward. Most people end up just buying a new BB if 5b applies.

If 5A applies, then I suggest the following, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message to your BB to come...) Please wait for this before moving on to the next step):

    (1) registry HRT

    • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network
    • Please wait a 'registration' message reach your Messages application

    (2) Service reference books

    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    • Please wait "the Activation' Messages, one per already configured e-mail account, arrive in your Messages. If you have not already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.

    (3) restart to take batt

    • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

I hope that will move things again for you! If this isn't the case, then you must keep workign with your mobile service provider as is their network with which your BB is unable to communicate, and only they can look "behind the scenes", as well as degenerating into RIM if necessary.

Good luck and let us know!

  • BlackBerry Torch 9800 smartphone does not connect to the server and server BBM problem

I have a BB Torch 9800 and starting the 29th Dec e-mail could not be received and BBM works do not. I have nothing, they just stopped working.  Made all types of hard reboots even take off the battery and SIM card, and works in the BBM id. Just downloaded BBM app ver 7.0 thinking he would help and now get BBM, temporary server problem message.

Help, please. Provider is AT & T.

Thank you and happy new year who can get my BB working again!

My guess is that your supplier, ATT, changed your data plan. Call them and make sure that your account is configured correctly for BB services.

  • Questions of General synchronization to blackBerry - Torch 9800 Smartphones

I'm syncing my Torch 9800 on my desktop Outlook 2010 calendar and Contacts. I have Office Ultimate one-way comms Manager TO the device from the desktop (at least for now). Whenever I synchronize Organizer, all contacts in 1060 and 70 a few dates in the calendar are deleted from the deivce and replaced by desktop (I have the config set so that the office replaces what is on the device). Is there a way I can have just the new or changed items be sent to the device?

I was also to have the famous AT & T address book synchronization problem and done a wipe clean the phone, uninstalled the Office Manager and purged the register what anyone saying blackberry or researchinmotion. After all that, if I go to the torch ALL | Contacts | Menu | Options AT & T address book is still listed over TOP of the LISTS of CONTACTS, with a DEFAULT header listed below this header. If I sync, I get the data you want to Outlood the torch, but if I turn the torch OFF then turned back on, it starts looking for the database AT & T. I spoke with AT & T and they have disabled access to the database on my account, but I can not get the torch to forget. I'm under version 6 bundle 2647 because I had trouble with the version 7 and read that I was not alone in this. Any IDE?

    Much thanks!

    Hi MikeyChris,

Have the BlackBerry Desktop Software to replace the data on the BlackBerry smartphone, just that he takes everything off the BlackBerry and then changes by what is in Outlook. If you disable this feature, it will just update the data on your device.

To clarify the AT & T 'question' Addressbook you talk, you say that these contacts appear automatically on your device and you want to delete this?

    Thank you.

  • BlackBerry Torch 9800 Smartphone touchscreen

I've been reconstruction/rehabilitation a Torch 9800 and replaced the LCD Ribbon Flex hand and the touchscreen between the other parties. Only half right of the touch screen reacts to the touch. Half left is not reactive. Any difficulty?

Thank you, no, is not the problem of loose slider.

My boyfriend also said, it is the Ribbon that connects the LCD/digitizer to the Board of Directors.  In my experience, these ribbons are very delicate.  I ruined one in a Nintendo DS once while trying to change some hinges and replace it.

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry Torch 9800 smartphones, unable to connect to Wi - Fi

When I created my Torch 9800 to connect to Wi - Fi, the home screen indicates the SSID of the access point, but when I try to use the browser, it displays "unable to connect to the internet, please try again later.

The 'Device and status Info' screen reports the WLAN IP address as 0.0.0.0.

My Wi - Fi point reports that the BB is 'on' and it is assigned an IP (192.168.2.17).

At one point my initial screen has reported that three available updates.  However, whenever I clicked on a line with an update, an error message reported that "the data service is not operational" and the message about the update have disappeared.

Snooping with Wireshark show that, when the BB is enabled, an ISAKMP tunnel is established between the BB (at the address 192.168.2.17) and segw.uma.rogers.com (to 74.198.30.49), so there is absolutely nothing wrong with the wireless connection.  (My cell provider is Rogers).

My BB was received (all-new) beginning April 2012, and I've updated the device of the bundle bundle 6.0 695 to 6.0 2921 on 2012-04-12, after installing the Software Desktop on my PC.  (Desktop software offers the update, I did it just; I wasn't even aware of this community at later.)

Any help to solve this problem will be appreciated!

It's news to me.  Way to go with customer support, Rogers!

And what happens if your browser did not work at all?  It is not cellular, it's the internet.

This gave me the idea.  After having poking around in the different screens of the phone, I realized that defining "Data Services" under "Mobile network" to "off" turns off * all * data services, including a Wi - Fi connection.  This opens me to charges on cellular data binding, but the flaw in my plan "pay-as-you-go" is to ask me money before allowing access (and only for navigation), so as long as I open the browser outside of my home and my work, I'll be OK.

    Thanks for the tip.

  • Calibration of the screen touchscreen blackBerry Torch 9800 Smartphone

I'm the only one who has problems with the calibration of the touchscreen on the Torch 9800.

It is so far the only complaint on the phone. If there are useful tips out there, please answer!

What sort of calibration are you looking for?

I have my tactile sensitivity value:

    Type the interval: 450

    Period of hover: 600

    Slide sensitivity: 5

It works well enough for me. If you are leaving your finger hovering over, increase the hover higher, say 800.

  • BlackBerry Torch 9800 smartphones & not sync with Documents to Go

    Hi all:

I just bought a Torch 9800 using the latest desktop and OS 6.  I have loaded on Documents to Go that works fine on the BB, but it won't let me sync the Office for BB.  It gives me this message:

Your Blackberry device seems to be connected with Mass Storage Mode.  Documents to go Desktop don't pair or sync with devices connected in this way.  Please disconnect and reconnect your device with mass storage Mode disabled.

Does anyone know how to do this with device software version 6.0.0.141?

Actually, this can be done in two different ways.

    (1) connect your device to your PC and when the context menu is displayed, simply choose the option that says "Charge Only". This does not trigger on your torch mass storage mode, yet still allows access to your device.

    (2) the method of the other, more difficult is perhaps the total mass storage mode. Go to Options > device > storage. Once there, turn off mass storage mode.

  • BlackBerry Torch 9800 smartphones does not detect the wireless Ad Hoc network

I try to connect my Torch 9800 for the ad-hoc WiFi network, I put in place on my Windows 7 PC with Internet sharing.  However, the torch does not list even the SSID in the list of detected networks.  I confirmed that the network Ad - Hoc on Windows 7 is in mode ' Waiting for Users ' and the torch can detect other networks nearby.  I tried clicking on "Other ways to connect" and manually enter the SSID, but it still doesn't work.  I've also confirmed that other devices (an another laptop Win7 and an iPad) have no problem connecting to the Ad Hoc network and Internet connection sharing.  Any ideas?

Hi and welcome to the forums.

I'm sorry to say that for safety reasons RIM disabled their devices to connect to ad hoc networks
