Portege M300 with Dual Core

Hello

Does anyone know if it is planning to produce a Portege M300 with new processors dual-core?

I need to replace an old Portege 4010 and wait if dual core is on the right track. 4010/M300 is a brilliant compromise of size because it fits into a safe hotel standrad room when they travel.

Thank you, Richard

Hello

I got this Toshiba brochure on dual-core technology.
But unfortunately I found nothing on the protégé and the dual-core.

But if you want, you can check this from Toshiba Web site.

  • Portege M300: Is the protection of HARD drive only for the brand of Toshiba drives?

    Hello

I am trying to upgrade my Portege M300 with a hard drive bigger, as seen on the Portege forum, I posted the thread after that two hard drives from samsung does not similarly, shortly after the installation of the new.

I just want to know if the protection of Toshiba HARD drive utility is simply made for Toshiba hdd or if it can work on any other brands of hard drives of brand. As I say, I want to upgrade a 60 GB to 160 GB and 2 new hard drive failed. I've since updated my bios to the latest version and I also consider not to install this hard drive protection feature, just in case where it will cause problems once more with my 3rd HDD replacement of same nature.

I appreciate any thoughts on this.

    Hello

Usually it s any manufacturer is.
If the HARD disk supports the CHIP so it should be possible to use this HARD drive.
The HARD disk protection tool verifies the parameters of the HARD disk.
But the settings are configured by HDD manufacture then it might be possible that the HARD disk will not work if the tool would not choose the settings correctly.

  • Portege M300 - is updated as possible DVD RW?

I just bought a second hand Portege M300 with integrated CD RW unit. I was wondering if anyone has upgraded to DVD RW and what models might adapt / work. I read somewhere (but I can't find him!) that there is a 'block' on different disks being installed (i.e. the machine does not recognize the new drive if not factory equipped). Is this true or a cyber-myth?

I requested technical assistance in this matter, but they don't seem to have a useful answer...

Can I replace my CD - RW drive with an internal DVD RW drive?

I know I could buy an external hard drive relatively cheaply on Ebay, but I prefer an intern, I carry with me the kind of thing!

    Thanks in advance.

  • No DHCP / wrong IP of open networks - Portege M300

    Hello

IM using a Portege M300 with a built-in wlan card. I have w2k with sp 4 installed. My problem is that I can connect very often to open wlan points, but most of the time that my computer can't pick the right IP address or dhcp server. I've experienced this in many different places and now Im seeing this again in a network home. WEP is disabled, so is mac filtering and all other computers on the wireless network work just fine, but not my laptop. In this case, I checked the router and the ip address range is in the range 192, but my laptop contains an ip address that begins with 169.

Does anyone have an idea what could be my problem?

    Sincerely

    Johan

    Hi Johan

Believe me on this path is not easy to tell exactly what is happening in your case. The fact is that a lot of people have similar problems. Not because of Toshiba for laptop or same Portege M300, but because of the wireless card. It is known that card WiFi Intel 2200 B/g do some connection problems.

Please check this page http://support.intel.com/support/wireless/wlan/pro2200bg/ Intel

  • Audio Software OR Traktor - freezes for about half a second because of Dual Core

    Hello

I've been test Native Instruments Traktor DJ Studio 3 and very often the audio timeline would freeze for about half a second and the game continues. I also have a good low latency soundcard PCI card, so that does not these breaks.

I managed to get rid of this problem by disabling the second processor core in the BIOS setup. However, I don't like the fact that I'll have to do each time that I use Traktor.

Is it a hardware problem or software? Software that does not use the two hearts should be able to run without problems, but apparently, there are a few interruptions happening that prevent some programs smoothly.

That's why I'm posting here instead of the forums of NOR.

    Hello

Why wouldn't be a hardware problem?
The fact is that the processors with dual core Intel design and it will appear in Device Manager. Also I m sure that Intel will design with double CPU and core more in the future.

However, I think and I'm sure it's only a software problem. Software developers have overlooked this fact that there could be another type of processors. In my opinion, you must contact the software manufacturing support to clear this problem. Maybe a few updates are available.

    That's all I can suggest.

  • Dual Core processor problem

Hi, I have an Acer Aspire 5720Z computer ultralight laptop with dual core on windows Vista. By a stupid mistake, I stopped him while he was updating software, so now whenever I try to turn it on, the screen goes black and it does not start.

As it is a dual core, I keep all of my personal information in the D drive (+ photos, docs, etc.), so my question is: if I restore the operating system, are my deleted information even if it is registered in the D drive (not C)?

