Portege R500 - cannot remove the password user and supervisor

Hoping someone can help me with a problem,

I voluntarily put a password for user and supervisor on one of our Portege R500.
I know what the password is, but I just want to remove so that I am not prompted for the password whenever the laptop is turned on.

I seem to be unable to disable this feature, which is a problem that the laptop is about to be reassigned to a differnet use that would be impractical for users to have to put a password on startup.

He must have a way to disable the password requirement.

Of course, you can disable this password. Just use the same way you used to.
It can be done using Toshiba Assist > Secure. You used this way to get into these options, you?

Someone has put a policy on your machine to enforce some rules for passwords. Best is to ask that person to change these rules for you. Alternatively, you can run gpedit.msc, then follow this path to edit yourself: Local computer policy / Computer Configuration / Windows settings / security settings / account policy / password policy.

    Note also that:

  • Cannot remove the old user account (admin)

I'm on a MacBook Pro 15 "the retina with OS X Yosemite 10.10.5.

I have two admin accounts, an 'old' I do not use and a more current that I use.

I want to delete the 'old' admin account, but I get an error message: "cannot delete user... account error backup in the home folder for this user."

Here are the steps I followed:

    1. System Preferences-> users and groups

    2. click on unlock icon; authentication with username and password

    3. click on the 'old' user account and click on the button "-" to remove it.

    4. Select the option "save the home folder in a disk image", then click on remove the user

    5. for the moment, he says 'delete account '.

6 then I get the error message.

I know that I could choose the second option (in step 4), but I really want to move the old files of the user users users/Deleted.

Any advice or ideas would be greatly appreciated

The first thing that comes to mind is the following: is there enough room for the disc to be created image and put in files? The files are not moved from the reader to the disk image, they are copied. Then for a time in the account to be deleted files will be on the computer two times. The second thing that comes to mind is that there is a directory of the hard drive problem. If you do not have enough space and is my first problem, start the recovery partition and use the directory of disk to repair the drive. And the third thing that might be the cause of the problem is a bad file that cannot be copied to the disk image. It will be difficult to understand because basically, you will need to open each file to find the one that is perhaps incorrect.

  • Cannot remove the XP user account

This is a limited account that I need is no longer. I already deleted the password. Everything else works fine. I use a good antivirus and scan for viruses and spyware regularly. I'm the only user on the computer, so I don't know what could be the problem. I have no other problems at all. However, when I log on as an administrator and try to delete this unused account my computer just hangs. I get an error message "not responding". I get the same result if I choose "keep files" or delete files. I deleted the unused accounts of my computer before without problem. Anyone know what I am doing wrong?

  • Cannot access the local users and groups

Hello everyone, I got this error since April 2010:
Cannot access the computer ComputerName. The error was: invalid syntax.

It is not really bad for me, because I used to use the cmd console.

I followed several recommendation to solve this error, but without success. Many colleagues have the same error. About 100 of the 500 have this problem.
Don't tell me to reinstall the PC because it is not possible. I have no spare time to set my PC again and install all required software. And to reinstall the PC isn't sollution.

Re-register the dll or other files not work. Not work replace the msc or cpl files. Installation of the admin packs, technical resource kits or installer also not work.

No errors in the application logs, no errors in the system log, no errors in the security logs. GPO is clear. The same mistake in compmgmt.msc, lusrmgr.msc, or when I add the MMC snap-in. So I guess that the error in the XML (MS XML) parser tool or in the msc file.

Do someone have the solution for this?

Yet once the relocation no solution!

    Hi louis,.

There was a problem in the past that users typed a user/supervisor password on windows with special characters as a and O. When they have restarted the laptop, they were unable to type these characters because the only universal characters as BIOS area a, b, c,... are accecpted!

Then try to use a password with 'normal' characters and restart or you try to set the password directly in you BIOS. Enter the BIOS is simple (push start button and press ESC), then you can also use the functions BIOS!

  • remove the administrator name and password

cannot update or download programs. pop up States 'type admin name'... but the area type in 'GRAYED OUT' help!

If you had only an administrative user account and it is him that you damaged, all is not lost. You want to allow the built-in Administrator and create a new administrative user by general recommendations for the establishment of user accounts in Vista that I will give you at the end of this post.

All this requires a certain level of computer skills. You know better and that take the machine to a competent local computer tech (not a type of BigComputerStore/GeekSquad place) is the best solution for you.

If you have an installation of Vista DVD (not a recovery DVDs), you can start the system with it. Select the default language, then select "repair your computer". Then select "Command Prompt". At the command prompt, type:

NET user administrator / Active: Yes [press Enter]

[Note: do not enter the brackets!]

Remove the installation DVD and restart the computer. Now, you will be able to log on to the built-in Administrator account.

If you do not have a Vista installation DVD (only have a recovery disk), the computer mftr. may have given you the option to repair Vista (not a system recovery!) system in the diagnostic menu. This menu of diagnosis is the same one where you can choose Safe Mode. Get to this menu by repeatedly pressing the F8 key as the computer starts. If you do not have this option, you can make a bootable Vista file repair DVD in this link:

    http://NeoSmart.net/blog/2008/Windows-Vista-recovery-disc-download/

Note: All the Neosmart recovery disk downloads are torrent files. There is a good explanation of the torrent on the site Web of Neosmart files. You will need a torrent as muTorrent client to get the files. Torrent client will download the .iso file with which to create the bootable DVD. You will need to use third-party burning software such as Nero, Roxio or the free ImgBurn (http://www.imgburn.com ) to burn the image .iso image file, not in the form of data.

Once you have fixed things, log on to the additional administrative account you will be made by the suggestions below and disable the administrator account integrated yet for security reasons:

Start Orb > Search box > type: cmd
When cmd appears in the above results, right-click and choose "Run as Administrator" [OK]. Now, you will get the command prompt. At the command prompt, type:

NET user administrator / active: No. [Enter]

    Exit the command prompt.

General recommendations for creating users in Vista:

You absolutely don't want to have only one user account. As XP and all the other modern operating systems, Vista is a multi-user system with integrated system of accounts as default Administrator and comments. These accounts should be left alone because they are part of the structure of the operating system.

In particular, you do not want one account user with administrative privileges on Vista because the administrator account integrated (normally only used in emergencies) is disabled by default. If you use as an administrator for your daily work, and this account is corrupt, things will be difficult.  It is not impossible to activate the built-in administrator to rescue things, but there may be more that you want to do. Better not to put you in a bad situation at first.

The user account that is for your daily work must be a Standard user, with the extra administrative user (call it something like 'CompAdmin' or 'Tech' or similar) only it for elevation purposes. As a user Standard is recommended for security reasons and will help protect your computer against infections. After you have created "CompAdmin", connect to it and change your normal user account Standard. Then log on to your regular account.

If you want to go directly to the desktop and ignore the Welcome screen with the icons of the user accounts, you can do this:

Start Orb > Search box > type: netplwiz [Enter]
Click continue (or provide an administrator password) when you are prompted by UAC

Uncheck "users must enter a user name and password to use this computer". Select a user account to connect automatically by clicking on the account you want to highlight and press OK. Enter the password for this user account (when it exists) when you are prompted. Leave blank if there is no password (null). MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!
