Portege M200 - where to find T & D Utility FD after replacement motherboad
I just replaced the motherboard on a Portege M200.
Installation guide States, you must run the FD T & D after replacing the motherboard and run the initial configuration option.
Nobody knows what is and where can I find this utility?
Its also equally useful for the definition of DMI information.
As far as I know these utilities are special tools that are not designed for public use. Only the Toshiba authorised service provider got such tools and utilities.
Because of this, I put t see another option to contact the ASP in your country and ask for help.
I have a problem with my Portege M200.
Can't find the right driver for the TouchPad or a pencil,
I read that it must be a Wacom Touchpad, but no driver I've tried has worked.
I hope someone can give me a list of all the drivers that I need to use my pen on the screen!
Thanks in advance.
All the drivers are located on the European driver Toshiba page.
Please check again.
The touchpad needs an Alps Electric touchpad driver. It s is available on the page.
In addition, you should the Tablet Pack (on the page too)
This tablet PackMicrosoft Pack Microsoft Office XP for Tablet PC (Tablet Pack) allows you to write directly with your stylus in the documents of Office XP on your Tablet PC.
By the way; You must use the pencil that was equipped with the Portege M200
I need to run the Checkdisk utility on a Windows XP operating system. But I don't know where to find it on the system to run it. Can someone get back to me and let me know? Thank you.
You probably mean 'chkdsk '.

I bought this laptop on e - bay, but I did get a recovery disk. How can I get?
I think you can not order the recovery disk because the Portege M200 is a former model of laptop.
This service is only available for new models of portable computers which are not delivered with the recovery disk, but with the option of HARD drive recovery.
I'm not very well if you want to be able to order this disc for the M200 m.
But maybe you are a lucky man and ASP in your country might help.
Contact the authorized service partner and ask if it would be possible to get this disc.
If this isn't the case, then you must install the OS using the disc of Microsoft. The final Toshiba drivers are placed on the page of Toshiba Europe.
See you soon
First of all Hello to all,
This is my first post and I'm afraid, it is a bit of an oldey.
I came in possetion of a Portege 3440 netbook with cd players and external floppy drive.
The problem is that the cd player works via the NIC port (I think it's pcmia?)
I'm a surfer of money so not sure.
Anyone know where I can get the drive system for this machine and how to install the drivers etc.
I am hoping to get to the top and running with win2k but will come back on if communal win98se.
Sorry this is so long, but hope you can help me.
My deep gratitude in advance to all.
It's very old portable machine and I'm afraid that you would not be able to order the recovery for this laptop m disk.
You will need to install the Windows operating system using a disc of Microsoft.
On the European driver Toshiba page, you will be able to find the drivers and software for this laptop.
You must choose Archive product Type, because the old drivers are placed in the archives.
You will find USB - FDD driver. When you connect the USB floppy drive to the laptop it is ask for a TEAC (mainly in Europe) driver or a driver of YE-data (mainly Asian). Please check which of the drivers you need by connecting the laptop floppy drive to download the driver.
You will also find companion diskette. The accompanying disk contains programs to configure computers Toshiba installation information and to test the equipment. It also contains files and utilities that allow you to get the most out of your Toshiba computer.
Hello, I was wondering where I could find the touch screen for my Portege M400-S5032 pilots.
I looked on the site Toshiba driver but could not find them.
Thanks in advance for your help,
Take a look at the Toshiba driver page we

