port USB S430

I just had my s430 served, during which the motherboard has been replaced. It turns out that wasn't the question, but what I've found, is that one of my (left) USB 3.0 ports is now only in funcitoning as a USB 2.0 port! Very frustrating given that laptop has only two!

One can give me ideas to know if that was the case with of some s430 (possibly later revisions to save money), or give me some ideas how to diagnose and/or fix this?

See you soon

Matt

I try to uninstall the extendable USB 3.0 host controller, and then try to reinstall the driver to see if that solves the problems.

It's been a while since I played with mine S430, but I remember the side left USB 3.0 and card reader is on a daughter card that connects to the main motherboard. Sometimes if there is a problem on the usb port or a connection to the motherboard, usb 3.0 can be recognized as a usb 2.0 port.

  • Multi-port USB adapter for the MacBook USB - C Port?

    Hello

I'm in pain, trying to find a USB adapter multi-port for my MacBook 2016, which only has a single port USB - C which is also like a power port.

I already done is connect the WD My Passport drive external HARD to the MacBook via an adapter HooToo, that to see any HARD drive mounted in OS X.

OS X makes a sound when it is connected, but apparently the adapter provides insufficient power for the HARD drive needs to be loaded.

I got Belkin USB multi-port here:

    http://www.Apple.com/us/search/USB-ports?SEL=accessories & src = SERP

But it is not certain if one of them provides enough power, so I would try rather than a person has used successfully with a MacBook and an external HARD drive,

If not, opt for a multi-port adapter USB brand Apple.

Please let me know about your experience or an Apple adapter.

    Thanks in advance

My Apple 3 port works as advertised. The USB port has a perfect compatibility with the old and readers USB 3, my adapter Ethernet USB Apple and Trendnet USB adapter that I use in series. This includes the perfect function with a 10 VM Windows via VMware Fusion.

A non - Apple C to an adapter that I bought works fine too. I don't see the brand on this subject but he chose via Amazon ratings. There were some with higher ratings, so that's how I made the choice.

  • need a HDMI cable to connect to the macbook pro via port USB - C

Could someone please indicate what cable or adapter I need to run my MacBook Pro to a TV movies? It connects on the port of lightning or another? Thank you Jude.

No MacBook Pro has lightning ports or ports USB - C.  Most have ports Thunderbolt, and some have even regular HDMI ports.

The adapter you need to depend on the exact model of MacBook Pro you have.

Until we can tell you what cable or adapter you need, you must tell us what model of MacBook Pro you have.

  • HP Pavilion: Before port USB on HP desktop computer has stopped working

My HP desktop computer is about 2 years old and has two USB ports on the front and a number on the back. I had no problem with any of the ports until I used a USB in the port now broken and caused a power outage that now this port doesn't recognize any USB device.  It says "USB device not recognized.  The last USB device you connected to this computer worked badly and Windows does not recognize. »

I tried to uninstall and reinstall the USB ports on the Device Manager and have lived all the suggestions on the HP support site and the Microsoft support site. The defective USB key must have caused damage to the track. I hope you can suggest something that I can do to get it working again.

    Hello

The only port on the front is damaged. The USB key must have damaged only this USB port. I'd like to reuse this memory bar.

You need to replace the USB module, two ports USB 3.0 of housing as the two front ports use the same module and connections to the motherboard.

You will probably need to go to HP for the part.

You should be able to get access to the component by removing the front bezel. Remove the side panel also. You should see the connection of the cable and add him the USB 3.0 connector front on the motherboard.

    Hello

At first, I must say that Toshiba service doesn t sell these small parts such as USB ports. USB ports are soldered to the motherboard.
Where to get the new USB ports? Good question.

I don t know where you MFL, but perhaps you should I use Google in your country and check if you can find some independent repairer for laptop and ask for help.
I fear it won't be so easy to find new ports of m.

What you can try is to buy defective mainboard in the hope of USB ports are OK and are trying to replace them.

  • Where are the Ports USB 3.0 of my HP Pavilion dv6-6158nr Notebook?

I am unable to find the Ports of USB 3.0 on my HP Pavilion dv6-6158nr laptop.

Please tell which side are these ports and how to get the maximum speed out of them?

    Hi Hanazir,

    You'll love this.

Get a bright light and shine on the left side of the laptop.

Now, get a magnifying glass and look carefully next to the USB ports.

3.0 ports are marked with the logo 'SuperSpeed '. "SS".

Similar to this, but very, very small!

To get the maximum speed, use only with devices usb 3.0 - external hard drives, USB sticks, etc done to run with this technology.

