Port of VPN PPTP WRT120N

I'm trying to connect to the network through Microsoft PPTP VPN on port 1723, however when I add "Of Applications and games" on the router (chosen in the menu drop-down), it shows as port 1720 and is not connecting. If I port manually before 1723 below, it still will not connect. If I add my IP as a DMZ, it connects successfully. I started with the 1.0.04)is firmware and updated 1.0.06 and it still fails with the firmware versions and the built in PPTP definition shows like port 1720. What should I do?

It seems to be a problem with router is. I had a problem. At home, I have a XP PC and a WRT120N. About the remote location a Draytek 2200E with active VPN server. Sometimes no VPN connection possible. WRT/off voltage switching, then possible once to configure the PPTP protocol. Second time fails. Replacing the WRT120N by an another 2200E Draytek (home side) and now everything is OK. Seems to be a bug in the software of passthough PPTP.

    Hello

  • A connection VPN (PPTP), who worked previously no longer works.

    original title: VPN works not

    PROBLEM:

I'm running Vista 64 Ultimate SP2, with all Microsoft Updates applied.  My original CD is pre - SP1.
A connection VPN (PPTP), who worked previously no longer works.
I think that the problem is related to an installation of Virtual PC or iTunes, but I can't confirm either way.
Unfortuantely, I do not have a restore point dated to before the problem.

    DETAILS OF THE PROBLEM:

When I'm viewing the network drivers in Device Manager, the following drivers displayed an error:

    Miniport Wan (IP)
    Miniport Wan WAN (IPv6)
    Miniport Wan (Network Monitor)
    Miniport WAN (PPPOE)
    Miniport Wan WAN (PPTP)

The error for each text is: "Windows cannot load the driver for this hardware device. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39) »

The following drivers do NOT display an error:

    Miniport Wan WAN (L2TP)
    Miniport WAN (SSTP)

    SOLUTIONS ALREADY ATTEMPTED:

Uninstalling Virtual PC has not solved the problem.
Uninstall device drivers and re - install it as described in the following web pages did not help the problem:

    http://www.chicagotech.NET/NetForums/viewtopic.php?p=988&SID=39aeb8e5e43c459
    http://www.howtonetworking.com/Vista/rebuildminiport.htm
    http://www.experts-exchange.com/software/System_Utilities/Remote_Access/VPN/Q_24291900.html

In general, I am able to uninstall device drivers, but re-plant fails (sometimes reported as successful, sometimes not).

I have presented a problem report on the failure of resettlement of Microsoft (including the following in the log files), but have received no solution:

    DMIC8E.tmp.log.XML
    LOGC9F.tmp
    netrasa.inf
    Setupapi.app.log
    Setupapi.dev.log

I noticed that the device (loser) of WAN Miniport (PPTP) lists two files: 'ndistapi.sys' and "raspptp.sys", of which the first is NOT digitally signed, but the second is.  However, the peripheral Miniport WAN (L2TP) (work) lists only one file: "rasl2tp.sys" which is signed digitally.  This brings me to the question if my netrasa.inf installation file is currupted. (?)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  I am technically competent and can deal with editing the registry, etc, but need a plan of attack.

    Thank you!

  • E3000 resets occasionally wired port when connecting to the VPN PPTP using Windows 7.

I've had an E3000 for a few months now and a couple of times per week that the router loses wired Ethernet connectivity while PPTP VPN connects via Windows 7. The router does not actually resets itself... but darkens light of wired connection, the computer establishing VPN, and connectivity to the router is lost. Within 30 to 45 seconds, the port becomes active, once more, and to establish the VPN connection. I've not seen this on a wireless connection, but I do not often, which may be why. Similarly, I have not seen this on my Vista or XP wired computers using the Windows VPN client... but then again I can't use them often enough to meet the problem.

I see this mostly on my Windows 7 (x 64) SP1, it also appeared pre - SP1, development equipped PC IP6 disabled on the PPTP VPN. And I don't see that on the establishment of a connection... once the connection has been made I can be operational for hours (5/6 or more a day) with no issue.

While this issue causes me all real headaches like this doesn't happen on the connection... I thought someone should know.

    abandoned,

Gave to your suggestion to try, but did nothing to eliminate the problem. The router was already on the version the most recent but re-flashed in any case. I ran 3 days on an old Windows XP machine connected to a different port on the router, I had 3 days to do work, and I've never had the drop on the VPN port. But this morning back on my Windows 7 machine... the port fell during my first attempt... I then had no problem, the rest of the day. Despite her disconnect and reconnect a PPTP VPN a few times more. Go figure.

Let's consider this resolved... as I don't want to lose too much everyones time hassling with something that seems to be minor. Thanks for the help!

  • Not ios10 blocking VPN PPTP connections through personal hotspot?

I use an iPhone 6 + and was upgraded to ios10, two days ago.

While I don't have a configuration of the VPN connection on the phone, I connect my computer laptop personal hotspot of the iPhone to use internet and sometimes connect to a VPN.

Before my upgrade to ios10, my laptop could still connect to the VPN while connected to the hotspot from my iPhone.

After that I updated to ios10, my laptop does not connect to the VPN I connect to.

I see reports that Apple has abandoned the use of the connection for PPTP VPN connections on ios10.

But most of the people having problems seem to be people who connect to their phones directly to the VPN in the iPhone settings.

In my case, my phone is just acting under the guidance of the internet on my laptop but it seems that it does not obstruct my laptop to connect to a pptp even connection if that should have no impact on the phone itself.

I went down to ios9 and my laptop can connect again to the VPN.

But now my Apple Watch does not work with my phone because I improved the watch to os3.

Any ideas if there is a work around for the connection for pptp connections using the hotspon on ios10?

