portable 9 months, ID 1 Hp touchsmart 15-n204ed hard drive failure

Hello

Small question.

My girlfriend gave me her laptop. It is not unbootable Windows. After checking and running a quick test, I got failure ID 94wh51-709783-mfpwxa-60xv03 hardrive 1.

I have no experience with HP laptops or products, until this means?

Is this sufficient to conclude that the hardrive is broken and 100 hardware warranty?

I can open the laptop and get the hardrive and once again to test, maybe I can run startup programs (if any). But if anyone can tell me that it is for sure a notification that the hard drive is broken and needs to be replaced, I seek no more. If the warranty covers this component error / broken, I think that it is not wise to open up the laptop.

Also, I would like to know how it can happen to a laptop 9 months old, not often used? I mean, if this can be the result of a virus, and if yes, or if it's something like that, is still warranty covering this.

The laptop just icing. She didn't have anything on the laptop for several minutes. She had to stop and since it didn't work anymore.

Yes, it is of course a failure.
Run the vast hard drive & tests memory BIOS startup tests - F10 or ESC key power, to confirm

Contact HP with the 24 character code, you will get your free replaced HARD drive since you are covered by the warranty:

If you do not have recovery media out-of-box after getting the new laptop, order them too - they are also free.

Viruses when files affect system causing corruption of them, later on this corrupt files can in turn create bad sectors on the HARD disk.
Hard drive can fail at any time, it's partly luck factor, then other factors such as the physical manipulation of the laptop, heat, etc.

My hardly used HP Pavilion Touchsmart is extremely slow and even a simple operation like 'save' used to take hours. I did a check of HDD on login and this resulted in the following result:

    Thank you.

Step 01. Remove the battery and unplug the power adapter AC.

  • Envy TouchSmart 17-j057cl: hard drive error

Received a message at startup which said "smart hard drive control has detected an iminent... failure. "What could be wrong and how to fix it.  The machine is only 8 months old.

    Hello

The Smart error would indicate that hard is defective and must be replaced.

    Shut down the laptop.

Tap away at the esc you key start Notepad to open the Start Menu.  Select the Menu of diagnosis ( f2 ) and run the tests on the hard - this should produce an error code of 24 characters.

As your laptop is still under warranty, contact HP (24 character code) and make arrangements for the disk replaced - if necessary, you can check the status of your warranty here.

If you live in the United States, contact HP here.

It seems that the hard drive has failed and needs to be replaced. If you are still in warranty HP will send a replacement. If this is not the case, a laptop SATA hard detail can be used. Just be sure to get a quality at least equal the original in order to use recovery disks. It may be big, but not small ability more. For example if you have a 500 GB hard drive you can use a 750 GB hard drive, but not a 320 GB hard drive.

    Hello

I recently got a laptop that was having a windows scan and repair the problem. He was stuck in this issue on a loop. When I told him to work around this problem and spend it bluescreened instead. That's why I used the f2 key to look more far. When there, I did stable base and all seemed well. I decided to do a quick test system just to check that everything was ok. As soon as I got this problem with the id after failure. MBQGWK-6SD7B2-MFPWXF - 60A 203. Any insite on this matter would be great.

    Hello:

If you are not under warranty, you can buy a new laptop of retail disk of at least the same power that came with your laptop and replace it yourself, and then use recovery media (you have to buy them nonetheless) to reinstall everything back to factory settings.

There are circumstances as date of warranty may not be quite correct in database HP, so you can check that with the HP in your region-contact them. In addition, you can contact the dealers also to confirm.

  • (Redirected) Two hard drive failures in a week and refuses to Dell in computer replacement - only months

I bought a 8900 XPS for Christmas - I work from home and learn online - computer engineering and not less than databases.

So I now have a $850 boat anchor on my hands.  Hard drive died a week ago - tech sent on the Dell site to replace.  Guy took 5 minutes, says that you'll be fine. Thing is dead in about 10 minutes, saying "Windows cannot complete the installation."   Rinse and repeat - second hard drive installed today - Guy took 5 minutes, said "You'll be fine."  Thing's dead after 5-10 minutes.  "Windows cannot complete the installation."

The first failure, supervisor of Dell in India (surprise, surprise), said that they would replace my computer - well I guess that Dell allows supervisors to lie about their teeth.   After FOUR HOURS on THE PHONE after the second failed drive with Dell (guess where people?) the person tech finally threw their hands - they couldn't understand what was going on.

