Plug a second monitor using a VGA to a USB adapter, Windows 7

I am trying to connect an old monitor to my desktop computer all-in-one HP, but is of the old VGA monitor that is the block with 2 screws on each side.  So I bought a VGA cable of the USB adapter, because neither my office or my old monitor have AVI or connections HDMI and my office had no VGA port.

Now Windows does not detect my screen when I plug in, and I used the disc that came with the adapter cord and the monitor has its own power and old video audio style that I have the ports on my desk.

I'd appreciate any help you could give me it please and thank you.

Hello

Please contact Microsoft Community.

I understand that you are trying to connect an additional monitor to your desktop from the description of the problem, HP all-in-one and having problems in there.

I suggest you refer to the suggestion given byAndre Da Costa in the mentioned thread:

  • Pavilion p7-1054 PC: plug a second monitor

I have two video outputs.  One VGA and one DVI.  I recently bought a TV with an HDMI input.  I bought a HDMI cable and a HDMI-DVI adapter.

As indicated, I turned off the computer to hang it to the top.  After everything booted up I got a perfect image on the new TV, but the monitor with a VGA connection has only the wallpaper.  Because the screens are in different rooms, I'm not able to navigate to the things I want to view, for example ESPN3.

I read the online manual on the implementation of two monitors.  It seems that this installation should work.  I see no way to get in which is hooked up manually.  There is only one automatic recognition.

I know that I can solve this problem with a wireless keyboard with a slider control.  I'm hoping to do so without additional charge.

    Thank you.

When you say you "don't see bottom on the VGA monitor", do you mean the bottom of screen/watch on the computer? If you follow the steps in my previous post, the same that displays on your TV screen on your computer at the same time. The only complication is that you have to do it blind, because the orders were in the other room.

Instead of using your mouse to click on duplicate, we will try to select your keyboard. NOTE: this may take a few tries; if your screen is empty, don't panic, you can recover.

If you have another person in your House who could watch the TV screen, try this: ask the person to support to tell you when the duplicate is selected, hold down the Windows key and the key P approximately once every second couple. As soon as your Assistant tells you that duplicate is selected, press the P button and release the Windows key is no longer.

If you do not have a person for assistance, try this: hold down the Windows key and press the P button 4 times, then release. If the screen went all black, hold again and hold the Windows key and press 2 times P. repeat holding down the Windows key and the key P 2 times until you see the correct image on your computer screen.

  • Using the converter Comodow PD552 USB in Windows XP

I want to use Dragon Naturally Speaking on my Mac.  To do this, I bought a Comodow PD552 USB 3d sound converter, so I can plug my headphones (with double 3.5 mm sheets) into the USB port.

The unit works fine when I use it on Mac directly.  However, fusion does even not recognize it when I plug it into the USB port.

Is it possible to get the merger to see?  If not, are there one of these converters this merger can see?

My guess is that it is a USB HID class device (audio, to be precise). Fusion devices filter HID-class you can not (for example) accidentally connect your mouse or your keyboard to the virtual machine, that would be bad. See the User Guide running A VMware Fusion for how unfilter these devices.

  • Select vga for second monitor

I am trying to add a second monitor, but it does not receive a signal.

With the help of HP Paviion Elite HPE 210f running Win 7 64 bit. It has an ATI Radeon HD 5450 graphics card. I have been using a single monitor DVI-d port for a long time without any problem.  Now, I want to add a second monitor. The VGA port has a plastic screw top Cap. I removed the plug and plugged into the monitor. He doesn't get any signal from the computer. I tried to update the graphics driver that caused a blue screen. Restarted. Monitor main always ok, but nothing on the 2nd monitor.

Tried running the Catalyst Control Center. Graphic material tab to the main Board, it shows the graphic Chipset is ATI Radeon HD and all other info says "not available".  In the software Graphics tab, it shows

    2D 8.01.01.1186 driver version

The 2D driver file path is not available

    Direct 3D Version 7.14.10.0860

    Open GL version not available

Version of Catalyst Control Center 2009.1201.2247.40849

I have to do something to activate the VGA port?  This video card supports two ports/monitors?  I tried to look on the AMD website, but did not find anything specific to this topic.

Moreover, the primary monitor has a VGA cord plugged into an adapter into the DVI port.  Not sure if that makes a difference.

Here are the specs of your computer HPE-210f. Please note that DVI and VGA ports, which adjoin the rear USB ports are "blocked" for a reason. These video ports are disabled, because the ATI Radeon HD 4200 integrated graphics on the motherboard is disabled when a graphical supplement, as the included ATI Radeon HD 5450 card with your system, is installed. Only two ports that can be used are the DVI and HDMI in one of the slots of expansion above the back of the I/O shield. Please note that the DVI port can output digital (natively) or analog (using an adapter DVI / VGA) and the HDMI port can produce only digital signals. In all cases, one or two monitors must support digital signals.

I have a broken HP Pavilion DV1000. I don't see anything on the screen when it is tilted to normally, so I have to bend down a little to see something. for this reason that I want to connect to an external monitor using a VGA cable. With Windows 7, it is not a problem.

  • My PC "think that" there a second monitor which is the main (but it isn't), how to undo that?

