Podcast files

When I transfer my gPodder podcasts in my Clip +, I find some of the podcasts in the folder music Podcasts, but not all.  I can find the missing podcasts in Play All or recently added.  How can I get all the podcasts to go in the Podcasts folder?

Problem solved.  Apparently, the video uses the label information to decide how it will organize podcasts that I transfer.  If the tag info is incomplete or inaccurate, the Clip sorts podcasts in unexpected places on its menu. So now before transferring podcasts, I use a viewer/editor tag for review to the tags on the podcasts, change them as needed and then transfer them to the Clip.  They have now all find themselves in the Podcast folder.

PS curiously, even when I dragged and dropped the podcasts in the Podcast folder of the Clip, the Clip still on the list of the podcasts in unexpected places on its menu.  Apparently, it uses its internal rules for tag info to decide where the files in the list.

  • My podcast file is a hot mess!

I listen to a lot of podcasts and download them on iTunes and, occasionally, the site of podcasters.  For some reason, some podcasts are found in the 'unknown' consolidated file.  For example, I listen to the Nutrition Diva.  10 these podcsts are found in the unknown section while 10 others will end up in the folder "Nutrition Diva." When I compare them, they have all the appropriate and sometimes identical metadata that should combine them all.  How can I make sure that all the podcasts have their own records, so I'm not scroll 100 loose "unknown" episodes to find what I'm looking for?

I run a 10.9.11 Mac at home and a PC Microsoft Vista at work.

Maybe the Nutrition Diva is sloppy on the electronic tags, ID3 tags in files, or uses a version of label that does not recognize the "rocket".

The "folder" that you see is actually a list made from what the "rocket" reads from the artist tag in the file.  If the artist is empty, he goes to a stranger.

Standardize them yourself. Use the Windows computer and mp3tag.

Install mp3tag.  When you install, let it be added to the context menus (an option during installation).

Open mp3tag and in tools, Options, Tags, Mpeg do option Write ID3v2.3 ISO-8859-1.

Go to the podcasts folder. Right, and just click below search... you should see mp3tag. Until it clicks, mp3tag will list the files. Highlight all, make sure it has correct information in the title, artist, Album and Genre (podcasts) and Save. Which will make them all ID3v2.3 ISO-8859-1 and the Sansa should read.

If I want to have the Clip + use the special treatment of audio books and Podcasts based on being placed in the records of audiobook or Podcast that I use just the main memory or can I have audio files and Podcast on the microSD as well and the Clip + will integrate the records of these two places?

"If I want to have the Clip + use the special treatment of audio books and Podcasts based on being placed in the records of audiobook or Podcast that I use just the main memory or can I have audio files and Podcast on the microSD so and records of these two places will integrate the Clip +?

YES. The player creates folders of audio books and podcasts on the card the first time, that it is inserted in the drive.

If the files are placed in these folders, the tag of the genre didn't need to be edited.

I am running iTunes on Windows 10 12.1.5.21. It is renaming downloaded podcast files based on the title tag. How can I keep the original names in his diet, not to rename them?

You can not. You may be able to rename it in a format customized with my CustomRenamer script or something similar, but that requires that you disable the option keep organized for the rest of your library.

  • Walkman app shows only not my podcast downloaded mp3 and m4a files

    Hi all

Hope someone can help me with a problem on my Z3 Compact running firmware Lollipop 5.0.2.

I have a folder on my SD card which contains all my music files in subfolders and all these files will appear in the app Walkman music very well.

I have also two folders called "Podcasts" - one on the internal memory and the other on the SD card containing mp3 and m4a files that I downloaded using 3rd party applications.

I would listen to these podcast files using the Walkman application - but they will not appear in Walkman - even if I try the options.but of records it still no poster or Podcast files.

The strange thing is it lists the voices and sounds / voices rom two different files that are stored on the SD card - SatNav but not records podcast!

It lists even a folder of files mp3 audio of foreign language - but not the podcast files.

Podcast files appear in PowerAmp that still shows the labels and descriptions etc... So, why not Walkman?

I even tried dismantling and reassembly of the SD card to see if it would rescan - but still nothing.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you!

  • Almost all of the Podcasts are deleted

    Hello

Last night all my podcasts has been deleted in a mystical way.

I think it has to do with my Itunes on my work with windows pc.

All the podcast (about 30-40) has removed two excepted.

I could add all the podcast of 30-40 (if I remember them all)

but prefer to see if I could open the ITL file see what podcast that I had and add them again.

IPhone, ipad and its cloudsync removed for the gain or loss in my case this time.

Anyone has an idea how to import or return once again my podcast?

IM at work atm so a solution for Windows is preferred now ;-)

ITunes for Windows 12.4.2.4 on Windows 10 (playing at work podcast)

Without knowing more, I suspect an involuntary intervention of settings on various devices and the ability to sync the podcast settings.

