Portege M200 - device unknown in Device Manager

I did a clean install of Windows XP on my toshiba portege m200 (Tablet). I have most of the devices drivers installed, but there is one that I can't understand. The device manager says I have an "unknown device" on my "Intel 82801 dbm lpc interface controller.

What is it? I thought it was the chip set, but I had installed the Intel chipset drivers (twice, just to make sure that I really did), but it still reads as 'unknown device' on ' Intel (r) 82801DBM LPC Interface Controller - 24CC.

To resolve this issue go to the device, right click on the unknown device, Manager and then select set to update driver.
When the Hardware Update Wizard appears, select the advanced option.
From the next window, select the 'don't search. I will choose the driver' option
Now, go to the Intel announcement and select good "82801DBM LPC Interface Controller - 24CC.
Click OK and now it should work.

Also, be sure you have all the drivers installed from Toshiba Web site:

  • Portege M700: Device Manager reveals five peripheral generic HID-Compliant

We have a M700 Tablet, which came with Vista, but came back to XP using supplied reinstall drive.

The machine works fine for most, but sometimes suffers from a deadlock, which seems to be related to the touch screen.

In device manager reveals five generic "HID-Compliant device" that appear to be duplicates for the other five entries in this section - the other entries seem to be the correct devices because they have specific names - Toshiba tablet buttons type "N" 'USB Human interface device', 'Virtual Driver Touch' "Virtual touch interface" and "Wacom Penabled dual touch"-if each device properties are inspected the settings under 'Driver', 'Détails' and 'Resources' are identical.

I tried to remove redundant entries by deleting in normal mode and safe, but devices reappear.

Is it possible that I can remove these entries and eliminate a conflict between these elements as a source of blockages.

    Thank you very much

    Hello

Normally it should t be a conflict for resources between these different devices.
The Windows operating system should assign automatically different resources if it is needed.

    > I tried to remove redundant entries by deleting in normal mode and safe, but devices reappear.

You can disable the device in Device Manager.
You must first mark the device and then turn it off using the Disable option.
It s a red circle with small PC.

  • Portege R700 (PT311E) - unknown device in XP Device Manager

I managed to identify all devices except this one. It appears in the device as a Manager:

Location: on Intel QM57 Express Chipset LPC Interface Controller - B 3, 07
    Device Instance ID of: ACPI\IFX0102\4 & 375529C 7 & 0

    Any suggestions?

    Simon

    Hey,.

In my opinion, this device has something to with the chipset and, therefore, you have to install the Intel chipset driver. You can download all the drivers of Toshiba's official website:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com

Also check the ID provider and exact device in Device Manager to identify this device. The PCI database website can help you do this:

  • 4 "other unknown devices" in Device Manager. Windows 7 RTM 64 dv7 1450

Just bought a computer HP dv7-1450 laptop with AMD Turion X 2 64 processors. Installed Windows 7 RTM 64 and everything seems to work except there are 4 unknown "other devices" listed in Device Manager. The 4 devices are:

    -System base unit (x 3)

    -Unknown Device (x 1)

I have no idea what are these devices. I tried looking for drivers for chipset on the AMD and HP Web site without result. But I do not know if these are the associated chipsets. One of the devices would be the disk fall sensor hard (it does not appear in the device no matter where Manager)?

Unfortunately on the HP site, there are not many downloads of drivers available for the 64-bit (Vista). I know that Windows 7 64 drivers won't be available until in October, but if there are not any available Vista drivers either, I expect to see all the drivers for Windows 7?

The most important thing for me is just to know what are these "other devices" 4 and get the drivers installed.

    Thanks in advance!

  • Satellite L300 PSLBGE - unknown device in Device Manager

    Hello!

I would be very grateful for any help/tips if anyone has an idea what to do...

My friend has the laptop mentioned above (w/o OS preinstalled) and we can't get the graphics card work properly - situation is the following

    (1) mobile intel 4 series express chipset family, and an unknown device with an exclamation mark in Device Manager
    (2) both are on the same PCI BUS 0, device 2?
    (3) intel does not work because there is no free resources (I should remove the unknown device?) to work with
    (4) HW ID for the unknown device is pci ven_8086 & dev_2A43 and intel pci ven_8086 & dev_2A42 (so basically the same, right?)
    (5) Finally, and most importantly, if I go to the desktop-customize-advanced (first of all no resolution 1280 * 800) I see under adapter type:. Exactly, nothing... under properties, it appears: device not plug and play, Super VGA and under driver, I see just the status and the ability to stop, off, automatic, ask... the device at startup... If I turn it off, the screen just does not shine when the laptop is turned on...
    Any ideas? I'm insaneeeeee...

Vista Home Premium, all other Toshiba SW installed (value pack, intel BIOS 1.9, etc. - maybe the BIOS did it?)

    Thanks in advance!

PS maybe SP1 I now install help?

    Hello

Wait a minute: I checked the Vendor ID and Device ID on www.pcidatabase.com and this is the graphics card Intel. So I think that's the reason why you can t change the resolution of the screen.