There you should find the Wacom Dual Touch driver for Windows Vista/XP
I think it's a good thing.
I spilled water on the keyboard of my Portege Z30-A-10W (it's backlit) and some of the keys do not work. Where a keyboard replacement (back-lit with UK layout) can be purchased online?
Thanks in advance,
In my opinion, the question is: who must share the keyboard?
Best option for you is to contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help. They can order an original keyboard for your machine and swap it out.
If you want to do this alone, it can be risky, small mistake and you may damage something. Anyway, each keyboard at the rear has part number that can help you find Goolging autour.
is there a place where I can find the changelog of the version of the bios 1.80 to 3.80? should I upgrade?
-do you have any experience by changing the fan? mine makes sounds that belong not here...
-How long in your experience can take to get a response from toshiba support by e-mail? IM waiting 3 days now... :(
I can t find a log of the changes on the Toshiba site also but why do you want to upgrade the BIOS? In my opinion a BIOS update should only be done if you have problems with your laptop or something else.
Never touch a running system! ;)
Before you exchange the fan you need to clean using a jet of compressed air. This could blow the dust from the cooling fans, and you should do from time to time.
I've owned a Portege M400 for a period of 3-4 months now, and I wonder if there is even one person out there who managed to get this laptop computer working under vista 64-bit.
I finally got bluetooth drivers to work, after the arrival of drivers available. But the following list does not work or I have not found drivers that work.
-The buttons below the LCD
-Accelometer (and all the utilities like screen rotation or to do something about tilting machine)
HARD disk utility - protection (I installed Vista drivers, but they totally destroyed the machine and I had to restore system did not start after the installation of windows)
And I could live if I couldn't get buttons and accelometer to work, but still it would be great that the computer laptop everything would work.
I'm starting to lose hope and I am already planning to install pirate Vista 32 bit in this laptop... Because it seems that it was a mistake to buy 64-bit ultimate. Some drivers Toshibas indicates they are pilots 'vista', but they do not yet work with the 64-bit version, which has little frustrating...
In any case if someone could help me I would appreciate it a lot! Because I'm getting slowly frustrated with this problem with vista 64-bit.
Thanks in advance
I really understand you, but there is nothing to see! Toshiba Vista 64-bit drivers are not available on the Toshiba page. Nothing!
Of course, you can use a Vista 64 bit on laptops, but you will get not all 64-bit drivers. Maybe more later but not at this time!
So either you will switch back to Vista 32 bit or you need to use this notebook without 64-bit drivers. But this is not recommended
[My company: http://www.oracle.com] recently purchased a R600 for me. I tried to access the latest downloads and updates of the [support site | http://www.mytoshiba.com.au/support/download] but was unable to do so because one). Your model is listed here?
I inherited a R400 Prototype of one of our guys to laboratory here at the office and made the mistake of flashing the BIOS to 1.5 of Windows.
Now, I get a black screen and a power indicator light flashes.
The old BIOS was 0.6 and I can't seem to find one or even a version prior to 1.5 on the web.
Anyone happen to have a pointer to the older versions? Maybe on an FTP server, so I can try to flash?
Official website of Toshiba, you can download the latest version of the BIOS. In addition it of not possible to downgrade the BIOS.
In any case, to downgrade the BIOS, you must contact an ASP. They can downgrade the BIOS with an earlier version if you wish.
On the Toshiba site, you can search with ASP:

I put Fujitsu SATA HDD in Portege S100-s1133 in the BIOS section of raid array that I couldn't able to change settings built in hard disk JBOD to 1RAID-0 form. When I made this change in the BIOS it couldn't recognize the RAID so I couldn't install OS.
If someone knows this topic could you please help me?
Before you install the operating system, you must implement the RAID driver.
The RAID driver you will find on the page of the Toshiba driver!
Download and save the disk from the floppy drive. Then, connect the external USB FDD drive to the laptop. During the post-installation OS will ask you a raid driver installation. As I remember, you must press the S key.
But can I ask you which CD you use? If you are using the recovery CD you n t need to install the RAID driver more because this driver already exists on the CD.
It of necessary only if you install the operating system from the original CD of Microsoft operating system
PS: Please also check you user manual. There is everything described in the simple way ;)

Where can I find the drivers for my Portege M200? Because there is none on the download page. The only drivers that you might find there are drivers for bluetooth, wlan and I think it is. Have no drivers for my sound card, my network card and all the other stuff.
I need to download because I really really need to do a fresh install and my recovery disk is lost since the last time I moved.
Naturally, I called Toshiba and asked if I could get a new one, or if I could download it some how, the response I got was "I'm sorry, neither we nor any of our partners have a.
And because the windows license is only valid for the Windows XP Tablet edition with SP1 preistalled "Toshiba" and the only way I could get if I had such a drive.
So the advice gave me support was to buy a new license windows and if I wanted to all work I must review the Windows XP Tablet edition 2005 or something like that.
But since I already have XP pro license, I decided to install it because I almost never use the tablet properties more. And now when I did just that I can't find almost all the drivers my computer cannot function properly.
