  Is properly installed wireless adapter driver?
  Go to start-> type devmgmt.msc-> press on enter. In the Device Manager window, expand network adapters. You should be able to see a list of network adapter as Ethernet, Bluetooth, etc. Make sure that you can find the adapter wireless from the list. If so, double-click it. Properties windows will be open. On the general tab, under device status, if it shows that the device is not functioning properly, please remove the case, locate the wireless network card and make sure the connections of antennas are coneected correctly. If even a connection is not properly connected or damaged, you cannot connect to any WiFi network.
  Response if the issue is not resolved.

  As mentioned for install the W2k you n t need additional drivers.
  I also recommend the HARD whole disk formatting and delete all partitions.

  In addition, you must use an original CD of Microsoft W2k. I read on the net that some people wanted to use the copy of the CD W2k, but this CD is not bootable.

  Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both

The problem is that there is now no facilities to choose from in the box below and the system is not recognizing the hard drive. I can't even as much as the screen to format the drive. When I press ENTER to install windows xp, then I get a blue screen telling me that the system shuts down to protect my pc. Is anyone able to tell me what to do to solve this problem please.   Sounds like a hard drive problem then. Your drive is maybe defective. First of all, you can use the partition of diagnostic Dell (F12) for its determination.

  In case there is a SATA problem, press F2 to enter the BIOS and change the setting of hard disk SATA to legacy. (Might as well try this first.)

  You must add the SATA/RAID driver.

  The issue is due to backplane having a bad rider on the expansion of the plant.  To correct this remove J15 the C2100 3.5 "bottom of basket, or backplane C2100 2.5 J7".  Refer to the below pictures to help locate the jumpers.

  Looks like your hard drive failure caused the accident. You need to replace it and then start with recovery disks to install hard drive again.