Apple mentions alternative - Prepare for the removal of PPTP VPN before you upgraded to iOS 10 and macOS Sierra - Apple Support

  • Problem with Port Forwarding (When PPTP is upward) in the WRT-160N

    Hello world!

I'm looking for more help with Port Forwarding in my new Linksys router. I bought the daysago afew router and was pretty surprised when I discovered that there is no DD - WRT firmware is installed in it (the router was 100% NEW when I bought it). I downloaded latest firmware original and flashed Linksys file successfully.

But I still have the problem (even that I was on DD - WRT firmware too) with the port forwarding for my DC ++ and Vuze (app from torrents): I wrote port forward for ports 49151 (for Vuze) and 4000 (for DC ++) to pass on to my desktop computer (IP 192.168.1.201) - I saw a post on this forum, that there could be a problem If you transfer to an IP address, which is within the local area of DHCP, so I forwarded to IP.201 (my local DHCPzone is 192.168.1.100-. 149) But does not forwardind (())

    What's wrong?

    My configuration:

    Router IP: 192.168.1.1

    PPTP (I my ISP)

    IP address: 192.168.226.127

    Default gateway: 192.168.226.2

    DNS 1: 192.168.1.1

    2 & 3 DNS: 0.0.0.0

The IP address of the PPTP server: 192.168.226.2

    User name: *.

    Password: *.

    _____________________

    Simple Port Forwarding:

Name of the external port application port internal protocol for IP address Enabled

    DC 4000 4000 checked two 192.168.1.201

As you mentioned in your post that your ISP has provided you with a PPTP connection with an IP address: 192.x.x.x. The IP address that is provided by your ISP is in a private beach, and if you try to transfer all the ports on your router, it will not work, as long as your ISP modem is blocking this port. If you need get a public IP address from your ISP.

As you get Private IP of your ISP, if this connection is called as NAT behind NAT and your Modem behaves like a router.

So now you have 2 options, get the public IP address from your ISP or change the type of connection.

  • How to allow VPN PPTP by ASA access

    Hi guys,.

I allow VPN clients to internal PPTP server located behind a firewall of ASA and running on a Windows 2 K 8 Server machine.

I found that the Setup is different on the version of the ASA. I'm under ASA Version 8.2 (5).

There are many rules in place and keep the. I found a lot of guides is bad because they push the drive to remove the existing rules rather than add new.

Can you please let me know how? (If possible via ADSM) and if I have to wait the questions when I decide to upgrade my ASA?

    Thank you

    Dario

You must configure static NAT translation because I believe that the PPTP traffic is incoming from the Internet.

You must allow PPTP traffic on the external interface: TCP/1723

You must enable PPTP inspection: inspect pptp

  • Roadwarrior VPN PPTP] - domestic distribution

Hello, I have configured a Cisco 1841 a small hub VPN using PPTP and authenticate users in Active Directory using RADIUS.

Everything was simple and works very well except one thing, distributing routes for internal networks.

When the VPN rises in the clients, it is set by default wrong all the traffic in the tunnel, only traffic to the internal network, but also general traffic for the Internet. Is not what is desired so I configured the vpn connection (in windows clients) to ignore the gateway by default inside the tunnel, but when I do that it just does not define any itinerary for a internal networks, making them inaccessible.

I know that I can then add routes manually... but this isn't something I want all users to do whenever they connect.

My question is: in Windows Active Directory I set up for my user on the Dial In tab option, to define static routes for that user and added a few routes for my internal networks. Why they are not distributed to clients? They should be distributed? I a bit confused with this because in the Cisco I only configure the server radius for authentication, I find it strange that the same server will be used to distribute more information on customers... as the routing information.

Anyone have a similar to this vpn cenario Nomad? How do solve you?

PS: Linux, that I solved it because the VPN client allows me to choose which roads I want to add in this connection automatically, not perfect, but it is a solution. However, under windows, I have no option, and if possible I prefer not to install third-party applications to solve this problem.

    Thank you

The PIX cannot re - route traffic to the Internet because it's a feature supported on version 7.x and higher. You cannot execute code on PIX501 7.x.

You can send all traffic through the tunnel (for the PIX) and have the PIX route this traffic to a router internal (on the head), then rewritten the PIX to the Internet.

  • VPN PPTP settings

I installed a PPTP VPN connection to my Cisco router, and it works, but not completely. Is it possible that when someone connects they can interrogate our internal DNS server for address resolution? Also when they connect, they can no longer browse the Internet, since the a route statement directs all in the VPN. Is it possible to set up split tunneling?

    Thank you.

For DNS resolution, use the following commands in the virtual-template int (or whatever int you use):

    PPP ipcp dns x.x.x.x y.y.y.y

    PPP ipcp wins a.a.a.a b.b.b.b

As you can see, this is going to happen on the DNS and WINS servers to the client, obviously x.x.x.x will be your internal DNS server. You can add y.y.y.y if you have a DNS backup, otherwise do not.

Regarding the split of tunnelling, there is no concept of split tunneling in the PPP protocol, it's basically all or nothing. You can add a static route to the internal network, pointing to the negotiated IP address, but there is no way of knowing the IP address until the tunnel is built, it is not too easy to use.

    See http://www.cisco.com/warp/customer/707/pptp.shtml#add5 for more details.

    Hello avilt,

VCA means Cluster Virtual Agent. This is used mainly when the VPN 3000 pair is configured for load balancing,... when doing so cells communicate with each other on VCA and we must normally allow this on the filters...

My question is, u have allowed this filter on the public interface? you see the ports via the VPN concentrator or you make a sweep WILL and see these ports (such as FTP) to be opened on the VPN concentrator?