There is no harm in using the USB3 ports with usb devices 2.  In most cases, USB 2 devices work as expected when connected to a USB 3 port.  There are rare cases where the USB 2 device may not work when it is attached to a port USB 3.  Before you accuse the laptop / desktop or even the port and if your laptop don't not have a USB 2 port, then consider to plug a USB 3 hub that supports one or more USB 2 ports and try that.  A few specialized 2 USB devices require USB 2 connection - deal with it.

    Dragon tips

USB 3 external drives: offset connection, more or less depending on your hub, your hardware and your player can add up to an unacceptable delay when you use a USB 3 hub in conjunction with port USB 3.  Huh?  Unless absolutely necessary, do not use a USB hub 3 with an external drive USB 3 - connect the USB 3 drive directly to your 3 USB port on the computer.

Other usb devices 3 work well on the SIIG 7port USB 3.0 / 2.0 Hub - this is a very nice quality, IMO and is supported by its own power supply.  Nice.

  • Ports USB 3.0 on Satellite L755-1LM

    Hello

I have a 2 years Satellite L755-1LM. The leaflet said that he might have a USB 3.0 port, which was an option on some models.

Is there an easy way to know if my model for this? I learned that USB 3.0 ports have a blue insert rather than black, but I don't know if this is true in all cases (mine is black). I am attaching a standard HDD USB 3.0 on the left USB port, which could be 3.0, but the transfer rate is poor. Therefore, it is either 2.0 only or I'm missing drivers etc.

    Any thoughts?

    Hello

According to specification of your machine specifications has ports USB 2.0 only. The difference is that only one port on the left side support option sleep and fresh.

    Hi, new to the forum.

I have a HP Slimline 450 - A24 and would like to know if it is possible to install a port 4 USB 3.0 PCIe expansion card?  All I could find is that the expansion port was used. Is it possible to add even 4 port USB 3.0 PCIe expansion card?

    Thanks fror your help

    Hi @gulwing1,

That the Forums are with you! It's a good place to find the help you need, other users, the HP experts and other members of the support staff. I understand that you are looking for more information on your system and whether it is possible to put a 4-port USB 3.0 PCIe card. I'm happy to give you a helping hand with this.

Looking at the HP Slimline 450 - a24 Desktop PC product specificationsand HP and Compaq Desktop PCs - specifications (P-nutmeg nuts) of the motherboard, System Board lists no matter what expansion slot at all.  With this in mind, you cannot use a PCIe card in this system.

    Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you are in a really difficult situation that's going to be almost impossible to fix.

First, there are the ways, if you have the Windows installation media, to repair missing system files - but you probably don't have that, and even if you did, your optical drive would have to work in order to be able to read the media.

Second, you may want to restore your PC to its original state using HP recovery media, but there are two problems with this: (1) HP stores not more to your PC and your optical drive would need to work in order to use it (2) is a set of a DVD and a CD.

To restore your PC to the operating status, you'll need to be able to start using Windows disc media.  One way that COULD work is if you use an external DVD/CD drive plugged into a port USB - but for this to work, your PC must be bootable (1) and (2) be able to boot from USB.  IF these two are not true, then you can not restore it - the way it is.

Here are a few troubleshooting steps when your PC won't start - you can try them and see if everything works: computer won't start (Windows 7, Vista, XP) | HP® customer support

Maybe something in this package of measures will work.

    Good luck

  • How ports usb 2.0 & 3.0 on the 610-1280qd?

    Hello

Of its features, the machine (CTO) can have:

Must select one of the following options:

    • 6-in-1 card reader multimedia + 2 USB 2.0 + 2 USB 3.0 (with TV tuner on the rear i/o Panel
    • 6-in-1 card reader multimedia + 4 USB 2.0 ports, audio Beats (with TV tuner on the rear panel I/O)

    Goodrock, welcome to the forum.

Because the computer is almost 7 years old, I don't think that HP will have parts.  In my opinion, your best option is to buy an external card reader and card internal with USB ports.  Headphone and microphone sockets will be difficult to replace, or not at all.

These ports are detached from the motherboard (IPIS8-CH2).  The pilot is reported as < tihub3.sys=""> . HP support has not been able to find me that the right chip drivers, which gives me sp4787.exe.

    Hello

When you plug the USB 3.0 on a USB 2.0 device, you should see the following message is displayed:

Now if you do not see this message then the USB 2.0 controller is probably not setup in device management to provide notification.

You can also download PC Wizard (it's a gift) and it will give you more information about your USB 3.0 controller.

So, how do you know if your USB 3.0 really works your expectations?

Download HD Tune and the reference device when it is plugged into a USB 2.0 port and a USB 3.0 port. There should be a difference. You may or may not like the difference.

I compared my USB 3.0 flash drive and it is 60% faster on the USB 3.0 port.
