  I bought new Toshiba battery original for my M800-107, since man alone has lost half of its capacity. The problem is when I plugged this new battery in Win7 says "No charge, battery connected" and after that "no battery is detected. When I unplug AC, laptop works, but when I plug it again, still no load (no existence of the battery). The Red of the battery charge indicator flashes, when the AC is unplugged, lights when AC is connected. I have tried everything what I found on the internet for this problem, but nothing worked :-(

  My battery is really bad and I would like to buy a new one. I took a glance at the Web of Toshiba site and in the battery section I found the battery with it (* PA5110U-1BRS *) reference number is compatible with my laptop.

  The problem is my laptop battery has this (* PA5024U-1BRS *) reference number which is different from the one above.

  I would like to know if this battery is really compatible with mine and if not, what batteries (part number) are?

  I own a Toshiba Portege M800-107, I recently installed windows 7 (ultimate edition), which has improved the capabilities of my laptop. The only problems I see are:

  (1) the utility power management, when I install the necessary drivers on the official page of Toshiba, the problem is that the package of added value is installed without the power management. For now I have more to come the problem using power options offered by Windows 7.

  (2) the biggest problem is the HDD Protection Utility, that whenever I try to install the driver from the official site, it stops the installation with the reason that "material is not supported by this computer.

  There is no special tool of Power Saver for Win 7. Value added package provides a few additional options that you can find in Win 7/Vista power management.

  The HDD Protection Utility using the acceleration sensor built into the computer.
  The point is that there are different M800 market and possibly your M800 does not support acceleration sensor. This could be the reason why you can not install this tool.

  I use a Portege M800-116 under XP - SP3.

  Problem 1:
  Connection Line-Out to a stereo system and play music with Winamp or WinMediaPlayer works fine on battery.

  I m not Portege M800 owner so I can t he test for you, but I think that if the problem occurs only when the AC adapter is connected, it s a grounding problem

  You have 3-pin or 2-pin AC/DC adapter?
  As far as I know in this case you need 3-pin AC/DC adapter and power cord.

  You should ask an ASP in your country. Guys can order a new AC/DC adapter and check your laptop to what the problem is exactly.

  I have a Portege M800 M105 with Vista 64 bit. The fan is almost always on despite the fact that the temperature of the CPU is about 43 to 46 Grad Celsius and the CPU has nothing to do.   You are right. The Toshiba Power Saver for Win XP looks completely different as the Vista energy saver.
  But you can also change many settings in Vista energy saver that contribute to the use of the battery power decreases.

• Portege M800-106 - bad quality by using the external monitor

  I use an external monitor LG Flatron L1811S on my Portege M800 and find that the image is not rock solid when I use the display on my desktop or screen of the M800.
  It is particularly visible on the big patches of color block where I can see shimmering light. I noticed that it's especially bad if I recently reconnected the laptop to the network after using on battery power until the battery is fully charged.

  This makes me think that the PSU interferes with the VGA output?

  I have a Portege M800 and the lights to the right of the power button won't turn off - even if the machine is completely turned off and unplugged from the power supply cable.

  I tried updated of the VAP and BIOS of downloads and have used the BIOS to turn off the power of LED lighting and tried to use Dimmer.EXe.

  They all turned off light Portege itself and the light above the touch pad, but not the 6 lights to the right of the power button.

  you just bought a new Portege M800 running Vista.

  When the system goes into sleepmode or put into hibernation, there are not any what posisbility to wake up the system. I have to remove the battery is reactivated.

  Downloaded and installed the latest version of the BIOS, does all the Vista updates. Also checked the BIOS, the wake on LAN and the wake of keyboard are enabled
  Anyone else having this problem?

  Meanwhile, I've disabled hiernation and sleepmode in Vista, but this should not be the way to do it.

  I m not a Portege M800 owner but normally I would say that you should try to update the BIOS and install all Windows updates, but you already have it not.

  What can you do now? If you have installed your own version Windows try again with the factory settings. Maybe it has something to do with software or then I don't know m.

• Portege M800 drive not found

  I have a Portege M800 which runs on Vista. I got it 6 months ago. Everything works well except now when I tried to play a DVD, he did not play.   To be honest I m was really asking you this display problem. Portege and Tecra are the best notebooks of Toshiba business line and for years, they are known as products of high quality with the best material.

  Anyway, sometimes the best products have problems and be in trouble. Similar things happen with all technical products. I know that's enough damage and angry, especially in the time when you need your laptop.

  Maybe it sounds stupid now, but maybe you can buy view on your own and find someone who can exchange it for you. I did it for my friend a few years ago. We purchased watch on eBay and we exchanged it alone. Of course on our own risk.

• Portege M800 - Touchpad light extinguishes, and comp slows

  I have a Portege M800, model PPM81C-05C020.

  My problem is that the light above my touchpad dims and then gradually turns off completely. When this happens, I can't use the touchpad.
