Portege M700-106: unable to start the task manager & programs after Vista sleep

Hello

In fact I am facing problem like below...
Configuration: Portege M700-106 with upgrades (Hynix Kingston 4 GB, WD Scorpio 320 GB with jumper default config doesn't = no jumper)
Reinstalled system from Toshiba DVD recovery, all updates possible on web too.

However, when I wake Vista from the suspense Task Manager I think I can't start (continuous report) some programs (e.g. ThunderbirdPortable of SDHC), all other programs works well enough.

Anyone can know the reason, solution for this?

Thanks for help

Staszek

Hello

As far as I understand, you are not able to use some 3rd party applications after the awakening of Eve Vista but other applications running ok only software Thunderbird Portable to the SDHC card.

Well, I have come to the conclusion that the card reader can hangs after the awakening of the stand by mode or the ThunderbirdPortable should be repeated. Probably it s not a problem of Vista, but question ThunderbirdPortable.
Have you tried to search if this is a known issue with this software?

I would recommend this review!

    Hello

    1. What is the full/exact error message?
2 were there any hardware or software changes made on the computer before this problem?

    Follow the steps.

    Method 1
Start the computer in safe mode and check if the problem persists, if the question does not persist then perform the clean boot and check if the problem resolves.

    Step 1
Safe mode starts Windows with a limited set of files and drivers. Startup programs do not work in safe mode, and only the basic drivers needed to start Windows are installed. Please click the below mentioned link.
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

    Step 2
Put the computer in a clean boot state to see if there is a software conflict as the clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135
Note: After you have performed the steps in the clean boot troubleshooting, follow step 7 the link to start the computer to a Normal startup mode.

    Method 2:
See the help article and check if it helps.

Error: Windows Explorer has stopped working

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/2694911

Important: When performing analysis on the hard drive if bad sectors are found on the hard drive when parsing tent repair this sector if all available on which data can be lost.

An upgrade on the spot is the final solution before you have to reinstall the operating system.
Note that it takes as much time to do the upgrade as to reinstall the operating system. In addition, some of your custom Windows settings may be lost through this process.

  • The Explorer does not start, the Task Manager does not start, safe mode does not start. Wat to do?

I have recently been diagnosed with some sort of spyware / trojan in Avira and, apparently, he had removed. Apparently NOT.

Yesterday my laptop crashed and explorer.exe would not load at startup. The screen is all black with just the cursor. Windows Key + R is not raise Run and Alt + Ctrl + Del to appear the option lock and stop... but no task manager.

Safe mode has the same problem. I tried the option restore also, but all the restore points has mysteriously disappeared.

I wonder if there is no solution without a ridiculous amount of data backup and restoration of the entire system. Thanks in advance

    Hello

You can access Mode safe? Repeatedly press F8 as you start? If yes you can try Control Panel - device
Manager - graphics card - Double click on - driver tab - click on UPDATE driver - then right click
on devices and UNINSTALL - REBOOT.

Another method to try to get to the desktop (try in normal Windows Mode without failure)
CTRL + ALT + DELETE and on the tab process EXPLORER.exe and COMPLETE the PROCESS on this subject - then
on the Applications tab - lower right - new task - type in EXPLORER.exe. Safe mode is reached
by tapping F8 as you start several times.

  • the Task Manager does not start

My laptop started running very slowly and I can't seem to start the Task Manager. Ctrl alt delete gives me the opportunity to start that I chose, but I don't get an inactive icon in my toolbar. I am running vista Home basic with service pack 1. When I restart or stop the laptop hangs at logging off-page. I also noticed that some of my applications/startup process are not start or appearing in my toolbar. I initially had Bit defender as my anti virus - but he exchanged for computer related. I had the problem with both.

    Hi Omanianne,

Please read the following article from Microsoft Help on the Troubleshooting Task Manager.  Specifically, look at the sections of the Task Manager does not start, and How to enable the Task Manager if it has been disabled.  Based on the other symptoms you have described, it is very possible that you have some kind of virus.  Please make sure that your antivirus software is up to date and run a scan complete your system.  Please let us know if you have any problems or questions.  Thank you.

Windows 7 starts with a black screen (since the last update), if I go to the Task Manager and processes there are 2 sessions of "run once container" if I stop or another (they are two different size) windows lights up normally.

    Can someone help me please?

    Hello

    Thank you for the information.

System Restore helped to heal the cause (last option of course)

not sure about the Windows update that seemed to start the problem, but it is 2 instances of run once Wrapper were running.   I have found that if black screen you started the Task Manager, then selected and close it, either run it once windows Wrappers would begin.

Anyway thanks for your help, we are now healed.

  • The task manager has started to appear without borders and will not go away, unless the computer is off.

When using the Ctrl-alt-delete option and the Manager tasks appears it seems without borders.  The task manager remains after the programs are all closed and will not go away, unless the computer is off.

I recently started using Windows 8. But after a few days, I started facing a problem with the Task Manager. When I press Ctrl + Shift + ESC, the Task Manager opens for a second and quits immediately. I tried using other ways to open the Task Manager, as a right click on the taskbar, and then click the Ctrl + Alt + Delete option too. IM facing the same problem. Help, please.

    Hello

You can try after the ways to solve this problem:

    1. open Windows Explorer and navigate to the following location.

    C:\Windows\System32

Look in this folder for the file taskmgr.exe

If you find the file, double click on this file. This starts the Task Manager?

    2. If above a breaks down, then try to run command SFC/scannow in prompt with administrative privileges.

I hope that you are the administrator of your Windows 8. If nothing is done, go to update:
