Pop Ups blocked when I want to enable them

I recently did a new install to solve another problem and have had to customize my settings, modules etc. Since I did I can't respond to the comments of my emails Dreamwidth without getting the message that the pop-up is blocked and click on allow each time. If I hold down CTRL key and click on answer, that it becomes round but it didn't pass me on the relevant tab which is something, I always enjoyed as often, I have a lot of tabs open.

I tried blocking does not pop-ups at all and adding dreamwidth.org such authorized and www.dreamwidth.org as admitted but none of them seem to help.

I'd appreciate it if anyone knows where I went wrong. I might have something checked or unchecked I don't know.

I have Mozilla set to not to remember anything, but that was always the case before so I don't think it should be a problem.

HI Auds77,
Only another preference for pop ups are if you right-click on the page and select "Page information".

The permissions tab will have the pop up rule for the Web page.

    Install this module: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/adblock-plus/

Have you checked the issuer of the certificate?

Try renaming the file cert8.db in cert8.db.old in the Firefox profile folder to remove all the intermediate certificates that Firefox has stored by visiting secure Web sites.

If it helped to solve the problem you can delete the renamed file cert8.db.old unless you have certificates of user you can first export and import them into the new file.

Otherwise, you can restore the certificates by renaming (copy) the file cert8.db back

Firefox will automatically store the new intermediate certificates when you visit Web sites that send them.

  • Mediathek photo: A way to keep the Photos on Photos.app when you want to remove them on the iPhone?

I understand the concept of the Mediathek Photo.

The goal is to keep the Photos on different places for example iPhone, iCloud and synchronized Macbook.

    Automatically.

Because the volume of data on my iPhone is not very large, sometimes I have to delete the photos.

Is it possible to prevent these pictures from beeing deleted on the Macbook?

Or do I have to completely give up the automatic transfer of photos only?

In my mind, I think of a kind of function of archive for Photos.app.

A flag that prevents pictures archived the synchronization beeing part.

Can you give me an opinion please?

    Thank you.

Because the volume of data on my iPhone is not very large, sometimes I have to delete the photos.

Photo library of iCloud will synchronize the full library of Photos.   If you remove a photo from the library on a device, it will be removed from all libraries in snced on other devices.

One way to synchronize on a selective basis would be to have more than one library of Photos on the MacBook. A library of synchronization iCloud Wavec with only the photos you want on your iPhone.  And a library with other photos that you don't want in iCloud.  See this help page on the use of several libraries: https://help.apple.com/photos/mac/1.0/?lang=en#/pht6d60b524

Another approach would be to use "Optimize storage" on the iPhone.  Then the photos will be optimized smaller photos on the iPhone store and more pictures will be fit.

  • How to block pop ups

    Hello

Today, while using other programs on my laptop, I have pop ups of the internet coming on the screen.

I have not had this problem before and I don't know how to stop them.

I checked in Internet Explorer and pop-up Blocker functionality is still on.  I also run McAfee Internet Security, but the firewall is enabled always thus.

I received a message today from McAfee indicating that a file attempts to access the internet and I want to allow this.  I still say no.  The specified file is - C:\users\***\appdata\local\temp\sdq.exe.  Could it be related to the problem?

Does anyone know how to stop this, I don't like the idea of junk files that can open it on my computer?

    Thank you very much

    AstoriaBoro

Update your McAfee and run the full scan of the system and see if it detects something or not.

  • Pop - ups of WebHelp and blocker of the end-user

Hi all, I searched the forums and help online, but can't find any info on this. I have the following questions regarding security and pop-up blocker my end user:

If the user has the blocker enabled, it blocks Webhelp pop ups?
If so, the blocker will block also see the button pop ups?
In addition, if the pop-up Blocker is enabled and it blocks pop-ups of Webhelp, having the user to add my Web site to the trusted list would allow pop-ups?
Can you think of any other "security question" of the end user I need to study that I see my help?

    Thank you!
    want2bewiser

    Welcome to the forum.

Blockers cannot block webhelp popups because they are user initiated when they click on a link. My understanding is that blockers are designed to prevent the unwanted popup windows.

