Portege 2010 does not start-> white screen

Hello

I need help because my 2010 does not start. When I press the power button, the power light turns on but I get nothing on the screen.

He worked when my brother used it until the mouse has frozen and then turns off. He then lit it back in which case only the power led came up with nothing on the screen.

The hard drive was clicking while it worked so I don't have a gut feeling that hard must the disc are dead and causing the cell not to return as when I power it on I get no hard drive light shape or sound the HDD at all.

Even I get nothing on the screen. Not even the Red sign boot Toshiba. So, it's worry in me as well.

Thank you, Claude

Hello

I put t think it is a HARD drive problem.
If the HARD drive is dead, you will receive a message on the screen saying that the laptop is not able to find a boot device.

If the Toshiba start screen does not appear I think that it s something wrong with the motherboard. I guess that the graphics card is dead. But to be 100% sure, verification is required.
In my opinion, you should ask a partner or a technician for assistance.

    Hello

Remove the battery, disconnect the power adapter and leave the laptop disconnected for a longer period of time. After that connect the two parties can try unit lights up once more

If it does not, check the RAM. Remove the single module and test two slots with each module.
Sure, it might be possible that the two modules are faulty and that the procedure could not help you.

In the worst case the motherboard may be affected in one such case that mobo replacement would be useful.

  • HP Pavilion a6500f does not start, white screen

I work on a computer from a friend and I am a little confused. The computer is an HP Pavillion a6500f with a card mother Foxcon and Phoenix BIOS. When you press the power button, fans turn on, all the start commands and keyboard blinks, just like usual. The screen does nothing, however. No beeps.

The problem started when my friend had some piece of hardware for internet phone and tried to connect it to his computer, the hardware connection to the router first, and then to the ethernet port. I don't know what the material is, honestly. My friend is Korean, and he got it from the Korea. All the details on the label are in Korean, and I have no idea what it says.

Once it is plugged in the material for the first time, the computer froze. Over the next few days, he has frozen several times and gave him a few BSOD. After a few days, the screen just would not show anything more. He brought in Best Buy, and they told him it's dust on the motherboard that caused its failure, saying he needed a new. I think they were just trying to sell him a new computer, because it would be an amazing coincidence that the motherboard has failed because of dust when it is plugged in the new material, and in addition, he worked for a few days later. Any suggestion would be appreciated. Thanks for the help.

Check the monitor on another PC.  Otherwise, it seems to be a motherboard problem. UGLY.  Best of cases it's power source.

  • Portege R100 does not start

Can someone help me please. My Portege R100 does not start, when I turn the following text appears: in touch with tomorrow toshiba. After a few seconds a black screen with a blinking cursor on the left side of the screen.

    Thank you very much

    Hi Rehana,

The Toshiba screen you will see first is the initial start screen is displayed while loading the BIOS. Once the BIOS has completed its process of loading, the system tries to boot the operating system and it is at this point that you have found the black screen with the blinking cursor in the upper left.

Unfortunately, this indicates usually that the laptop can not load the operating system from the hard drive, or because the hard disk itself has not the contents have been damaged somehow.

You might try to charge your laptop in 'safe' mode (press F8 during the initial loading of the BIOS) or you can try to boot your laptop from a bootable CD/DVD and hard drive.

Finally, you can try to re - install your OS from the recovery CD.

  • Portege R100 - does not start from CD player

I have Toshiba Portege R100. I want to format and start all over again

I use killdisk, excellent utility program, normally takes place the disc cd but the machine does not start from cd player, even when it is said in the bios, it says 'error of cable' & drive still works fine when the system is installed & running

I want to remove unbuntu & just xp, thought that I would start plus-plus easy or simply to remove unbuntu?
If remove unbuntu, how can I do this?

    Best regards, TIM

    Hey Buddy,

If you want to have XP only, try to boot from a XP disc. You can format the drive HARD whole with XP disc that even Ubuntu is installed. I put t understand why you use another program to format the HARD drive

Then boot from a XP disc and follow the instructions on the screen. If it doesn't work, it seems to be the material of your player to malfunction.

  • Pavilion HPE H8-1121: Pavilion HPE H8-1121 - new graphics card + power supply does not start after screen HP (Revisited)

I have the same problem as this post 2013!  Ouch. Pavilion HPE H8-1121 - new map chart + power supply, does not start after HP screen.

I installed a new power supply (Seasonic 620W), which works well.  I also installed a GTX 660Ti last year and it was works fine as well.  I recently bought a ZOTAC GTX 970 and attempted to install it, but it will not go beyond the blue HP screen and I get the same code of beeps (1 long, 3 short), who, seems, suggests that the video is not initialized.

    My BIOS date is 2011.

Where can I find an update for this?

I'm also using Windows 10, which I found on the HP site is not tested on my model and would probably not favourable to good use.  Should I do back up to 7 or 8?  and then update the BIOS?  Y at - it a update for my BIOS and where can I find.

