  • Annoying problem with popups on Safari (iOS)

So I guess I have to call in Help: since a few days, I have an annoying popup the problem that prevents me to properly use Safari on my iPhone 5 (9.2.1). It's one of those 'you have won an iPhone 6 press OK to continue' - scams and it just won't go away.

When I visit the seemingly random sites, it appears. I deleted my web data, even deleted all the data from my iPhone, but nothing done. When I disable Java it stops, but the popup returns as soon as I turn it on again. I have not downloaded new applications in the past that a few weeks am visiting questionable Web site or weird; It seems just to appear randomly on sites like Meteoritic.

I have no idea what is the cause, but it is extremely annoying and she also scares me a little. Guys do you have an idea what to do?

Originally it is 'bad guys' flooding the web with pop-up windows. These are led by Java.

Do you have popups disabled? Settings > Safari > block Popups or is that what you mean when you say disable Java?

It's a real problem without an effective solution. Java has value.

  • Safari redirects all my tabs Web Spam or Popups

Got an iPhone 5, iOS 9.3.1. Since yesterday, when I was watching by chance Facebook Safari began redirecting the 50% of my requests from web browser to some ad site called oneclick.com, which redirects me then directly to various annoying popus, declaring that "OMG YOU has WON THE LOTTERY CLICK HERE TO REQUEST YOUR 100 MILLION PRICE" or some other naughty >:)

    I tried:

    -upgrade to the latest iOS

    -tried to turn phone on/off

-updated all applications on the phone for the latest versions

-made sure all popups in Safari settings app blockers are enabled,

    But nothing

My phone is useless now. The only thing that help a little to use the anti-ad application, which at least does the site completely empty when I'm redirected to a fraudulent site forcefully.

    What can I do?

settings - safari - erase history data and the Web site

  • SCAM: Popup 'Apple security warning' in Safari

There is an online scam targeting OSX users via a popup of Safari:

Do NOT call this number, it's a scam.

The popup itself exceeds the size of the screen, so that the 'Cancel' button is unclickable, but even dismissing it with other methods (like ESC) make it appear again.  You must quit Safari and restart while now Shift to prevent bad page load again.  For reference, the URL was "https://storage.googleapis.com/systemconfigirationrequiredduetomjaorissues/mac/i ndex.html" but please do not visit!

I had a friend who fell for her, and she gave these people $ 300 to "solve" the problem.  More painful, she followed the instructions of granting them access to his computer remotely.  Upon learning this, I got it to restore all of the backup system (TYMV Time Machine!) and she is trying to change all his passwords.

The money went to a China-based payment processing intermediate, and scammers sent him to DocuSign to "confirm the work has been accomplished."  I guess that these measures are taken to make it difficult to recover the funds, even if his credit card company have indicated that they would probably reverse charge.

The good news is that I've just updated to the last Safari (9.0.2), and now the popup may be rejected:

I honestly don't know if this was something has changed in Safari, or if the code was different; This time, he started to READ THE MESSAGE aloud in a loop, I so was very happy to be able to reject.

The same scam appeared on my iMac. And looking over 2500 views on this page, I suspect that many other people had the same thing happen to them. I was wondering if Apple, which has labor behind them, can do something. Hope that at least they have air in it.

I have a MacPro retinal mid 2012 and spin Yosemite 10.10.5.  Two or three days I had a popup on Safari re Adobe Flash is more [work] when I was in the middle of something. • Cookie of Safari of pop - up + questionable Adware - help!

I just got this weird popup in Safari (a background tab has been opened) and when I went to that, that's what part of it looked like (screenshot):

I thought that it is a scam and immediately closed the tab. TBQH, it I freaked out a little because I started to have Windows 98 déjà vu and have always known this on a Mac I have never go on sites randomly and frequently check the security updates (adobe, browser system., etc.).

Anyway, I went in Safari preferences and decided to take a look in the cookies where I came across this cookie to: infection - system - virus (dot) com

    Here is the screenshot:

Question: Should I delete this cookie? What in the world? Am I infected or has malware? I'm worried I have a virus and receive more concerned at the moment. Help!

    Thank you very much

FYI: I'm on Mavericks (latest updates installed), Safari 9.1.1, on a Macbook Pro (mid-2012).

In response to my original question - if I understand post Linc Davis on one post someone to another upthread - I need to remove/reset my browser cookies (and history) in Safari preferences. I hope that is correct and not a sign of malware, etc., hiding in my system?

That apply to the Mavericks by using Safari 9.1.1 (last) or only at El Capitan and Yosemite OS x?

Should I still run some kind of scan or antivirus on my macbook pro just to be safe? If Yes, where and what?

    Thank you.

  • Safari has found a Trojan virus (e.tre456_worm_osx).

I thought that I was updating my flash drive, but apparently, instead I installed malicious software on my iMac.  Now, whenever I run Safari, I get redirected to a page that looks like it tries to be the Apple Support, but wants me call (and pay, I'm sure) to get this virus deleted from my computer.  I have also get this popup notice, "Safari has found a Trojan virus (e.tre456_worm_osx) on your Mac.  The site I'm headed to that is http://apple.com-systemnotice.com.  Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Don't go to the site. Download and run MalwareBytes. Malwarebytes was developed by one of our colleagues here to ASC. He received rave reviews and is on the more proven anti-malware for Mac software.

  • No downloads, no support, no. MyVmware - ideas?

Hi, 5 days ago I bought a VMWare Fusion 8 upgrade, but since then I have been unable to download. The download buttons do not work, do not load the web pages support, do not work phone number pages, the emails that I receive with my Bill are all do not respond. I use Safari on El captain. Release of the popups on Safari had no effect.

    Not impressed. Is someone there?

    Thank you

    Hello

While I do not work for VMware, I might have a solution, download the new version via:

Try VMware Fusion or Fusion Pro.

The downloads here (both links are the same btw) are the same exact files as what you get in the protected download pages.

Once you enter your registration information, it unlocks the trial to the full version.

The downside is that you can download the latest version out there, but I think that's exactly what you wanted anyway.

These types of download problems sometimes. VMware support usually suggests to try and use a different browser or download via another machine.

Personally, I know that the CDN nodes are sometimes flaky and I suspect that the node that manages your downloads just craps out myvmware without knowing them.

Using another browser does not help much in this case.

If you give me your location (for example. Texas, USA. or something) then I'll pass the info on anyone from VMware.