I think that the other main issue is to ensure webhelp is the type of assistance, it will be run from a server rather than be installed on PC users.

  • I totally disable updates, so I stop doing a gazillion of pop-ups on an update, I don't want?

I am very happy with the version of Thunderbird that I use.

How can I totally disable updates, so I get a gazillion of pop-ups on an update, I don't want to stop me?

Tools > Options > advanced > Update tab

This is where the settings are about the updates.
    There are three options:
1 auto check and install updates
2 auto check but ask me if I want to install
    3. do not check

Looks like the second option is selected, it's check and asking with a command prompt. I also use this becaue I want to keep updated with corrections of bugs and security issues, but I want to update when I say and not when I'm in the middle of something important.

Thunderbird update will contain updates of security, bug fixes etc.
You should be aware that selection update may affect your security risk.

  • How to block the new generation of pop ups and "pop-ins."

He seems to have been a radical change in the design of Web site lately. In particular, it seems to be a new generation of windows that appear after only a certain amount of elapsed time pop up or when we scroll pretty far down on the page. Most are designed to 'pop' on the sides; These usually crept in almost like an animation.

I have pop-up blocking enabled in FF and I tried some add-ons, but I'm not able to defeat these "features". All advice is appreciated.

Sorry, these "ins slide" are not related to windows 'pop up' or 'pop-under' of windows. That type of display is done through HTML5 coding. Do not know how this can be prevented, but they are certainly aggravating.

  • Why FireFox fails recently block pop-ups?

Recently the pop-ups began to appear. The content parameter is to block pop-ups. I used CCleaner to "clean" the hard drive and do a full scan with Microsoft Security Essentials to try to get rid of the problem. But today, I always get a pop up telling me that my computer will not support playback of a video, making, it will support. My operating system is Windows XP with the latest upgrade packages.

When I installed your troubleshooting window, I had a pop up telling me that there is spyware on my system. I think it is too much a fraudulent pop-up.

Hello dfwlms, this looks like a problem maybe caused by adware already on your pc. Please go to firefox > addons > extensions & remove
OfferMosquito 0.9 extension - it is rather rare and could be malicious.

also, go to the windows control panel / programs and remove all toolbars or potentially unwanted software from there and run a full scan of your system with security tools like the free version of malwarebytes & adwcleaner.

Remove a toolbar that has supported your Firefox or the homepage search
Fix Firefox problems caused by malicious software

I have not tried Firefox 23 yet, so I don't know personally with the shield icon. However, I think he can do refers to "mixed content", i.e. the introduction of insecurity in a secure page.

The shield look like the one shown in this article: mixed content blocker hit Firefox Beta!.

  • Pop - ups being not blocked

I have the latest Firefox (18.0.2) on Mac 10.7.5. A few days ago I have updated with the latest Java (7_13) because we use software in my company that requires it.

Before the update, Firefox blocked two pop-up ads on the web site of my company (www.lawtechnologynews.com).

After the update, the pop - ups are is more blocked. I made sure that the blocker is always enabled and that our areas are not excluded.

    Any ideas?

I realized that during my Java updates and Firefox, I somehow lost the Windows ad blocker extension. Reinstalled, and now it works fine.

  • I get pop up windows when I use my browser even though I turned off pop ups. I have even new windows that open automatically. How can I fix?

I have pop ups and new windows that open automatically when using my browser, I have pop ups off. How canI solve this problem?

    Hi Snyder22,

I understand how frustrating it can be to see ongoing ads on your computer. I have an article for you with information about the stop of this behavior:

Stop the cAds in Safari - Apple Support

    https://support.Apple.com/en-us/HT203987

The behavior you describe can be better attributed to adware, referred to in this section of the article mentioned above:

If you could have the adware installed on your Mac.

If the pop-ups still on your Mac, you might inadvertently downloaded and installed adware (advertising-taking software supported). Some software that you download from some third-party download sites can include the software you want and the adware.

If you think you have Adware on your Mac, update to the latest version of OS X El Capitan. If your Mac already has the latest version of El Capitan, restart it. El Capitan removes adware only when connecting. If you still see the advertising on your Mac, Contact Apple.

Be vigilant and thank you for visiting the communities of Apple Support.