In any case, I hope that this is a solution.  Again, this is not a bad machine to be 5 years old.

    Thanks for any help!

If the video card that you have purchased dose not a legacy vBIOS it will never start. An update of the BIOS doesn't solve that.

It is likely that your new video card has a vBIOS UEFI and that only is for the PC motherboards newer than yours which have a UEFI BIOS. Your motherboard has a legacy BIOS. 2012 is the year of model when the UEFI BIOS more or less became the de facto on motherboards standard.

I return it for a refund. Find the candidate of video cards that support the old BIOS. It can be inherited only or switchable vBIOS (legacy or UEFI) vBIOS.  I suggest looking at the site of Sapphire Technology. ZoTac is not known to provide enough information about their video cards in the way. You upgrade a pre-built desktop PC and it's different and a little more difficult to set up a DIY PC. I looked at the site of Zotac and see that nothing is said about their video vBIOS cards.  I would return to the map.  Carefully read the specifications of the video card. A candidate for your motherboard card must have inherited vBIOS support or simply, it won't work.

ZOTAC (they don't say anything about their product vBIOS)

Because you look at game with 4 GB cards. Take a look at the following map. It has a double vBIOS. legacy and UEFI. http://www.sapphiretech.com/productdetial.asp?pid=640A98CD-0CF0-4191-B75C-CA2800111ADB&lang=eng

  • M17x R1 does not start - black screen - fan turns, turns on the keyboard, nothing on the screen.

    Hi all

    Newbie here and desperate.

I have a problem with M17x my son this morning. Everything worked very well and after some time, turned off the machine it self.  Now it does not start even - at least I think, it won't because there is nothing on the screen as it is empty.

I've tried several things, including trying to move on and outside, with or without a battery of the power cord.

I'm at a loss as to what could have happened.

    Help, please.

    Smakwam.

The gpu of cooking is very easy in fact, that you have designated your oven to about 275 degrees cover a cookie sheet with paper and configure the map out of it by winding 4 balls of aluminum foil and their definition on each corner of the map. you never want to have it put all directly on the sheet. do Cook for about 10 minutes then cool before coming back into the laptop. Always be sure to remove all of the components and the radiator and any residue of thermal paste. After sick cooking you need to reapply a fresh thermal paste. I use artic silver 5. It is has more detailed instructions on this online, as well as photos. You want to make sure it's your video card before you do it just to be sure. I just had to do it again last week, works like a charm for me every time.

  • Product is complete recovery - Toshiba Portege M300 does not start

    Hello.

I have a Portege M300 Toshiba I got again in 2006. It has progressively slower over the years, so yesterday, I thought I would use the product recovery CD to reinstall the factory settings.

Put the CD in restarted with F12, selected CD player, follow the instructions on the screen, he went through unpacking process... but once completed and handed over to market get you the Toshiba welcome screen then it seems that it will start, but it blocks just with a white screen... nothing not even a cursor flashing.

The hard disk does not even appear to be spinning?
I tried this process now 6 times and I'm starting to pull my hair!

    Anyone got any ideas?

    > The hard disk does not appear still to be spinning?
Well, it looks like a disc is defective.
The blinking cursor is a typical sign of a malfunction of the HARD drive.
I think that you need to replace the HARD drive and should reinstall the OS once more

    Good luck

  • Display Latitude E6510 does not. White screen with lines

I was working on my Dell Latitude E6510 normally and after I finished I stopped him. I go to the city for about 2 hours and when I got home, I press the power button / stop and suddenly the screen is white with a few scratches on the side. Tried to feed him several times, nothing. Reconnect AC, battery, RAM, HARD drive, peripherals, still nothing.

Output DisplayPort works without any problem.

Output VGA works without any problem.

You can see the pictures and the link to the video on YouTube of this problem.

Any help or advice? Would be very grateful. Thank you.

YouTube - Dell Latitude E6510 screen does not, lines, stripes, white

I hope this helps. I have a Latitude E5410 I bought knowing that the LCD screen has a white screen or white veil or a matter of contrast high. I checked that the entire screen removable Panel or it deforming slightly likely to prevent the white veil to disappear, leaving me with a normal display. But I had to "hold my mouth just as it should be" OR I could lose visibility and I Whiteout reappear. I did troubleshooting from the LCD cable connection to the motherboard. I removed the cover of the LED/hinge and screws of the keyboard. I started the computer and put in the Setup (BIOS). After that I got the content of the screen, I removed the keyboard and waved the LCD cable connector. It was nice sitting. I replaced the keyboard and remove the bezel before display. I waved the display cable DC7TY to the small LED Council, but that did nothing. I turned off the computer.