I hope you can help me! Thank you

    CR

    Hello

Dual-core refers to the processor on the motherboard, not to your problem or your disks.

C: and D: are two partitions on your hard drive Acer; D: as for data on an Acer Acer has a "hidden" recovery partition

And Yes; If you restore / recover (new) factory settings, you will lose all your data, such as C: and D: are removed and reinstalled like new during the recovery operation.

Try a system restore to before that the problem using the F8 method (put your Acer in time, NOT again by reinstalling the operating system) in Safe Mode:

  • What drivers are needed for windows 7 recognize a system with 4 processors, dual-core?

I have a HP ProLiant DL580 G4 with the following CPU specifications:

Four dual-core processors Intel Xeon 7140 M. All of them identical, but the specifications can be found here

I'm running Windows 7 ultimate or Windows 7 Enterprise, but the recognition of all the 4 physical processors is a MUST.

I can run windows on it very well, but he acknowledges that 2 of the 4 physical processors.

It seems it would be a driver issue, as Device Manager shows two devices having the status of 'unknown '.

If it is, in fact, a driver problem, does Microsoft have all the drivers available, or shall I seek third party?

I would appreciate any advice you can offer. Thank you!

I hope that someone will know better, but (from the search), so it seems that it only supports two:

    "Computers with multiple processors (CPU):
Commercial servers, workstations and other PC high-end may have multiple physical processors. Windows 7 Professional, Enterprise and integral allow two physical processors, offering the best performance on these computers. Windows 7 Starter, Home Basic and Home Premium edition recognizes only a single physical processor. "

  • What happens if there is multi-core or Dual-Core coupling processors to the top with Windows 7 Home Premium?

So if I have a Windows7 Home Premium 64 - bit operating system and I use a processor dual core (Intel Dual Core e5300 CPU) are fully compatible or how they work together, given the fact that Windows 7 recognizes that one of the two processors? Playback of the system is expressed in the fact that it has two current processors. Both processors work simultaneously to form a combined data stream is a dormant or they turn on and off opposing to another so that each works half the time? Many scenarios as possible, but I would like to know... the real answer as to what needs to be changed eventually to bring together a system more fluid? My main question is the operating system and the processor may be an incompatibility problem that has not yet been addressed? I can't find any answer in the Center Compatabiity of Windows 7 or anywhere else. Or is the limitation of windows 7 Home Premium and only be able to support an unfounded processor see the fact that there are many systems that are in work today with these components. ?

    Hey Randy,

If your system has two separate physical processors (not hearts) and you are running Windows 7 Home Premium, the second processor is completely ignored. It turns on and turn his fans, but it does not all rights for the computer. Windows 7 Home Premium will not take advantage of a single processor.

However, if you have a single physical processor with multiple cores, Windows 7 64-bit will benefit from up to 256 cores. It is very probably the type of machine that you have because it is quite rare to have multiple processors co-location in a workstation computer.

In this scenario, Windows will use two cores for separate tasks. Applications will be evenly distributed between the carrots, unless the application has been written to take advantage of multiple cores. The two hearts are turned on and both are used when the system is running.

You can check if Windows has recognized the two hearts looking Manager of the tasks of your system:

    1. Open the Task Manager by right-clicking the taskbar, and then click Start Task Manager.
    2. Click the performance tab.

The top two graphs show how much CPU is used, as well at the moment and for a few minutes. If the CPU usage history graph seems shared, your computer has multiple processors, a single dual-core CPU or both.

Windows 7 system requirements also go in a little more detail on how many windows cores/processors can take in charge:

  • Premiere Pro with a dual-core processor

    Hello

So, I was trying to first Pro CS6 to edit my AVCHD. MTS files. However my AMD Dual - Core Processor E300 couldn't handle files, resulting in "choppy" playback I was wondering if my processor would be better manage your HD files if I the converted to another type of file, ideas or suggestions? And which converter I could use to keep the 1920 x 1080 HD quality? I can't upgrade my CPU, I tried

    I appreciate all suggestions.

This CPU is slower than molasses in winter, it marks a ugly 630 in the test CPU of the pass mark, where a decent CPU would score more 16 000.

Forget it. No way it will work, it's far too slow and underpowered. Get a new PC. It will be same triple DV material, not to mention the AVCHD material. It's like asking your grandma to carry a load of 20 tons up a steep hill, with his 50 year old bike. Can't do.
