Portege R400: How to enable the TPM in the BIOS

I have the Porteg R400.
The TPM is asking me to activate it TPM chip by setting the bios, but the bios setting there is not the activation setting.

This means that it is not the TPM chip installed?

Hello

AFAIK the Portégé R400 supports the TPM chip, but it must first be activated.
The special BIOS upgrade is required to activate this option.

But it's a little tricky to my knowledge only the Toshiba certified maintainer can do that.
So I would recommended contacting the service guy and ask a technician for more details!

Do you know how to contact the ASP?
On the Toshiba page you will find a list with ASP available worldwide.

Check it ;)

  • Portege R400 - how to get the fingerprint device to HDD unlock

    Portege R400 model PPR40E-00901LEN

I've had this laptop since 2007 new (approximately). I put the BIOS and disk passwords HARD and the biometric to unlock the BIOS, HARD and Vista drive. It worked well until recently. Result of an incident when someone tried to crack into the machine, it unlocks is no longer the HARD drive

The attacker confessed to the use of BACKSPACE to work around the footprint digital, correctly guessed the password of BIOS and going on to make several attempts to enter the HDD password.

Now when I try to access the computer by using the fingerprint reader, it unlocks the BIOS ok, so he remembers clearly to me. However, it is not open HARD drive. Apparenlty the fact that 3 + failures to enter the master password disk HARD text forces text of this password and no biometric entry. At least, there seems to be something like that.

    My questions are

    (1) in these circumstances, the BIOS anterio-rite the biometric to forget the HARD drive password?

    (2) or is still piometric my disk HARD but the BIOS password feature is not asking him?

    (3) if 3 or something similar, so this password is always in the biometirc device, how to tell the device to provide this password?

Please note that I can't in the BIOS right now, because do not unlock the HARD drive prevents the POSITION to perform.

Of course, I know what I really need to do is type the HARD drive password. Unfortunately in about four years, I forgot it. I hope that I can get into the BIOS if I remove the HARD drive physically, but wonder if there is something else I should do first in order to avoid making things worse.

    Thanks to hope

  • Portege R700 - how to upgrade the BIOS?

    Hello

I'm trying to update the BIOS of my R700 computers with a command line on Windows 7 (x 86 edition french).
I am using the version of the BIOS is P007Bv170_EC73V140.

I downloaded the bios - 20101112151130.zip official website of Toshiba. In the zip file, there is no statement (no file Readme.txt or other help... files).

Is there a way to upgrade in silent mode in the BIOS?
    Thank you for your help,

    Vincent

    Hey,.

You need to run the exe file you will find in archive zip you downloaded. After this update the BIOS will start.

But before this update, unzip all files and close all running programs. Also, make sure that you are logged on as administrator.

  • Portege 4000 - how to enable the WLan using W2k

    Hello

I installed the driver for Lucent Wireless LAN (6.41.1.87) for this laptop that has W2K.

However, I can't control it! I also installed a wireless keyboard shortcut, but there are no instructions on it.

This laptop was initially W98SE top, and it's a fight to get this working.

    Any ideas?

    Hello

The FN keys are controlled by common Modules.
Please install common Modules to obtain the essential work of the FN.
In addition, you need to install Wireless Hotkey

In addition, there are two different drivers WLan for Portege W2k. Driver Wlan Cisco and Lucent Technologies Wlan driver.
Do not forget that you are using the correct driver.

    Hello

Of course, you should be able to find the touchpad settings in Control Panel-> mouse-> pointing device (last tab)-> settings button.

But this requires the Synaptics touchpad driver installed. This driver has been installed?
If this is not the case, see this page of the Synaptics driver:

    This gives a test:

    1. click on START
    2. click on 'run '.
3 type "notepad" (without the quotes) and press enter
    4. copy and paste this into Notepad:

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\usb]
    "USBBIOSHACKS" = DWORD: 00000000

  • How to enable the ReadyBoost feature?

I would like to know how to enable the ReadyBoost feature.

    Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks in advance for your suggestions

I would like to know if it is possible to assign an SSD internal to do this instead of using a USB drive or not.  I tried ReadyBoost option in SSD drive is not available.

    Do you have any suggestions?
Thanks a lot for your suggestions :>

    Hello

Sorry, but you cannot use an internal hard drive for ReadyBoost. Indeed, an SSD can not use ReadyBoost.

This feature can use a USB flash drive external as a hard drive cache to improve the disk read performance.

  • How to enable the CDI an area of weblogic (not IntegratedWeblogicService)

I created a project with IDC in Jdeveloper 12.1.3 and it works very well in IntegratedWebLogicService. I deploy it as a WAR file to a weblogic domain. However, the jsf pages cannot get the value of beans and just show #{items.smallest} , #{items.biggest}.

How to enable the CDI in a weblogic domain base?

    Thank you very much.

CDI is not an option available on Weblogic server or a configurable parameter.

It is a feature of the Java EE 6 platform and you can not disable/enable the only feature on weblogic server.

Try it below to solve the problem

Connect to the stand-alone server administration console and check if libraries necessary dependency for your application is deployed, or the necessary components have been extended during the creation of the field.

You could quickly check comparing deployments of libraries on both stand-alone and integrated administration console weblogic server.

Registered the application libraries is also written in the config.xml file, which can also be used to compare.

    It could be useful!

    Thank you

  • How to access the BIOS on a Pavilion Elite e9237c with mouse and keyboard wireless?

I have a desktop computer Pavilion Elite e9237 with a wireless keyboard and mouse. I tried to access the BIOS by pressing F10 at startup with no luck, and I can't access any of the other menus for the start-up eiither. I don't have a PS/2 port on my computer, so I can't get a wired keyboard and mouse. Does anyone know how to access the BIOS with this configuration?

I bought a USB keyboard and he answered in the same way... No bios access. I then studied why it did not work and discovered that it was the way in which he has been connected to the computer. I had initially plugged into a USB hub when he was not working and I moved it directly into a USB port and it works! I plugged my keyboard wireless directly into the USB port and it works too! Thanks for your help... I wouldn't have thought of it if it wasn't for to recommend you the USB keyboard.