As long as the podcast files are always in your media file, or you can restore from a backup, you can add files to the library. If iTunes does not automatically recognize as podcasts, you can change the media type. See, however, first Re: why has he deleted iTunes 11.1 (126) all (SEVERAL HUNDREDS) Podcasts? and this post later in the same thread that mentions a file recovery possible of tools that might be able to recover some lost files if you don't have them elsewhere. If the lost episodes are on a device Apple see recover your iTunes from your iPod or an iOS device. You need to make sure that your settings are such that iTunes will not unexpectedly wipe new episodes.

You can not inspect the .itl file, but you can try to access the version before the library in the previous iTunes libraries folder updated, however don't do this if there is a risk of podcast settings updated again until you've got backups of all files.

  • How can I get my YouTube video podcast in my iTunes RSS feed?

I want my video podcast on YouTube to show up in my stream iTunes, but how? All links in this forum for what appear to be old.

Welcome to the tips, thank you!

I know it's possible - see Ricky Gervais hosted example attached - but where the video download (used to YouTube nothing for this?)

You cannot use YouTube videos in iTunes. Videos must be one of the following specific formats: .m4v, .mov or .mp4 (no Flash, Realvideo or WMV). In the Ricky Gervais podcast files are mp4. Files can be hosted on an ordinary web server, but it must be able to manage "byte range requests", something you would need to check with the people who run it.

  • iTunes has lost a lot of podcasts - suggestions

I'm guilty of being a crook podcast - but I never know what I'll have to dig in the next time I'm stuck in the House in a snowstorm.  I have a large external drive with plenty of space, the space is not the issue.

It has happened, and it happened again.  After an update to iTunes (12.3.3.17), I think that all my podcast subscriptions are intact, but lists of podcasts in some of them are much shorter than them.  Further examination, I see that there are many more files in the directory .../iTunes/Podcasts on the counter at the bottom of the iTunes screen.  And if I look deeper into the subdirectories I see almost all podcast files, they seem to have been abandoned off the coast of the iTunes index.

    Any suggestions?

I think seriously to give up iTunes and go to another podcast application.  I gave the Apple podcast app on my iPhone and I am very happy with overcast sky, but it is iPhone only.  Besides I have different sets of podcasts between iPhone and MacBook is not as important to me as it is to other synchronization between the two.

  • Make iPhone iPod for podcasts to imitate

I have been using an iPod touch to listen to podcasts for years and really how he manages. I would like to have the Setup on my iPhone to mimic what I could do on the iPod, essentially ignoring all WiFi and cellular capabilities of the iPhone.

Specifically, I want to do all my download on my laptop via iTunes and use iTunes to decide what future episodes to my iPhone. (I have a large library of old podcasts on the computer and, occasionally, as mark as unread and bringing over the device to get back at them and I also like to manage my substantial table of subscriptions via a big screen and keyboard).

I want the phone application to show me that my episodes recorded and specify which are read, unplayed. Is it possible to adjust the parameters of the iPhone app to make this happen? Or am I condemned to manage my podcasts on the phone now?

I doubt that you will be able to do through the app of Podcasts Caveat: I dropped the synchronization of podcast (a podcast) files between my computer and the iPhone for years because it does just simply no more; Maybe it is improved now, even if I doubt. What you want is not possible and it's always what I do, but it's a heck of a lot more complicated than seven or eight years ago.

What I do: on the computer, change all downloaded podcasts Media type = audio book or music. (Select a file, command - I to get information, select Options, and then in the Media like audio book or music menu.) Note: these podcasts will download then again - I just mark as played the second time.

If you have files like music or audio books, you can sort them into playlist, smart or dumb, and then sync them to your iPhone.

If you change the media type of music: playlists behave pretty predictably, but you lose things like jump of 15 seconds. The times-podcasts-now-music will play music on your iPhone through the app. It can also make things weird if you use Apple music and iCloud music library or whatever it is called. (This problem is one of the reasons I don't use music to Apple.) If you have playlists of music based on 'media type = music', you will also have problems.

If you change the media type of audio books: you keep the memory-jump function, so that's good, but the times-podcasts-now-audio books (in general) will not play through music - instead, they'll be in the iBooks app for the iPhone by default, and that leads to a series of problems. Playlists that you set in iTunes will determine what you can synchronize, BUT these playlists do not actually appear in the iBooks app. Instead, you will see just all different content organized by title or author, or other selected criteria. In addition, the game counts become totally foires, at least in my experience. For example, I often 10 unplayed episodes of "things you should know" synced to my iPhone and if I use the app for audio books to play only the seventh of these episodes, then #1 à #7 seem to all get marked as being played (and often marked as played twice, who knows why).

What I use instead: Browser Audiobook, an application designed by a person who is active in this forum. It is not the prettiest of apps, but it keeps the playlists and unlike in iBooks, in audio book browser you can see playlists. I don't think he can play consecutive episodes - just one, and then you must select a different episode. It works much better than the iBooks to play app sync playlists files short audiobook (originally podcast), and he manages the counties of predictable game.