I managed to set my main screen for a second non-existent monitor.  When I start my PC, the "secondary" monitor is the external monitor only connected to the PC, but the main office is LEFT more non-existent "primary" monitor (all my icons and the start menu are there as well - but I can't get to one of them).  If I right click on desktop to the secondary monitor (the monitor physical only), I can click on 'settings', but I only get the hourglass, which disappears after a few moments.  I presume that the video display settings applet opens on the primary monitor does not exist, but I can't seem to him.  I spent some time trying to 'capture' and move, but it's just frustrating and useless unfortunately.  Now...  I start in safe mode and go into the video settings, but there is no option for a second monitor. So, I have an amendment to the resolution of the screen available only in the hope that will force a change when I reboot, save and restart right of Windows XP.  When starting, the main office is always on the wrong monitor.  I've been asking questions already ;-)

    1. can I plug a second monitor? I can't because there is no other VGA connector on the machine, but there is a header on the System Board - however, it is disabled in the BIOS...
    2. don't reset the BIOS?  I did, I have reset several times, and there is no effect.
    3. do I tried another monitor to rule out the possibility of H/W failure any?  I have and get the same results.

Is there a way to simply put the display back set to 'normal '?  Unfortunately, without a solution for this, the machine useless.  I'm puzzled.

    Thank you!

  • It is supported to connect multiple monitors using USB as a video source?

    USB touch screens

It is supported to connect multiple monitors (specifically wireless) using USB as a video source?  If so, a hub would be able to handle this or the USB connection should be made directly to the motherboard or the PCIe interface.  Thank you!!!

    Hello

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community Forum.

You can buy a switch HDMI that allows you to connect several devices to sources HD (e.g., monitors, TVs etc.) to your computer, while using only one cable HDMI (VGA or DVI) of your computer to connect to the second monitor. So you can get a HDMI switch on your favorite search engine for compatibility information for the switch with Windows 8.1.

If you want to project, or sharing of the wireless display, you can use the utility Miracast.

  • How can I restore signal from my Mac Pro to my Viewsonic monitor, connected by VGA?

I have a Pro Mac OSX version 10.7.5 running. Trendy top is a monitor 24 inch Viewsonic, the only monitor connected. Last week, everything was fine. I stopped him all night and the next morning, when I tried to start, there was no signal from the Mac to the screen.

The screen displays a 'No Signal' message.

I checked the entry on the monitor, and it is correctly set to PC.

The computer starts normally. I can hear him do his thing.

The monitor starts up normally. No flashing or spots.

I tried restart, disconnect the monitor from the computer, just stop and unplug it, then reconnected. I tried to plug the old monitor (using VGA connection) and start again, with the same result.

I tried to recall the NVRAM (found the instructions on this site) and it made no difference.

It would be appropriate to get a HDMI cable to connect the?

It seems to me that if the computer does not recognize the monitor, try another cable wouldn't make any difference, but I'm really an 'end user' at this stage and would appreciate any advice.

  • second monitor does not... Help, please!

    Hello

    Computer: HP Compaq

    Model: CQ2700ED

    Windows 7 Home Premium 7SP1

I hooked a second monitor (Samsung with VGA connector) DVI-d port.

I use an adapter from dvi/VGA

When I turn on the second monitor, he says: "check signal cable".

In Control Panel / video, he did not see the second monitor.

    What could be wrong?

    Best,

    Rob

Here are the specifications of your desktop Compaq CQ2700ED. According to the specification, this model has a DVI - D output (digital only) and a VGA (analog only) output as shown below.

    (2) - port VGA port DVI - D (3)-

There is no liability "adapter" that can be purchased which allows to convert a digital signal to analog. The only way that you will be able to use two monitors with this computer in its current configuration is using a monitor with VGA input and a monitor with DVI - D input.

Please provide the number of brand and model of both monitors you are trying to connect to your computer. This will allow us to determine options that you have with your existing monitors.

  • Windows 98 does not recognize second monitor

    Hello

I am trying to get Windows 98 to recognize an old graphics card so I can use two monitors. I installed an old map of Weitek power 9001 and allegedly installed Windows drivers for it. I plugged the second monitor, and nothing happens. When I go to display properties, it only shows two monitors. Is the graph incompatible card or what?

You need to download the drivers from the graphics card company Web site directly.  The default Windows drivers do not support the two monitors.

  • ENVY Beats All - In - One Desktop: how to connect a second monitor/TV to HP ENVY Beats all-in-One

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could tell me if it is even possible to plug a second monitor HP ENVY Beats all-in-one desktop PC, because I'm trying to connect my TV as a second monitor via HDMI, and I tried everything I could, but came empty-handed?

    Hello

What is the product/model of your AIO machine? I have a lot of cases, you cannot use HDMI port to connect to a TV, because it's the HDMI IN port. You need USB - HDMI converter/adapter to connect to a TV (or monitor).

    Kind regards.

  • Not able to connect the second monitor

    Implementation:

    New (Nov 2014) Lenovo PC

    AMD A8 H535

    Windows 8.1

AMD Radeon HD D 7560 w / VGA output and an HDMI output

Two HP w1907 monitors (resolution is identical on both screens - when they work together)

    Question:

Last night I plugged my second monitor to the HDMI output with an HDMI adapter / VGA of the Amazon ( adapter ), plug the monitor into it has not come and via the control panel (I tried both via the control panel and some change PC settings) could not detect the second monitor. Then, I went to the HP website and downloaded the drivers, but to no avail. Then I reached down and unplugged the second monitor and resettled to make sure that there is a link, this solved the problem. The monitor came and no further investigation was necessary. However, this morning I woke up the computer to a single monitor and still unable to detect the second monitor. Only when I unplugged and re-inserted the link it works.