I am now told to JUST PUT IT IN A BOX and send it to the address that I'm supposed to receive in an email.  They fix it AND SEND IT BACK to me.  This company and their tech support is an absolute joke.

I Will NEVER EVER EVER buy another Dell.  Period.

  • HP TouchSmart 420 - 1000 t CTO: need help with the installation of windows on a new hard drive for HP TouchSmart 420-1000 t CTO (bought in 2012)

My hard drive is failng in my computer I get the message that "the failure of hard drive" is imminent for several months now.  I did just recovery disks after I bought my computer and that you have ordered a new hard drive.

I thought that the part of the setup of windows on a portion of the current hard disk that I need to replace.

I want to just make sure that if I can restore the windows completely and that all programmes provided with the computer are on the recovery discs I want to do it myself - so I need to know I'm doing it correctly!

    Thank you very much.

    Kimberly

PS I found this web page below and I want to just make sure that it applies to me:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/product/HP-TouchSmart-420-1000-desktop-PC-series/5146292/model/5155758/d...

This link in the post seems to apply to the situation.  If you have already completed the defined recovery disc then it should just be a matter of running the recovery disc after the new hard drive is installed.  The recovery disk set will be "restoring windows completely and all programs included with the computer".  Be aware that all other items that were installed or personal data will not be restored.  When replacing the hard drive, do not buy a disc exceeds the limit of 2 TB, such as published in the SPECS for TouchSmart 420-1000 t CTO.

My portable HDD crashed within 6 months of purchase of the notebook (Pavalion g6 - C9L68PA #ACJ).

    HP it replaced without OS...

Is it just on the side of HP to provide a disk without OS (originally, windows 8 has been installed)?

If we say customer should have the recovery disk, the amount of the fine, but in this case failure was not the operating system

It was completely Hard ware issue and I think that HP must provide the complete solution of the problem.

HP must also provide a CD/DVD of windows while selling your notebook if HP is so sure of bad quality of the material...

I was fighting with the same problem with my g6 2202tx

My HARD drive has been replaced, but 8 victory was gone.

So, I called the call - center and asked the DVD... it took 5 days arrive, through credit card, for the DVD

  • Hard drives can be swapped between two windows 8 portable

I bought a Toshiba Satellite 15.6 laptop "with 8 GB of memory and a HARD drive of 1 to 3 months ago. I just bought a second laptop for my wife, this time following a 11.6 "ASUS with 4 GB RAM and 500 GB HARD drive.

Given that the ASUS is much smaller and portable and I travel a lot, I would like to take on the Toshiba HARD drive and insert into the ASUS and replace it with the 500 GB drive HARD to the ASUS. My wife would be perfectly happy with the largest and Toshiba. These are the two machines of Windows 8. Of course I will do a memory swap as well, but I already know how to do this and I don't know for sure it will work... so no question here.

    Other things that worry me:

-The Toshiba is NOT a touch screen laptop computer

    -l'ASIS is a laptop touchscreen

    (1) swap will work?

    (2) say it works, the touchscreen on the ASUS functionality will continue to work with the Toshiba HDD inside?

Does anyone have suggestions/tips/advice for me to complete this task.

Thank you very much in advance...

    Conrad

    Short answer to your Q

    (1) NO.

    (2) not relevant due to (1)

Unless you plan on downloading a lot of video or games 500 GB is big enough

8 GB of ram require 64-bit win, while the 4g needs than 32-bit win

If you install more ram on a 32-bit win, anything beyond 4 GB cannot be used

  • Iomega Portable hard drive now does not appear under "Devices" after accidentally deleted USB cable. USB

My Iomega eGo Portable hard drive was connected by USB on my Macbook Pro OSX 10.9.5 cable and I was transferring my iPhoto folder.  Unfortunately, the cable dropped and I got a message on my laptop hard drive had not ejected correctly.   I reconnected it the cable, but now, it does not appear under devices in the search page.  I also checked the disc utilities and it isn't here either.  I tried to connect the hard drive of my iMac, but it does not appear in the devices out there either.

Although I have been using a Mac since they first appeared on the market and can usually work things, I find it more and more difficult with all the new technology.  Everything that used to be so easy, one of the great things the Mac since MS-DOS.

If anyone can help I would be very grateful, because I have a lot of files on this disc of old Mac and use the Iomega to backup my most important files.

    The drive may have failed.

    Try different USB cables.

Remove the naked drive from the iOmega enclosure and test it in a known functional wardrobe.
