  Last night Windows Vista Home d/load updates new update - IE 8 and I uninstalled Avast anti virus and put on PC Tools antivirus. • When I start my laptop Vista loaded, I get 'Please Wait' for more than 2 minutes sometimes. What does Vista behind my back?

  I have a Toshiba laptop with no extra or odd options, this is the case whenever I start and it's annoying when Vista was announced as being quick to start.  This small circular thing continues his tail for up to 4 minutes while the 'Please Wait' shines.  Very unsatisfactory.  I also bought the best virus/malware protection money can buy, at least that's what they say, it's a bit like microsoft.

  Check if the same problem occurs if you "clean boot" your system (check this page). This should load Windows Vista without third-party programs. If the startup time is better, then you will need to find or which program is causing the problem.

  Adobe has the customer service...  The quick/more easier way to communicate with them is usually via live online chat, although it cannot be opened permanently.  Is that what you meant by "waiting on live help for 10 minutes"?

  Do you use your Portege with factory settings?

  What you need to do is to stop all unnecessary processes running in the background. This will reduce the CPU usage.
  By the way: change the parameters of cooling method.
  You can find it in the plan advanced power settings > Toshiba Power saver > cooling method. Change it to optimized battery.
  It will reduce the cooling fan activity and cell phone will last a lot quieter.

  Test it please and post comments.

• TB has worked fine until yesterday when I needed to send a message to more than 100. I divided the AddressBook into pieces and sent about 50 when TT502 came.

  I use TB 31.7.0, PC Windows 7. Had no problems until now. I divided the 100 addresses in groups of about 20 and sent to 3 groups. The 4th was wrong and I got the message: "too many recipients, TT502. I cut down the number of addresses, but the problem persists. I can't send all messages now, even to a single recipient.   Looks like you reach the limit of the sending of your provider. Of course sending for 1 person isn't too unless your provider has a hourly or daily limit and cut you.
  Given that the error has an associated server code the error came from your server vendors. Thunderbird would have nothing to do with it.

  I am a user of seven years of Thunderbird. I have subfolders, but have been using Thunderbird for many years and it was never a problem, although I had a similar problem a year or two ago due to a McAfee issue that was finally resolved. • Help, please! CHKDSK stuck at step 4 of 5-6% for more than 90 minutes. If it is frozen? What can I do?

  Not very intuitive with the hard disks, disks, partitions, etc.  A friend told me I should be defragging my computer frequently to help it work better.  Then, I looked at steps to defragment and learned to run chkdsk first before you defragment.  I clicked on properties, tools, scheduled chkdsk for my C drive, checked the boxes ("automatically fix file system errors" and "Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors") and rebooted my computer to run the chkdsk command.

  Here is what my screen said during the last 90 minutes:

  The type of the file system is NTFS.
  volume label is PRESARIO.

  A disk check has been programmed. Windows will now check the disk.

  CHKDSK checks the files (stage 1 of 5)
  (deleted and corrupted files verification of such complete record)
  CHKDSK is checking the indexes (stage 2 of 5)
  (same as step 1... full check)
  CHKDSK is recovering lost files
  CHKDSK checks the security descriptors (stage 3 of 5)
  Security descriptor complete check.
  CHKDSK checks Usn Journal
  Audit of the USN Journal is complete.
  CHKDSK is verifying file data (stage 4 of 5)
  6 percent completed.

• I'm not able to build the Bluray. I get an error message "setting more than 30 characters.

  

  I tried to export to different places and readers on my computer, but I still get this error. With the latest CC 2015 and still

  I would say that this problem started a couple of days. Went to start my laptop (Toshiba) and he sat on the "Please wait" message forever.

  Had no problems to start in safe mode. Looked up various ways of addressing the problem.

  Was able to change the resume date and back a few weeks ago. Still no luck. Happened to read something on a printer Epson being perhaps the problem driver (it was installed a day before the date of restoration chosen). Uninstalled the drivers, computer still does not start.

  Tried restarting running. I do not have the CD it came with Vista, but it was an option when you hold F8 during startup (I think?) Couldn't find any problems.

  Ran check on memory. No problem either.

  Changed settings for a verbose startup and ran a Diagnostic startup - all good for this. Then tried selective startup load system services... This is when the error occurs. When starting, it hangs on "Please wait for the Local Session Manager" and does nothing more.

  I looked in the event viewer to see what came that time and a couple mistakes were:

  Event ID 6000: winlogon notification subscriber was unavailable to handle a notification event.

  Event ID 7026: the next (s) start or start failed to load system
  spldr
  Wanarpv6

  It would be very useful for me not having to run my computer in safe mode automatically all the time, although it is useful that I at least have that option. Any help is greatly appreciated.

  2. as you mentioned in your article that you tried the selective startup, I want to confirm if you have disabled the services left 3rd after hide Microsoft services?

  If you did not disable these services make sure you disable and then check if it works.