I unscrewed the 6 screws holding brackets LCD panel and hinge for the lid of the display, exposing the back of the display panel itself. On the right side, low on the Panel, I peeled back the glue 1/4 x 3/8 on the clear plastic covering the printed circuit board, exposing the flex cable going to the backlight. I spilled Brown lever that keeps the flex cable plugged into the connector on the plug, removed the cable, he moved several times to repeat, then hit the lever to keep it. With the LCD in this way exposed, I started the computer and entered in the Setup program. SUCCESS!  No amount of stirring or warping brought Whiteout. I've buttoned to the computer and came here for successful results.

Your Dell may be different, but you can report if your symptoms or the results are different, and HOW EXACTLY became you a success. See you soon!

  • Satellite M60-170 does not start - black screen

I have toshiba M60-170, before it was perfect, but now I don't know what is happening?
When I try to start my computer just for 2 sec, everything is good, then the fan of sounds of the CPU and the screen is black and the stop of HARD drive.
    So everything is stop!
I try to start again but still does not.

Some body told me that it is the motherboard!
Please, someone tell me what is happens with my beautiful laptop?

    Thank you

It does not sound good friend :(

But let's try this; Remove the battery and unplug the power adapter for about 20 min.
After this short period of time connect the two parts, and try to start Notepad.

If it doesn t help the chances are that your hardware is defective. Like other guys said, it could be a fault of the motherboard or something different like CPU, memory modules.
    I can speculate on failure.

I think that you don't have many choices. In your case, you should contact the ASP in your country for a control of the laptop.

    Good bye

  • Portege M100 does not start - power light flashes orange

    Hi all

    I have a Portege M100.
Since ysterday, the computer does not boot. When I push the power button, I hear the noise of the fan starts working, but nothing else happens. The power light continues to blink in orange.
I removed the battery and tried to turn on the computer with the AC adapter is plugged in, but nothing changes.

Any ideas on what could be the problem? I would appreciate help,
    Thanks in advance

    Yalin

    Hi mate,

could possibly be the RAM, so please check the RAM modules and remove 1 module if you have 2 of them installed.
Otherwise, I check if some another module of RAM is available and install the module of well known work. If this is not sufficient then I strongly recommend you to bring your machine to a service partner chartered for a balance of health/repair of equipment.

Please give some information about your situation...

P.S.: you can try to remove the battery and AC and leave the machine without power for about 24 hours. Maybe it helps?

    Welcome them

    Hello

I have a problem on my PC (by Satellite C855D-124) specifically was playing a game, and stopped from nowhere I could not do any command then off button.

But as I returned the call and turned the lights appeared as the charge appears as a small light and also appears on your but then nothing appeared on the monitor, no warning or error message...

Then it connects but does not seem to do anything and I would like to know if you can help with advice on what happened and what I do or what I can do...

Sorry for the mistakes but I do on google translator...

    Hello Adrian

For me it is not easy to understand your problem, but what you can do right now is to restart your laptop and check if the basic operations are working properly. Try restarting several times to see what will happen.

Start the laptop computer can see you Toshiba welcome screen?
Is there a usual activity of HARD disk at startup?

  • Satellite L850D does not start - black screen

Ok.. My wife L850D had problems with black screening started upward after the toshiba screen.

I ran a few different utilities, including a reset... it all started about 3 weeks after the victory 8.1 upgrade.

Rang technical support who kindly informed that because we put 8.1 on that he cancelled the guarantee. (btw nice guy)
    Then refused to help.

And went and reloaded Win 8 of my happens, just to see if it was a problem of hardware, software.
(yes I know, but it must have been only temp).

It starts fine, sitting there for centuries without problem.
It wasn't until I downloaded the drivers toshiba, (Yes the good) did a reboot and hey presto. black screen again.

A little, this would imply that there is a problem with the drivers of toshiba?

OK so the wife decided screw it, put Win 7 on it.
Restarted with disk in. sat and sat. Google finally informed me that I had to disable secureboot and put uefi in the csm.

OK fine, went into the bios, off course start, changed to the csm uefi and restart the computer.
Now I get nothing; screen all turns on, fan starts, cd rom shots on and nothing stops down immediately if I push the power button.

I pulled the battery, external and internal, let rest for half an hour and still the same thing.

    Any ideas?

The history is for me a little confused so let me start from the beginning with some basic stuff.
In your ad write you didn t what model do you have exactly (L850D-xxx) and I can't check the specs of the laptop but I presume that this laptop comes with preinstalled OS, probably Win8.
Laptop with factory preinstalled OS that includes all the necessary drivers and tools and utilities. One of them is Toshiba Recovery Media Creator. With this tool, you can create a recovery (DVD or USB) media and it lets reinstall the original OS if it s some problem and HDD recovery does not work.
Best option now would be to use these media and install original recovery image. Did you create this recovery media?

Generally speaking when you new notebook you do not have to use the original OS. You can install anything you want, and it has nothing to do with security. You can install any OS, all supported operating systems. So I do not understand how you could get info from technical support.

In any case, try please connect your laptop to the power supply and restart laptop. What exactly happens? See Toshiba welcome screen? Try pressing F12 repeatedly. There any reaction?