    So my workflow:

    1. Podcasts that I listen to and then delete (new, for example): I use covered to subscribe to these on my iPhone. Now I avoid Podcasts of Apple app and my life is better for it.
    2. Podcasts I want to keep: I subscribe to these on my computer (and all the options that even alluded to the synchronization are disabled). Manual update only. Every day I 'Refresh' and download and change the type of media for each group of audio books. Then I refresh it once again, the same podcasts download it again, and I mark these additional files as played.
    3. Every day I have manually sync my iPhone with my computer, and copy the times-podcasts-now-audio books. (Of course, happens if my photo library is cooperating so far here, but it is another matter.)

It's the craft on hack on hack, and it seems that each update IOS, Apple adds another complication.

    Good luck!

  • Fuze and Clip back audiobook and takes over the functions of podcast

I would like to see a podcast of resumé and a function of recovery audiobook on the Clip and the "rocket" so that I can play the part of a podcast or audio book, play music, then go back where I was in the podcast or audio book without having to remember what audiobook or podcast file played last , and how to navigate. I also want players to mark podcast and audiobook files as read when they are listened to completely, the capacity of the list only unread audiobook or podcast files and a function on the player to remove all the podcasts or books that have been read.

Apparently, this issue has been addressed on the rocket, Clip and Clip +. I had not read that it was addressed and assumed that it was not. When you play a 'audio book' Park then some music files, then go back to the "book", it highlights the last file read in the book. In the past, I had made my series of podcasts in the audiobook on the Clip and the rocket record, but then ceased to do this. Now, I have a good reason to put them there once again. It's in the notes of the firmware and I missed it, or if it was not documented? In any case, I am pleased that this has been addressed.

I am pleased that Sandisk responds to our requests when they are reasonable. I wish I had known earlier that this question is dealt with.

  • Newby Question about downloading Podcasts and play on music video more

I get my new podcasts from a variety of sites of English radio (six or seven), including CBC, BBC, NPR, etc..

I use MS Vista with FLOW RSS to download.

I noticed that some of the podcasts automatically from one to the other on my video play, and I noticed that some of them are grouped in the other subdirectories, and I have to fix each subdirectory to play these. What I understand reading this Sansa community site, my camera Clip done automatically for me.

On my very old mp3 player, he would like to download all my podcasts in a directory and I play a podcast to the next, non-stop. For me, it was easy and without violin.

I discovered, yesterday, that if I had used entered MS Vista the-properties of the mp3 files downloaded and selected the 'details' and them selected "remove properties and personal information", as all the podcasts would change and liquidate showing them in two folders on my Clip 1. 2 podcasts. Records

    I have two questions;

    1. I lose all the features on the Clip, when I do this? I noticed, that he still remembered when I left a podcast before the end, and I want back to him

    2. is there an easier way for me to get all the podcasts in one place, so I can not listen to stop without changing the records? and without having to delete the properties and each of them?

Help is very appreciated. Thank you

"Not all of them appear in the directory"Podcast"on the Clip. All except a show in the directory "Folder" on the Clip. "

If they are in the folder podcast on the player, they should all be available in the submenu of podcast. Some may be listed as unknown though, if their title tag is missing. When you navigate using the submenu podcast, this is done using the title tag. Why edit tags that may be missing or in error is a good idea.

You could use the navigation in the files and play them all if there are no subfolders.

However, the best idea is to group the podcasts in albums (with each file in an album with the same tag to album). Then you can read the album of podcasts as a series. The advantage of this is that if you read some files from podcast in the series, music, then turn off the player, when you return to the submenu podcast, the reader will remember what podcast file is changed during playback.

  • How can unnecessary files, I remove them?

Many of my podcasts are useless files that begin with '.» _"and the name of the podcast file but contains no real information.  All these files are grouped in the category of 'Unknown' podcast on my rocket and despite several attempts to reach identification info, there is not.

I use an iBook at home and a Windows Vista computer at work.  I would like to know how to delete files unnecessary and attribute at least identifying information in files in the category "unknown."

    TIA

Your files need unknown labels - electronic tags that support mp3 files. Podcasters can be lax in this regard.

You can click right into Windows and go to properties/summary/advanced and add it.

Or make your life easier and download mp3tag, freeware from http://www.mp3tag.de/en/ the installation, allow it to be added to the context menus.

Under Tools/Options/Tags/Mpeg default set to write ID3v2.3 ISO-8859-1, more readable to the "rocket".  Make sure that you save.

Then right-click on the podcast, highlight it in mp3tag and add the information. Doing the Podcast Genre so the "rocket" it will consolidate separately music.

You must also run your mp3 albums through mp3tag - select all the files and click on tools. The wizard of automatic numbering with zeros (so the track numbers are 01, 02 and not 1/12, 2/12). Who will also save tags like ID3v2.3 ISO-8859-1.
