I have a laptop HP with two drives. The C drive is intended to the BONE, with the D drive, intended to manage file storage. I didn't know that the music files were originally instructions in the C drive, which is now virtually full. I copied all the files of music, (both for drive D, but as a backup to external hard drive)... now, I need to know how to redirect the media player to be able to read the files from the disc... Please help me?
Open Media Player, click file on the Menu, click Open.
Using the folder display left side cover on your D drive, find your playlist or music file.
Click your playlist or music file, and then click Open.

Please use the Forum for answers!
I'm moving your message to the sounds and the media.
Rename the extension .mpg video and see if you are able to view them.
If this is not the case, check with JVC for instructions on how to edit video files.
I hope this helps.

How to place my target type? Media Player Windows open all the time. ?
I work in the window Vista Home Premium and two or three days for an unknown reason all (at least most) program I try to open, to be opened by Windows Media Player. Example, I tried to open Google Chrome or Skype or any application, but it cannot open. Instead, Windows Media PLayer will open with a statement indicating the support of windows media player cant the file. I looked under the Properties tab of the target still ends in .exe, but for some reason any TYPE TARGET indicates Windows Media Player. So I guess I'm asking how to change the default target for the appropriate program type? I tried to change the path by right-clicking on it, but there is no option for 'openwith '. It was just turn off. Help, please.

Hello all, I tried all the solutions advocated for the update to install drm security or for the upgrade button to not be gray, but I've tried every solution that includes the deletion, rename the file drm in the data of the program, the whole kit and the shebang and nothing worked or helped upgrade the drm from windows media player. I am subject to end here, because the upgrade of the drm is the only thing that will allow me to use my digital copies of movies that I bought and who have a digital copy of the film included with the purchase. Honestly, I don't know what else to do to reset the drm or use security update site Web component. I even tried to delete the drm registry entries and I get a failed to remove the error message. If someone could help me get the upgrade of the safety component, I would be very happy.
I realized what it was. the upgrade of the windows security component is not I repeat is not compatible with the preview of consumer of windows 8. I had to reinstall windows 7 to work.

The user of the pc says it all started when they double click on a file and was prompted to choose a program to open the file with... they chose Microsoft Word and it changed all of their MS Word icons icons.
Hope this helps someone.

My music files have changed in wma format in windows media player, and now my mp3 player won't play them. can anyone help please.
original title: Media PlayerDownload and install WMA to MP3 Converter, then install it, you can get it here... http://www.WMA-MP3.org/
Then select all the WMA files you want to convert, and then convert them to the MP3 Format. The reason why they are WMA is because when you ripped the files on the disc to your pc, by default, Windows Media Player is configured to save in the Windows Media Audio (WMA) Format. This default can be changed by opening Media Player and click on Tools > OptionsThen select the Rip music tabFormat: select MP3 from the drop-down list.Click apply and OK.Now the next time you rip a CD on your drive hard it will be automatically saved as an MP3 file. -
All of a sudden my pictures folders are now all show in Windows Media Player and I can't open each photo in full screen, but only in the video display mode. When I go to my pictures and choose view as thumbnails, that's fine, but when I click on the individual photo, it shows on the screen no video not in mode full screen and I can't move the photo to the photo without closing the video screen. How can I get my pictures on Windows Media Player?
This problem has now been resolved. I went in my computer > tools > Folder Options > file Type, select the type of file and clicked on advanced then > change and changed back to Windows Picture and Fax Viewer in Windows Media Player. I had the idea of a response posted on this forum about a different issue, but who pointed me in the right direction.

Can't my downloaded music to open in Windows Media Player and Make Playlists in Windows Media Player
Up to what a few days ago, I could download music (mp3)... put them in files... so being able to move to Windows Media Player and create playlists. The songs are all had small blue and white MP3 icon. It was great. Didn't matter if they come from youtube or has been downloaded sites and e-mail.
I had a virus and just had the computer repaired and recharged. Now all the mp3 files have the Red helmet icon and play on the music app. I really don't like this app and would like to change back to the old icon mp3. The computer has always had Windows 8 with the music app, but it never came in the image before. I know that Windows Media Player is not the best, but it worked great for what I had with my music. It seems that I can't do playlists on the media player more... He goes to the application of music and play on xbox music.
Please help me to recover from my years 50 era mp3. (I'm not a 'great' computer person, so I'd appreciate any help)
Thank you very much...
Paul
Hi Paul,.
The probable cause of this problem could be due to the 'Windows Media Player' is not defined as music player by default on your computer.
In Windows 8, Windows Media Player is more the default program to open files of music such as MP3 files. If you want to make sure Windows Media Player is the multimedia player by default as if it was in previous versions of Windows, please follow the methods in the links below.