I guess you forgot to install the display driver. See the Web from Toshiba site because here you can download the driver:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online decision-making supported Downloads & => Download drivers

After that you should t have no exclamation point.

You can install SP1 for Vista, but that does not solve the problem with the missing display driver. But you should install it because it contains a lot of updates to security, they are important. In addition, I recommend to install SP2 for Vista.

    Good bye

  • Satellite Pro U300 - 2 unknown devices in XP Device Manager

Just installed XP on a U300, I downloaded all the drivers from the Web site.
Now I have 2 unknown devices! Any ideas of what it could be?

    Thank you.

One could be the unknown PCI memory manager.
This PCI memory controller is Intel Turbo Memory, also called logic chip cache Flash Intel.
It is a new technology designed to support the new features of Vista.
There is no driver for Windows XP because XP doesn t supports the cache feature. Vista only supports this!

I don't know what could be the other unknown device. Check just what features don't run and you'll know what it is!

  • Windows 7 RC - Portege M200 - Base system device

Windows 7 RC works well on my M200, but Device Manager is showing a "other device" without driver loaded. He is described as "Base system device" and properties indicates its location as "PCI Bus 2, device 13, function 0'.

I tried online searches and navigation within my M200 for a driver without success. I read elsewhere in these forums that the 'Base system device' could be tied up with the SD utilities. I downloaded a new copy of the SD utilities and installed them, but still no luck. Certainly, the SD format utility does not work - it recognizes not only an SD card in inserted - so maybe the necessary revision of SD utilities for Windows 7.

Not a major problem as I can format SD cards elsewhere, but it would be nice to receive a certificate of good health from Device Manager.

Has anyone another execution in this problem and even better, found a solution?

    Keith Woolf

You are right about revision. All the drivers, tools and utilities for Windows 7 must be designed and tested before they are offered for download. As you know Windows 7 is not yet on the market and the public support can not be started. With first notebook comes with Windows 7 Toshiba Toshiba will be support for the new site and some old models of laptops.

Sorry but there is nothing you can do about it.

    Hello

Would it be possible that the 3rd party software that you have installed to use the USB ports has tangled up the whole system?

The driver for the unknown device that appear in Device Manager can be identified very easily.

    I recommend this HowTo:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/Ann.jspa?annID=78

You have the Vendor ID and the device ID and the use of these two IDS in pci database would help you to find the right driver.

By the way: If your Wlan and cam n t work, install the drivers matrix, you've already tried this?

  • Portege 2000: How to add device in Device Manager base system?

    Hello

I'm trying to implement the SD card reader on my Portege 2000 running the Windows XP operating system.

I downloaded and installed the common modules and my BIOS has not updated.

I downloaded the SD host controller driver, but can't install it because I have no base system device manager for devices by reading me.

How do I get this so I can allow my SD card reader?

    Thank you, happy new year

    Becky

    Hello

Base system device is usually the SD card controller. If you just install it should correct the problem.
SD host controller driver should be installed first. After the SD host controller driver is installed, you can install the SD memory card driver. The driver can be installed as follows:

    SD host controller driver,
    1. from the [start] menu, select [Settings], then click [Control Panel].
    2. double-click [System], and select the [Hardware] tab.
    3. click on [Device Manager].
    4. double-click on [device Base System].
    5. Select the [driver] tab and click [set to update driver].
    6. click [next] and select [display a list of drivers that are known...].
    7. click [next] and select [ECS] in [hardware types].
    8. click on the [disc] button.
9 locate the folder "{CD player}: Windows XP Pro\Toshiba SD Host Controller Driver" and follow the instructions on the screen.
    10. Finally, restart the Windows

For the SD memory card driver

After you have installed the SD host controller driver,
    1. Insert the SD memory card into the SD slot.
2 operating system detects and starts to install the driver from SD card.
    3. specify the INF ({CD player}: Windows XP Pro\Toshiba Driver SD Memory Card) and forward the installation process.
4 copy the file SDDEVMGR.dll in the Windows system directory.
Note that the system directory means \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 for Windows XP.

  • Satellite A200-1The - peripheral unknown in Device Manager

I have the suite listed under question marks in my device manager:

    ? Multimedia controller
    ? Network controller
    ? Unknown device

I installed the sound and it works
I installed the network card and it works

    What are the above devices?

Stand by. Which operating system you are trying to configure?

Have you checked on the Toshiba download section if the installations Instructions document is available? If you follow this document you will install everything you need and everything will be OK.
Anyway, multimedia controller can be peripheral multicard reader, network controller is probably wireless card. I can't say what unknown device because I know not what drivers you have installed.

  • Vista on Satellite A100 - peripheral unknown listed in Device Manager

    Hello

These are the modem and the features of com of your compilation in the 3G module.
Unfortunately the drivers are not available on the European download page now.
I guess it will take a few days until that pilots will be released.
    Please see http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp for this.
